Night LITC! Kisses and hugs for both you and Walter!

I know it's late and everyone is probably gone for the evening but I just remembered a question I had for some of my northern Tker buddies. Figure I better post it now cause by tomorrow I am likely to forget. :lmao:
My niece is planning a trip to New York for her birthday in November with one of her girl friends. This is her first trip. She is a model so I am sure part of her trip will be focused around fashion and shopping. The only thing I knew to recommend to her to see was Radio City Music Hall. Can ya'll give me any advice or suggestions to pass along to her?

Good morning ladies!

Marie, if your niece is interested in NY shopping, I recommend she start on Fifth avenue and work her way down. Tell her to start at FAO Schwarts--its on 58th and 5th. Everyone should go there. Its also where the Apple Store is, and CBS studios, where they film the morning show. Its near Bergdorf Goodman, which has fantastic store windows and the famous Plaza hotel. Then just walk down Fifth, all the famous stores will be there.

Also go to Macys in Herald Square. They have fantastic old wooden escalators. The entire area is also shopping and not too far from the Empire State building.

Anyone visiting the city I always tell them to get the CityPass. Its a bundled tourist attraction package. It ends up being way cheaper and a good idea of the stuff to see like the Empire, Rockefeller center, etc. Even in the winter, the Circle Line is a lot of fun. Or the bus tour.

Tell her to take the Staten Island ferry for a free view of Lady Liberty.

Times Square is also fun, but also go at night, where its almost as bright as daytime with all the lights. Get discounted Broadway show tickets at the TKS stall there too.

More shopping? Head down to Chinatown where they have great stalls and better food. I always recommend having lunch in Chinatown and dinner around the corner in Little Italy. Shop in between. Lots of cute galleries down there.

Hmmm....if your niece knows what she's interested in, let me know.

After meeting Pikester and LITC, I just do not see where those words come from! They are sooo nice!!! Of course I never believed the saying---nice girls don't swear...or drink...etc!

Glad the guy finally got his act together DL55---hope those dates are really available!

Pikester has 2 trips in the fire! Not getting bored yet are you?

Marie---just watch for bedbugs! There's a nice place to eat at the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center.

Mom started tears at breakfast---would not say why. She even put on her own shoes and socks today. I had to do the laces.

It's a beautiful fall day here. I saw 4 hawks along the road from Lancaster. Haven't seen that many all summer.

Just got this:

ooh, M...thanks! I didn't know they were opening a new store. They closed the one on Fifth Avenue last year, and it was really sad. That was a great store. They had characters you could take pics with. My fave was the Donald Duck NYC Firefighter.

ok, so I just watched a video of the Mom's panel training weekend last year, and while it looked amazingly fantastic, they sure need some Asian spice in there!

the opening song the Time of My Life by my husband David Cook (we've since reconciled). I think its a sign!

:rotfl2:
But wait a minute...David didn't say anything about getting back together with you. ;)

Damn! I missed the cuss fest.

Nice video, looks like they had fun but I'd rather hear MagiKitty's experience. :surfweb: ;)

DH is getting more into our Hawaii trip. He was looking at restaurants. He was excited to see so many within walking distance of the condo. I told him to look up some reviews. Now he isn't so excited. Mostly so so reviews. We'll still try a few just because we won't want to drive somewhere. Plus we aren't that picky. We weren't going to spend the extra $ for a luau or a snorkeling trip to Molokini (went there on our honeymoon). But DH realized I'm getting him a push cart (golf) for Xmas so he decided we will go to Molokini since I really want to go there. :lovestruc

:woohoo: I so want to stow away in your luggage.

talk to the locals when you arrive in Hawaii. They'll tell you the best places to go. But also remember you're on vacation--try some new stuff! Stuff you'll only have in Hawaii. That's what makes good memories.

Wow, and Dh is getting a cart for Christmas....he must have been a very good boy! Its good for him to find out before your trip, so he can start making it up to you....

and D...David LLLUUUUUVVVSSSSS me. He just doesn't know it yet. But when I become the next Disney ambassador and we meet at an official Disney/American Idol function, there will be sparks.

The cart isn't a riding one (he hates those) it just carries his clubs. So not that expensive but a little more than we usually spend. He found out about it cause he told me "this is what I want for Xmas". :rotfl2:

We are also staying in Hilo not a lot places listed but there is one known for their Spam dishes. I plan to go there, I like Spam..DH not so much. :upsidedow

DL I could hug you right now! I'm Filipino, and we love spam too. I actually want to go to this restaurant that specializes in spam dishes. I saw it on the Food Network. It was Anthony Bourdian. Maybe they list it on the website?

I find direct ordering is really the only way to get what you want for the holidays. Hinting doesn't do as well. I've even had to order my own gift, wrap it and put it under the tree. But if its something I really want, its worth all the effort.

I now have a hankering for some Spam. Too bad I'm watching calories, fat and carbs so I maybe lose some weight before the trip. I don't know why I bother though. :headache:

Save those calories for Hawaii! But if you're hiking and snorkeling, you may need those calories to burn off being so active! And the fruit! Oh, I love tropical fruit.

You'll have to take pics of your meals for us!
