Hey! After lurking for some time I have decided to come out and ask opinions on our dining situaion. It is me,dh, ds13,dd4,and ds3 traveling in Nov-staying @BWI. After research and discussion w/the family this was our dining plan

Nov 20, Sun--Arrival, then MK. Dinner 8pm @ CRT (this is for dd, although secretly ds13 is excited)

Nov 21, Mon--Epcot. Dinner @ Coral Reef (this is ds13 #1 pick, how could I say no w/all the charachter meals he will do!?)

Nov 22, Tues--HS. Lunch 3pm @Mama Melrose-Fantasmic Package (purely for a shorter wait w/the little ones)

Nov 23, Wed--Mk. Breakfast @Crystal Palace 8am--OOP
Dinner @O'Hana 6:30

Nov 24, Thurs--AK. Breakfast @8am Tusker House 8am--OOP
Dinner @Cape May Buffet (Thanksgiving w/ crab legs)

Nov 25, Fri--Epcot--Lunch @ Le Cellier--OOP (This is for dh, he asked for nothing this trip, but I know he will enjoy this)

Nov 26, Sat--Departure Day--We have a ressie for Chef Mickey's just in case hrs change and we cancel Tusker House for an 8am RD, otherwise just QS.

After a lot of math, we will make out w/our current TS and DDP, and pay Approx. $330 OOP--so we thought---now extended family is meeting us and really wants us to try HDD-they love it!! OOP at least $200-$240 more, noone wants to give up any of our current TS--we would add HDD to Fri night. Total at least $530 OOP or add DXDP for $714?? DxDP would mean all 3 charachter meals, changing Coral Reef to lunch and adding FF(YUM) for a dinner, Captain's Grille for lunch on arrival day, and still some credits. Am I asking for trouble with all these ADR's, should I upgrade or stay at DDP and pay OOP for the rest??

I am a big fan of deluxe dining. However we have been to the parks many times. Are you prepared for the tips and time it will take?

If you really plan on using most of your credits I would say yes upgrade after you make the adrs. No sense in doing it until you have secured what you want.

We love the DxDDP but one down fall is the tips. It does add up fast. also are you prepared to spend at least 60 minutes at regular meals and about 2 hours for signature meals. It takes alot of time away from the parks. To us it'snot a big deal as we go often but for some it's a big no no as they loose too much time going to the meals and so on. If restaurant breaks are welcome in your family, then I would go for it.
