Timeshares-Would I Qualify

Iv been scanning the net and have noticed quite a few deals as far as timeshares. However most of them say you must earn betwwen 40,000-45,000 a year to qualify for these deals. I dont mind sitting thru a timeshare presentation in order to get one of these deals but my annual income (without getting to personal) falls a bit short of this. Lets face it, I would'nt be after one of these if I was earning a six figure sum.
How strict are they on these income levels and could I get away with a little creative bookwork ? Anyone one else out there found themselves in the same situation ?

Those are in US dollars, aren't they? They are also usually a family income, so you might qualify.

My guess is that the timeshare companies do not check your income unless you buy. It would be especially hard for them to do so on someone from the UK.

I've seen them ask people how much money they make before they'll start their spiel. They don't want to waste time if they know you don't have enough money for the loan to go through. I don't know if they ask everyone, though. DH and I were at another vacation spot when they asked us, and we look like we're about 17.

there's no way for them to check your figure unless you buy, so make sure that you're aware of the minimum when you book the appointment.

Our income met the requirement for Ron Jon when it was still Isle of Bali, when I booked it. By the time we arrived the minimum had gone up about $5,000 at least and there was a small hassle about us not meeting the current standard, but I had my paperwork ready. Not that it mattered since we weren't buying anyway, I could have fabricated the extra money, but I wasn't gonna take any chances. they really do have to accept what you say as truth unless you sign on at the X.

They approach tourists on vacation all day long who have not carried any form of salary info with them. They are more interested in the fact that you're credit worthy, that's why they want to know if you have an active credit card.

I went to one in 1999 thought it was worth the hassle, you may or may not agree. But when it comes to salary requirements, I think they will take your word for it.

I've never had to provide proof of income. Only once was I even asked to provide any ID.
