Very nice!!! Great work! Thanks for sharing.
Go Packers! Any packers/Mickey lovers can make these colors... I made this one for a Packers freak friend of mine.

Just saw the Packers colors, and I thought I would be a bad Steelers fan if I didn't share our colors, too! (Even tho they lost the Super Bowl...)

Thanks, Pixiedust for your awesome tutorials and help! Couldn't have done it without you!!
Well I have read every page of this thread, bought shirts, dye from Dharma, soda ash, stitched shirts and am going to attempt this in the am!!I am attempting 8 shirt's and 2 dresses for our cruise in March! I am making St Patrick's Day green's set and a red and black set. Wish me luck! I have spent over $100 bucks on this and don't want to fail!!

Everything still is a amazing Roxy!!! You are an inspiration!!!
Last year when we went, a number of people stopped us at various times and asked where we bought the shirts....that's the ultimate compliment! Lots of pressure for getting this batch right!
I am doing 8 shirts...2 for my girls (6 & 3), 2 for the wife and 2 for me. I bought 2 Jacquard funky tie dye kits for the shirts and my wife also picked up a big Tulip kit so I could "customize" the color of the Mickey heads.
To those experienced folks (this means you Roxy!) any specific Tulip dyes to avoid for the heads?
The only color I've had a hard time getting to show up is "lemonade". It was in a Tulip kit that had a tropical theme. It's a really light yellow. Sometimes it's not the color, it's the colors you put next to it. I put yellow and lime green on one set. It's really hard to distinguish the two.
As for the soda ash, how much do I need for the 8 shirts? One bucket with 2 packages of soda ash? Or do I need to split them up into two buckets? I think each Jacquard lit comes with a soda ash pouch. I always start with one packet in the bucket with the required amount of water. You can always go back and remix another batch if necessary.
And do you put the rubber bands around the Mickey before dropping them into the soda ash or wait until they have been soaked?
I always wash the t-shirts with nothing but detergent, dry them. Put the designs on them (I use a fabric pencil that washes away & usually purple thread so I can see it to remove it easily). Rubber band them and THEN put them in the Soda Ash water. It will be very difficult to place the rubber bands if the shirt is wet.
Thanks all!

you can use any color, except for yellow or super light color, the trick with tulip is less water, half of bottle for a deeper color.

ok, 1 cup makes one gallon, you can mix it and soak 4 shirt first, after soaking them ring them really good with your hands to save as much water possible in your bucket, then soak the other 4, it can be done.

do it first.
thanks all!
