Timeframe transferring a vehicle from state to state with Carmax?

Hello

my question is and I have had the hardest time finding anything on timeframes from certain area , (example) from point a- Virginia to point b- Indianapolis Indiana when purchasing a vehicle from Carmax when I it is in another state. I paid the transfer fee on May 3rd 2021. On May 4th 2021 on last Tuesday I received an email saying my vehicle has been shipped and is on the way and scheduled to be delivered on Monday the 17th. At first I did not think about it but later that day reminded myself I am going out of state on the 17th on that Monday I will not be home. I got ahold of the rep, I explained it to him and he said he does not see it taking that long, but that he cannot guarantee the delivery date, but also he said it will hopefully be there by Friday. Which again. I’ll be out of state on the 17th. But also again, I forgot I am taking kids to southern Indiana. Friday May 14th. So yea, now I won’t be here. I am praying it comes in the next 2 days or I will be screwed.My current vehicle in my opinion is not reliable. So, I cannot drive it for the trip over the weekend with my kids. If my vehicle does not show up. I may be out of quite a bit of money that I cannot get back due to prepaying for the hotel ect. Has anyone dealt with timeframes and transferring cars state to state with Carmax??

Can you not just rent a car for the weekend? Much cheaper than losing all the money for the trip!

Not really. I actually just dropped my Jeep off to be safe. Getting it looked at. To be on the safe side and just incase it does not come on time. But it did however update this morning from the 18th to the 14th. But then you know they have to do their checks and stuff I do not know how long that takes. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it will show up today or tomorrow

Good to hear that it updated to earlier. But, if you prepaid for a hotel, call them. Ask them to change the night for you if that will help. I've had luck with that.

The other thing - I sometimes book using AAA which is often maybe $5 more than the best prepaid rate and do that so that I can cancel if necessary.

And, enjoy your new car when you get it!
