ticket w/ waterpark upgrade to AP question

We will be purchasing a 10 day hopper with water park option in June. We are thinking about upgrading to an annual pass while we are there. If we upgrade, will the entire value (including the cost of the water park option) be credited towards an annual pass (without the water park option). I am not sure if I will lose the value of the water park b/c the annual pass we want to upgrade to does not include the water park. I will be sure to upgrade at the end of our trip so that I can take advantage of the water park option on the original ticket. Any information would be greatly appreciated- Thanks!

I haven't actually done this but I have considered upgrading to an AP in the past and to my understanding, if you use any water park and more features on your original ticket and then upgrade to an AP, you can't upgrade to just a regular AP, you must upgrade to a Premium AP, which will include the water park options. Hopefully someone will come along and verify this or correct me if I'm wrong .

You will have to upgrade the tickets you plan to get to a PAP. If you only plan on going to the WP once then get a 10 day ticket, upgrade to an AP and then use AP for WP discount. If you plan on going multiple times to the WP's and have no desire to go to Disney Quest, then it is cheaper to get an AP and then do a seperate WP AP. Here is the info

Yes confirming - once you use a plus feature on your tickets, you must upgrade to the Premium Annual Pass, not the basic AP.
