Someone told me that if you have days left on a child's park hopper pass, you can get this upgraded to an adult pass for free. I can't seem to find this information anywhere. Does anyone know the upgrade rules for park hopper passes?

Thanks

If you have a child's pass and that child has just turned 10 (necessitating an "adult" pass), then you can take it to the window, with the child, and Guest Relations will indeed update it for free. You will, of course, receive an updated pass with only the same number of days on it as the one you turned in.

HOWEVER ... if you have a random child's ticket left over from a trip, and you take it to the window to update it but there are no children in your party who need the ticket, then you will likely end up paying the difference for the upgrade. This used to be a fairly popular scam -- people would purchase kid tickets to save a few bucks and then take them to Guest Relations to be "upgraded" to adult tickets for free. Guest Relations is much more aware of this these days.

This does not have to be for only a 10 year old. If you went to WDW 20 years ago and you were only 7, you may have a day or two left on your old ticket. You can bring that old ticket along with proof of your age and if the math works out properly (meaning that it shows that you are now 27), they will exchange that child ticket for an adult one.
