Tips on Strollers and Bags for older child

Ok I have two teenagers, but I also have a five year old who likes to dart once in a while and gets tired easily, I do have an umbrella stroller but he is so tall, I am afraid if he falls asleep his feet will be stuck on the wheels? I still want to bring one for when he gets tired, any tips, anyone rent them? He is skinny but long legs. Also I have a hop skip jump diaper bag that I love, no he isnt in diapers anymore but its so convenient it is the duo, I just dont know if its too big, I used to hang it off the back, but occasionally if too full my stroller flips over, lol. Anyway any good bags out there? I like to keep a few ponchos, water bottles, face wipes, sunscreen, a water mister, and a change of clothing in there since I will have a small purse

When we took my DD for her first trip she was 5 and I rented a double stroller for the entire trip. After about the third day, I just stopped getting the stroller. She liked it the first day but decided that she wanted to be a big girl and walk. That was what we have done since then. I would rent one for a day and see how it goes. Add additional days if you need to.

As for a bag, we typically use a medium size back pack it has enough pockets for everything and then I don't have to take my purse.

Do you think your son will really fall asleep in the stroller? I'll be bringing an umbrella stroller for our almost 5yo at our next trip - mainly so that we have something to stow all the water bottles, sweatshirts, etc. without carrying backpacks for everyone. And if DS wants a little break for his legs, we'll have it and I won't have to carry him! I'm sure he won't fall asleep, though.
So far we have always had an umbrella stroller on our trips, though this may be the last time with the youngest now approaching 5, and the oldest two getting old enough to schlep their own stuff through the park.

We rented a City Elite stroller from Kingdom Strollers when DS was 5. He is also tall and the stroller was very comfortable for him. Kingdom Strollers will deliver to your resort. I really like Le Sportsac bags for park touring. They are comfortable, hold a ton of stuff, don't get ruined in the rain and are machine washable

I likely won't revisit this thread, to avoid any flames thrown my way. . I for one see nothing wrong with the stroller for a five-year-old. My daughter will be five in a few weeks. She is my fifth child (out of six.) She weighs 31 pounds, and could not keep up with the rest of us if she had to. If I were heading to Disney World tomorrow, I would most definitely have a stroller for her.

Furthermore, I have been known to have a stroller rented for a seven-year-old. In 2007 when we visited Walt Disney World with my children, they were one, three, five, and seven years old at the time. My intention when we hit animal kingdom our first day of touring was to just use our double stroller from home for the one and three-year-olds. We were less than halfway across the bridge to camp minnie-Mickey, when we realized the boys (5 & 7) would never keep up with us. I spun on my heels, marched back to stroller rental, and rented a double for the duration of our trip. If anyone was shooting me dirty looks, I certainly wasn't noticing them. I was too busy having a very good time.

As far as bags go, I normally have a inexpensive backpack with all our goodies in it. But if you have something you like already, I would see no harm in using it. I do like LeSportsac brand too, though. Amazon has great prices.
