Good morning ladies. Its sunny out here, but still very very cold.

Last night, I got on my knees and prayed for our friend and for strength at this time. I prayed to my favorite saint, St. Jude, who happens to be the patron saint of hopeless cases. But I don't think that there is no hope. I beleive in the power of prayer and of togetherness. I believe in miracles. I believe in the power of love.

Last year, after my nephew was attacked, I prayed and put my faith in God and in all his mercy. I do it again today and every day for my dear friends who have enriched my life beyond words.

Hugs and love to all of you.

Amen Kitty - AMEN!!!

Wow...I don't know how I feel about that. I kinda view the pink ribbon movement as a tool for awareness. When you see how many people are affected by a disease, or a cause, it is very humbling. It is also a way to generate money for research in battling disease. Especially for women, whose health care needs are largely diminished compared to men's health causes.

Yes, it does seem that we're inundated by pink ribbons lately. But for me, I'd much rather be reminded of a noble cause than anything else. Otherwise, just ignore it. That's an individual right also.

I suppose there are two or more sides to every story. A viewpoint for all the stars in the sky. But if there is some woman out there who is inspired, comforted or made stronger by the pink ribbon, then its all worth it.

I have to AMEN that too!

I do believe that positive thinking and the power of God has helped many with cancer. God does not cure all with any illness. I believe He hepls us through it and He can prolong life longer than the doctors say. I think our job is to be supportive and prayerful...as we sit by our computers and cry...

...crying is not showing a lack of faith is it?

Who is our computer expert? I would like a thing to put in our siggie for Holly. Maybe a pink Mickey head with her name in it? I do think the pink ribbons are to show support. I just feel we need something that shows us behind/beside/in front of her???

I think that's a great idea M! Its a pink ribbon for someone special, not just a random ribbon.

I cried too. It all just seems so unreal. And I think its demonstrates not a lack of faith, but an abundance of love.

So glad to see my opinion is shared by my fellow TKers.

It's a good thing to see the other side sometimes even when I don't agree with it entirely. I don't think that flying the pink flag so to speak means that we are hiding our heads in the sand or that we are putting smiles on our faces to cover up. I do think in some instances that going pink can seem like we as a sociaty are making lite of the situation. Not saying that we are, just that to someone who is extremely ill or even dying they may not give a rats butt about a pink ribbon.

I hope that I expressed what I wanted. I typed and deleted a bunch of times to make it sound right. Still not sure I said what I wanted.

I think a Pink Mickey Head would be so cool!

Morning Ladies!

Found an interesting article that puts a different look on the pink ribbon or as it's known by some the "pink ribbon culture".

Very interesting. Not sure I would go that far, even though I think there are way too many "pink ribbons" out there, thus polarizing one cancer over another. THEY ALL STINK! (And Stink isn't the word I had in mind)

I'm with Kitty on this one. It doesn't show weakness or lack of faith, but "abundance of love".

This sounds like a great idea. I'd love to put that in my siggie. However we may want to ask Holly what her favorite color is and then make a Mickey head out of that with her name in it. I know she expressed to me on Sunday that she's not real big on the color pink.

Well said Pikester! :thumbsup2

I love the Mickey Head idea. Regardless of the color.

I agree that sometimes God passes us some hard situations to handle. We have to go through it though. Someday we will know why, but for now all we can do is wait and pray. Positive thinking goes a long way too.

Cancer CAN be beat. I can't help but get a little excited every time I hear of someone beating it. It is almost like they beat the thing down that took my Dad...make sense? :grouphug:

I've got the schedule posted on FB. If you get a chance check it out. If you need me to PM you here instead, let me know.
DL55 - I sent you a PM this morning.

Pikester - I see the 2012 Disney Cruises are available. Did you book yet?

I KNOW!!!!! I've emailed my TA twice yesterday and I haven't heard from her yet. I think today booking was open for club levels but starting tomorrow us peons can book.

ooh! Cruise talk....I hope you book it! I'm still trying to convince BF he would enjoy a cruise, he's on the fence about it. Do they have unlimited Mickey ice cream on board? That may help....

So I went to Staples to visit the Kindle. I think I"m going to wait on it. I'm thinking there may be promotions for the holiday season. I wanted the fancier 3G-WiFi one, but then after I checked it out, the case, the screen protector and the light would add another $100! So we'll see if I can find a better deal, at least a free case.

My deal of the day: I had a coupon for Wet N Wild makeup (I didn't even know they made it still) $5 off $10 purchase. my local grocery has them 1/2 off....so I got 15 lipsticks for $6.40! They'll make good gifts for the women who work on our farm.

And check those receipts! Apparently there's a promotion that if you spend a certain amount, you get a $25 gas card in November. It was on the bottom, so free gas next month to Atlantic City!

There goes MagiKitty getting good deals. :thumbsup2

What's up with the cruise? Are you gals planning a meet? ;) I suggest that everyone should try a cruise once. Some love it, some hate it. :confused3 But you can't know for sure until you try. I've already signed up for a CruiseCritc cruise on the Carnival Magic in Feb 2012. Just gotta be on a new ship once. :goodvibes I guess I'm not the Disney fanatic that most here are. I can't bring myself to pay the Disney price. :guilty:

We heard from our condo guy. He sent us the info but for the wrong dates. He had down arriving 9/23 and leaving 11/7 for 6 nights. umm..no  We are arriving 11/7 and leaving 7/12. (besides his dates don't add up to 6 nights :rotfl2:)

OK I know there are SO many out there having a worse time than me right now, but all I can say is Today F****n S***s. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

D&D please ignore my pm, i checked FB after I wrote it- sorry about that.

Finally heard from my TA who is going to try to book tomorrow. I'm hoping for the Disney Dream 5 night Bahamas-2 stops at Castaway Cay on June 24, 2012.

JO has plans to go on the same cruise but if anyone else wants to go you are more then welcome.

DL55: I agree that Disney Cruises are more expensive but I REALLY want to do one!

I see Magi has been rockin the coupons again.

LITC: Want to talk about it?

Figures...I finally sit down to join y'all on FB and I can't get on there!
