Timandlesley's ROAD TRIP TO DISNEY!! ARE WE THERE YET!?!6/28 TR is up, link on pg.47!

I don't blame you, for $600 I would have done the exact same thing.....and you hit the nail on the head...you're at Disney, how bad can it be;)

Wowza! Saving $600 is a big deal!!! It's hard making those changes, but good for you - and like you said, you're at Disney, so you know you'll have a great time either way!!!! :thumbsup2

Great job! That is a huge savings! Woohoo!

I would recommend skipping the breakfasts that you have already done...Boma/Character etc. and enjoy the Luau instead if you haven't done that yet. It is amazing and the food is fantastic! My daughter still talks brings it up and luaus are mentioned. Just a thought.

Wow...$600 is a lot of money. La, la, la, la, la....don't want to hear that -LOL!:rotfl: It's definitely a sit up and take notice figure, isn't it?

Well if it means switching out three 2 table credit restaurants for some 1 credits, and eating some breakfasts in the room in order to get an extra summer mini-holiday, I would say it's a no-brainer. Take the Deluxe Dining.:rotfl: Just kidding!!! Obviously the extra Summer holiday sounds a lot more appealing! Especially because now you can sleep in a little later as you won't have to rush off to early morning breakfast ADRS!;)

Good work Lesley!:)

It's hard to argue with saving $600 especially when you are going to use it for other trips this summer. Where else are you headed?

Thats sounds like a good plan :thumbsup2

What an awesome amt you are saving by doing this

:woohoo:
Thanks, felt good to save those 600 big ones : )

I'm all for saving money! And, $600 IS a lot of money. Can't wait to see where you want to eat. Where is this bagel place you mentioned. Is that on Disney property somewhere, or just in the area?
I agree, it is a lot of money. They gave specific directions on the podcast, you could google "Delish bakery", it's right by Disney, not on property.

Saving money is always a good thing!
And groceries for the room definitely saves a ton. Plus, it saves time. More time in the parks :yay:
I have to call tomorrow to make ours.
I agree. Hope you got all the ADR's you wanted!
Wow!! :scared1: $600 in savings?? that's crazy! Well, I'm on the regular dining plan and we still are able to have some nice sit down dinners. And paying OOP won't be a problem since you'll be saving $600!! Can't wait to hear your dining plans!!
I know, it is a lot. I'll post dining plans this coming week, stay tuned!

That's almost enough $$ to do Universal!
Too funny, I don't think we will do it this trip, so much money to do both parks. Maybe in 2011 before our Cruise on the Disney Dream:cloud9:
Sounds like a good plan to me ... $600 is a good amount of savings to use for other things. Can't wait to hear about the Delish bakery ... now I am craving a bagel for breakfast. Having breakfast items and snacks in the room is nice so you don't have to rush out of the room in the morning if you don't want to. It's also nice to have snacks for the afternoon breaks back at the room or at the pool. I have to tease you I like how you listed wine among your other food staples. A girl after my own heart.
I will tell you all about Delish in our TR of course, bagels are so yummy. Oh yes, wine is a staple on my vacations ; )
I don't blame you, for $600 I would have done the exact same thing.....and you hit the nail on the head...you're at Disney, how bad can it be
Agreed! : )

Hurrah for saving $$! Think of all the "extra" souvenirs you could buy...
I know : ) Don't let the kids know that though ; )

Wowza! Saving $600 is a big deal!!! It's hard making those changes, but good for you - and like you said, you're at Disney, so you know you'll have a great time either way!!!!
I agree, it is a lot of money to be saved.
Great job! That is a huge savings! Woohoo!

That is a good suggestion, but I just love Boma breakfast so much and we're staying right on property. I think we'll save the luau for another trip.

You are too funny. Yes, we are taking a lot of trips this summer so that money will come in handy.

It's hard to argue with saving $600 especially when you are going to use it for other trips this summer. Where else are you headed?
We are headed to Grand Haven Michigan this summer and also a trip out to see Diane and family where we will visit New York, I promised Lauren a trip to the American Girl store and Luke and Tim have tickets to a Yankees game with Bryan and Matthew, should be a great time!

Hi guys!:goodvibes
Well, I found a GREAT rate for Buena Vista Suites for the 15th of June (my birthday), it was only 89.99 for the night. The suite includes a refrigerator so we can put all of our food we buy in it.
This is the same hotel Tim and I stayed on our honeymoon 11 1/2 years ago:love:, it includes a free breakfast.
So the plan will be, hoping in the car early on the 14th and driving as far as we can go (probably to the southern most point of Georgia or Northern Floriday), then finding a hotel to stay in. Then on the 15th (my b-day) we'll head to Orlando, stock up on food/staples (yes wine is included on the staples list:rotfl:) and spend the night at Buena Vista suites. We will check into Animal Kingdom Lodge on the 16th. If we want to hit the park on the 15th for a bit we can (I anticipate we probably will, can't imagine us staying away).
I'll post our dining plans this coming week.
I'm so excited for tomorrow night. My Valentine's Day gift to Tim was a reservation at a nice hotel in the Downtown Cincinnati area, I arranged for his mom to watch the kids - so we head out tomorrow afternoon for a getaway just the two of us:love:, CAN'T WAIT!
Hope you all have great weekends!
-Lesley

That is GREAT Lesley! YAY for you and Tim and tomorrow night, I'm jealous! We have ANOTHER snow day today....AHHHH togetherness!:rolleyes1

Lesley I have a suggestion for your title. One trip, two families, and many Tokyo Sunsets.

Sounds like things are really coming together!! So happy the two of you get to spend a lovely evening together... enjoy!

I promise I'll update my PTR this weekend... but I have to share... I booked Hoop-Dee-Do tonight!! We were waiting on the results of our taxes to see if we could splurge on it.. and we could!! Jumping up and down with excitement!!!:dance3:

How neat you get to stay at same hotel again.

Enjoy your night away with Tim :lovestruc

Have a great weekend, Leslie! When you are thinking of a place to stay in southern Georgia, you might want to stop in Valdosta. It is right at the state line and about three and a half hours from Disney.

SO nice to hear you are planning atrip to NYC have a ball at the American girl store I love that place however very expensive.. When ever I take my daughter there we always have grandma with us if you get what I mean LOL!!!! Enjoy all of your trips this summer

Hope you are having a wonderfully romantic weekend, Tim & Lesley!!

What a great rate that was for your extra night's stay - I may consider that for the tail end of our trip. I rented points for 5 nights but I hate to leave on a Friday!! I was trying to think of a place for at least one more night that wouldn't cost a fortune (plus I don't think I could rent points this late for 12/3 and/or 12/4/10).
