Tips for selling Girl Scout cookies?

If you're selling outside a store somewhere, I would take a big box and put in the cookies you are already sending to the troops. Put a big sign on it that says "Help us fill this box with cookies for the troops!" instead of "Would you like a box of Girl Scout Cookies" have the girls say "Would you like to buy a box of cookies to send to troops overseas?" or something like that. Honestly, if I was buying for myself I would probably buy a box and maybe give you a $5 and say keep the change (I was a Girl Scout. :rotfl: ) However, if it was for the troops, I would give $10 and donate it all. I think if you approach it that way, people will be more willing to help. Many will not buy for themselves because of the economy, but given the opportunity to help others in some way...they're happy to be able to help. :lovestruc

Great ideas all! I had never thought about the college campus! That would be a great place! I'll also have to see if I can get a few extra cases to sell out of my car - it definitely helps if you have them on hand!

My understanding from our Troop Leader is that Super Seller status is achieved when you average 350 boxes per girl. I believe that the girls earn a special badge or patch, and also get a ticket to either a local amusement or water park. There may be other prizes too, but I'm not sure what they are.
