Timing and TA ?

I'm planning a bit already although our DLR trip is far away -- the week before Christmas week 2013. For DLR, would you use a TA or book by yourself? Also, would you grab a package with tickets or just book separately? And how far in advance would you book? We're going mid-week so will avoid the weekends, likely hitting the park T,W,Th, maybe M too. I just don't know if any deals come out closer to the time or if I will get anything for that time as much as a year out. TIA!

. We always book our reservations ourselves. Do not use a TA for anything. You will have a bit of a wait for deals for the time period you are asking.

I've booked packages and I've book everything seperate. I always price it both ways and see which is best. My current trip was booked thru Costco travel. It was the same price as the Disneyland site, but we get a character meal and $20 gift card with the costco package. I did book my airfare on my own so that I would have better control over cost and flight times.

I've done both. Different factors will dictate how I do it. (Budget, driving or flying, etc.) This time I priced out online first to compare to what my travel agent could do for us. Ended up booking through the agent for a TINY bit more but way more convenient for the whole package we wanted.
