Hi Everyone!

I'm more or less curious about what Disbrides who have tipped their Disney wedding planners ended up paying or giving? DH and I got married on 12/08/14, and were completely blown away by the day. We'd like to show our gratitude to our planner, but we're not certain about how much is appropriate, or if a gift is a better option. I've read that the standard is about up to $500, or a nice gift. After we just paid what we did...that's going to hurt. :-/

I'd just read it in Carrie's book, but my mom and mother-in-law came into our house while we were gone and CLEANED. I seriously can't find anything. :/

Whatever you feel is appropriate is basically the answer. We gave ours a gift, with a thank you note, about 3 weeks after our event.

So here's another question then. We are planning on trying to give our planner at least $250 (maybe more, if I can find it). The problem is...what are they allowed to accept?

I was looking at the Disney employee code of ethics handbook, and they can accept gifts $75 and under with no problem. Gifts over $75-$500 though, it looks like they MAY have to notify their Management Audit department. The ethics code says that gifts within that range are subject to the "ordinary course of business test" and may be subject to them notifying the Management Audit department at Disney.

It says they may not have to report it if the gift would be considered something customary for her job position...but I don't know what Disney considers "customary" for wedding planners. I don't want to get my planner in trouble. :/

Event planners are allowed to accept monetary tips. It's only the sales consultants who can't. :thumbsup2
