I have some family members that were going to Disney with us. Now they are saying they may not be able to afford it. I already bought MVMCP tickets. They don’t know because it was going to be a surprise ugh. If they don’t go can I get a credit to put towards the dining plan for the rest of us ?
Very unlikely. You can typically only get credit towards another special event (not including enchanting extras). This happened to us when we missed a party because DH was in the ER from a bad fall at our hotel. Even with the paperwork from the ER at the time of the party, nothing else was offered.

I have tricky AP question. Pre-covid, I was an avid WDW AP holder and haven't been back since then. I am so far out of the loop it isn't funny. I have a WDW Platinum Pass Adult Exchange Certificate from Tickets at Work that I bought in 2019. How are they going to handle this? Will they really exchange it for an AP at this point?

The Platinum Pass has no expiration and should still be honored by WDW without any additional payment from you. Legacy passes are still listed on the blockout calendar on the WDW website https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passes/calendar/platinum-annual-pass/

Since you have Platinum it's actually easier than a Gold since those blockout dates changed. Platinum has no blockouts so WDW will most likely just convert your Platinum Pass certicate into an Incredi-Pass WITH PhotoPass downloads. PhotoPass is no longer included with new APs and is an up charge so make sure whatever they give you has it included.

You'll sadly get varying answers depending on who you speak with and how long they've been with Disney. If the frontline CM you speak with is unsure just politely ask to speak with a supervisor.

Has anyone here successfully upgraded 3rd party/authorized reseller PH tix to an AP under the GC promo? CM indicated to me that it could be done but haven't seen it confirmed.

Third party tickets can be upgraded to AP so I see no reason why the GC promo would impact that. Your credit for upgrade will be the price WDW sold same ticket on the date you purchased from the reseller.

Historically no, they will not issue you a refund nor will you be able to apply the money towards the DDP. The credit for the funds would remain in your account and need to be used towards another special ticket event in the future.

That AP deal looks interesting! In attempting to research it, however, I came across something that I'm wondering whether it's a change from the old Annual Pass system. It used to be that if the first time I used it was, say, June 10th, the AP would expire on June 10th of the next year, meaning it was really an "Annual + 1 Day" pass. However, the pass I currently have says it expires the day before, what I thought, was the first day I used it, making it a True AP. Either that or I have a bad memory, and really entered a park a day before I thought (it was a trip delayed due to a hurricane, and in all the craziness it's possible). Which is it?

I read in another thread that someone who bought very recently called and was sent the GC. It’s worth a try!
Our friend who just bought and went a week ago called and they told him absolutely not. I wonder if he should try again for someone else.

We did try already but were told this wasn’t possible. New purchases only starting July 22nd. Maybe worth one more try
Success! We tried phoning again starting with DVC (who thought there was a grace period but could not action) and then through VIPassholders line (407-939-7277). We were finally put through to “Passholder Help Desk” who indicated there is a grace period. I suspect it is two weeks (we bought ours on July 10th and don’t plan to activate until December ). We now have e-gift cards coming our way 😃 Seems like the key was to get hold of the Passholder help desk.
