One of the best "values" for TiW is if you buy wine by the bottle.

even if you say very conservatively that it takes twice as long to realize the benefit of TIW because you only go to restaurants that also have DVC/AP discounts that is $1500, or $75 a day for food. that's barely a meal for two adults at most TS places, forget about booze. It sounds like you will definitely come out ahead, it's just how much that is in dispute.

Spice Road Table does accept TIW. It's marked as "NEW" on the TIW website so it didn't always accept it. Used it there last October.

La Hacienda took it for awhile but no longer does. Its sister restaurant, San Angel Inn, does take it. (However..La Cava does not)
Teppan Edo doesn't take it. Tokyo Dining does.
Of the new restaurants at Disney Springs, Boathouse doesn't accept, but Morimoto Asia does.
TIW has been discontinued for the Grand Floridian Tea and for Victoria & Alberts main dining room.
The Landrys restaurants (Rainforest Cafes and Yak & Yeti) have never accepted it.
Chefs de France now accepts TIW only at lunch.

I think a lot of people often overlook another value that TIW offers that we take advantage of a lot living locally and that is free valet parking at many locations on property. Especially at The Boardwalk where valet is $25. We spend a lot of time at EPCOT and the Studios and it's nice to valet at The Boardwalk and bounce back and fourth between EPCOT and The Studios and not have to worry about parking in one of the lots. At $25 a pop, rather not having to pay $25 a pop we save a lot of money from a $100 card.

We use it a lot at the resorts as well. We resort hop from time-to-time or have dinner/drinks, etc. at the resorts and get the free valet parking there as well.

They may say that, however we use this on a near weekly basis and have NEVER had an issue valeting for much longer than three hours. We have done this for years and again have never had any issues with how long our car has been in valet.

I guess the "three hour" rule is specifically for theme park parking. For resorts, "Complimentary Resort valet parking is not intended for length of stay at a Resort and may only be used if the vehicle is parked at a Resort for the sole purpose of dining at one of the participating Resort restaurants of that same resort."

It may be. Like I said, we have never had any issues with it.

You really need to run the numbers. I use a spreadsheet and estimate each meal and calculate the cost with TiW versus the cost with any other discount or just OoP. As we are here over Easter and there are black outs we will actually have spent over 1000 before we break even. We won't save much possible even less than 100 but as we come from a non tipping company I like that the tip is included so we pay the bottom line and we know we are done.

I've had TiW every year since it started. But, not renewing it this year. It's usually just two of us, sometimes three, don't drink a lot, maybe a glass of wine (one of us only). We do a TS meal at least once a day. But with the price hike, it just won't save us money...not even with 2 trips planned.
I'll just use either the DVC or AP discount.
The other thing to remember with TiW, is that the gratuity is automatically added...18%.

I don't think we're getting it this trip since the cost for FL residents is now $175. It used to be a no brainer, but we would have to spend close to $1,000 OOP for it to pay for itself, and I just don't think we would spend that much.

Yes, you should always tip for valet. I'm not aware of any restaurant that actually does takeout, but I would expect them to add the automatic gratuity. It is not added at the handful of quick service places which accept the card.

Anyway, Disney tends to let CMs let things slide. Like at GF Tea, our servers have previously been amazing. They let us order what we want, they let us use TIW even when poeple were obviosuly paying for themselves, etc etc. And then it all got shut down. They didn't just tell their CMs "hey, let's have a few rules on what people order, and if someone is obviously paying for themselves but don't have the TIW card, don't give them the TIW discount". No, they shut down TIW use there and they create a ridiculous menu with major rules.

So if you're being allowed to do this because some CMs are lax about it and don't want to mess up possible tips...down the road Disney won't just tell the CMs to stop that. They'll enact some ridiculous rule or dump the program altogether. And that won't just impact others, but it will impact you as well.

So I would be careful with that. From what I personally have experienced when using Valet while dining with TIW the rule is that it's supposed to be within 3 hours of dining.

I know years ago I use to get the soup to go at the coral reef but I did not know if other places allowed take out.
We have never used valet parking with TIW. Good to know we should tip, would that be 20% of the normal fee?

Yeah, I understand. But like I said ... We have NEVER had any issue with it at all in a good three years of using valet in this manner. Especially at The Boardwalk resort. We have been there and JUST shown our TIW card and got the free valet. We are there a lot, at least three to four times per week and have some of the same valet guys/gals and that may have something to do with it as well.

However, before being locals and doing this ... Again, we never had any issues with longer then three hours of valet or issues with showing valet CM's a receipt. At times, they did not even care if there was no food on it, as long if it had Tables in Wonderland on it ... They were fine with it.

Sorry if you guys or anyone else has ever had issues using TIW for valet.

We typically are leaving the resort area late at night as well (close to or passed midnight) with very few people around and usually only one valet CM for the most part. They are always very cool with what we are doing.
