Tigger Tails?

After reading your blog post HydroGuy (which was great by the way!) I think I just may have to try Cheshire Cat Tails when I'm there instead! I've never tried Tigger Tails in any incarnation and was planning to when I go this July... but now knowing there's an alternate Alice in Wonderland version my interest is doubly piqued! I've always had special love in my heart for the Alice characters. :) Thanks for the info!
I have heard that Cheshire Cat Tails may have gone to Yesterland and are not at Pooh Corner anymore. Anyone?

How could I forget the caramel??!! I like the sugar coating, but I like Peeps.

:( That would be sad to hear! Gone before I could ever get to them! Oh well at least I could try the Tigger Tails. :)

I really dislike the sugar coating, but you can make your own original recipe!

We made them at home and brought them with us for our last visit.

I'm actually the author of that article, and I just wanted to let everyone know that I failed to mention orange flavoring when I wrote it. When I first made tigger tails, we'd never actually had them in the parks, and I didn't realize they were made with it. My family doesn't love orange/chocolate combos, so we wouldn't have personally used the orange flavoring anyway....but I just wanted to tell the OP that if you want them to taste like the ones they actually sold at the park, you'd need to add some orange flavoring to the orange chocolate after melting it. :stir:

I didn't see any at Pooh Corner 2 weekends ago so I fear they have the gone the way of Yesterland. Sorry. :( Who knows though, maybe with the Mad T Party coming, they will be brought back during the party? :confused3

...says the man who never tried an original tigger tail!
Well sort of. After we got back from our trip in 2010 where we first had Tigger Tails my DS18 and his GF18 decided to make them at home from an online recipe. However, they did not know there were two kinds - heck, I did not know at that time either. So the recipe was for the original kind. And they made some. But then felt compelled to put sprinkles on them because they thought the recipe must have been wrong!

So I kinda sorta had the old kind. :)

Since Splash is usually off the plan when I'm at the park (I go in off season almost exclusively) because of the weather, my SO (who has a sweet tooth) used to get us over "to ride Pooh and then get a Tigger Tail".

We tried the "improved" Tigger Tails... they are disgusting; the sugar coating ruins them.

Looks like there's no reason to ride Pooh anymore! ;)

The "old recipe" is available during Hallowe'en time in a slightly different form. It was insanely delicious. This year we will have to get one of each & compare.:thumbsup2

Those look really good. I might have to try my hand at making some! How does the taste compare to the DL ones? ( I've never had the DL ones but just wondering)

I'll admit Tigger Tails probably look tasty to many people, but it looks really way too sweet to me. The whole trend is probably lost on me. I am not a fan of the Monte Cristo either. My tummy is always iffy at the parks anyway, so I don't tempt the fates.

Oh I don't eat a whole one at once by myself. lol Usually DD12 and I share one, well the old style anyway. I'm going to make them at home, but I'll make them smaller, 2 marshmallows per stick instead of 4. :) They are very sweet......

I bought them for the kids this trip and they only took a couple bites. I took a bite also and thought they were delicious! In fact I am craving one right now!! I like the sugar crunchy coating, but I never tried them the other way so I can't compare. ;)

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to that question, as we never did try the ones with orange flavoring. I bought my kids one of those breakable chocolate oranges once?...and we all shared it?...and everybody had a headache and felt nauseated afterward so that experience really ruined the chocolate/orange flavor for us.

The ones we made were good...although I'll be honest and say I'm not a huge fan of white chocolate (or any colored variety of it..), so I personally just thought the Tigger Tails we made were "meh". I really do LOVE caramel and marshmallows together, so I enjoyed that element of them...and the real chocolate "stripes" were yummy.

I will say, that we made enough for everyone to have their own...my kids were about 4, 7, 10, and 16 when we made them...and after about 5 bites they were all looking green, lol. Just waaaaaaaay too much sugar. (But my kids are accustomed to only having small amounts of sugar at any one time - so I imagine the TT's don't make everyone sick like that...). We each only finished a very small portion of ours.

They were a lot of fun to make....but the next time we made them we used the little miniature marshmallows, and those treated everybody's tummies MUCH better.

If I make them again, I'm actually going to use the chocolate chips for the coating, and then use the orange-colored chocolate for the stripes....just because we all like regular chocolate much better (and it's especially good with caramel and marshmallows. Also, we'll just use the mini-marshmallows again).
