Ticket Prices Increasing June 12th!

I still have an 8-day hopper and a 10-day non-expiring hopper that I bought before the August 2009 price increase. My 15-month renewal AP expired in May, so I plan to apply the value of the 8-day hopper to a new AP in October (after using it at the gate). I also have a 7-day Universal/IOA hopper ticket that I bought (@ $102 from AAA) before the 2010 price increase, so I will spend some time there in late 2012 - after my WDW AP expires.

I think even with the price increase Disney is a great value. Can you imagine how much more they are spending in gas to keep all those buses running. Just our famly budget has been affected and had to be rearranged a bit to make up the difference. Use to fill my van for $48.00 now its $62.00. I would rather have a price increase, if I have time to budget it, then a cut in services.

The Charter AP was first issued in the early 1980's. To maintain Charter status, a person has to renew their AP every year. If they skip, they lose Charter status.

If a Charter Passholder marries (or official Civil Union) within one year they can go to Disney with the proof and buy a Charter AP for the spouse, who then will also have Charter status.

If a Charter Passholder has a child, they may purchase a Charter AP for that child prior to the child reaching the 4th birthday. A birth certificate showing the date of birth and that a Charter Passholder is a parent is required. And the child then has Charter status.

Does anyone know if I can still go to the Disney store at our local mall tomorrow (Saturday) and still get the old price on vouchers/tickets?

Chesire Figment, I am looking for your knowledge. I read your sticky, and I'm sorry if I missed the answer in there.

When you upgrade a ticket, will they refund you if the CGP is more than you paid for the ticket?
For example: In my package I have already purchased a 10 day no expiration ticket for my child, which has a current cost of $452. I plan to upgrade it to an AP when I go in August. With the price increase, the AP will cost $478. But at that point, the 10 day no expiration ticket will have a value of $497 after it is used once. Will the difference of $19 be refunded?

Thanks,
Lauren

Normally we do not do refunds when a ticket is modified or upgraded. If it is done, it would be to a Disney Gift Card.

Another question for Cheshire Figment :worship:

We've paid for our trip scheduled in July. Based on board recs I was planning to wait to add park hoppers later. If I add after June 12th, will I pay just the new rate of $55 per or will that change my base MYW ticket as well & I'll have to pay the difference between my package MYW ticket & the new June 12th MYW ticket as well as the park hopper fee.

Just want to make sure I'd only be in for the $55 park hopper increase per ticket & not a $55 + $17 for adult 6-day ticket difference and $21 for child 6-day ticket.

Hope my question makes sense! Just want to make sure adding park hopper doesn't push my MYW base tickets into June 12th prices as well.

THANKS!!!

I have a question about upgrading - I have three ticket MYW package in September. I called today to upgrade two of them to Annual Passes before the price increase, but they told me that I could only do all three tickets over the phone. If I wanted to upgrade only two, I'd have to wait until I got to the parks, but then it'd be after the price increase. Is that true? (the phone rep got some other info wrong and didn't know about the increase so I'm not sure if what she told me was right) Thanks :)

Ditto. If anyone could be so kind as to PM me also, I would really appreciate it! :flower3:

OK, what's the code you need. I want to buy tickets and Under Cover seemed to be more, so do I need the code everyone is talking about?

Thank You.:)

It's not a code, but a link to Undercover Tourist's site from the Mousesavers' newsletter. The savings amount to a few dollars per ticket vs. their regular prices for the general public.

Undercover Tourist's prices are more...than whose? The prices on WDW's web site don't include the 6.5% FL sales tax until you put the tickets in your cart and check out.

I Just wanted to thank all on this board for saving me some cash. I was going to wait until we arrived at Disney in Aug to buy tickets but upon seeing this thread I went ahead and ordered my tickets tonight.

Does anyone know if I will be able to get the tickets put on my room keys or not seeing as they will be bought before checking in? Not a big deal but the less to carry around the better sometimes.

My wife laughed at me for spending so much time on here the last few nights but after telling her that we just saved some pretty good cash due to my reading this here well lets just say she is quite happy for my time well spent.

Ditto. I am still pretty new to the boards so I don't know about special codes. Please explain and send me a code. I have a trip coming up in December and want to get our tickets now. Thanks!!

I had planned on buying my tickets at the park when we arrive later this month and was going to pay for them with Disney gift cards. Does anyone know if I can order and pay for them online with the gift cards? I looked and the only payment options I see are credit cards or Disney Visa Rewards card. Am I just missing something?

Thanks!

You can have you tickets added to your Key to the World card upon checkin. Oh... and tell your wife, there are much worse things on the internet than Disboards. :rotfl:

My husband has been trained not to laugh and just nods his head appropriately when I tell him something I found out or heard on the DIS.

Is there any way to estimate what UT new rates will be with the increased ticket prices? I'm not going until Oct, and hadn't really decided what kind of tickets I wanted to buy yet! I thought I was going to have more time!

Disney banks on people like you holding that line of thinking to keep these increases more palatable. Every year, rain or shine, they do an icrease, usually twice. They do this becasue they are the industry leader, they know they can and people will continue to pay. The mistake is in thinking Disney wants higher numbers, they would prefer fewer people and a higher profit margin on every head that comes through the turnstiles.

At a certain point, the entertainment value can never be recouped based on the cost. There simply arent enough vacation hours available in the day to make it a great value, although many will argue the opposite.
