Cinnamon Sugar Toast takes me back to my childhood every single time - it’s the best! Back when we were kids (I’m referring to all of us here that was born in the 80s or earlier), people weren’t as concerned about kids having a lot of sugar like they are today. I know I didn’t let my girls have as much sugar as I had when I was a kid. The one thing I did let them have was cinnamon sugar toast, but they never liked it as much as I did/do. My older DD preferred Nutella and my younger daughter was never a big toast eater. For those that have never heard of cinnamon sugar toast, or have and don’t know the specifics of it, here ya go…..

Who would have thought there’d be this much info on the topic. I never considered making a spreadable paste - seems like to much extra work. I toast my bread, spread some butter on it and sprinkle this ⬇️ on it and eat it.
IMG_1509.jpeg There’s no broiling or anything fancy. If anyone makes a spreadable paste, I’d love for you tell us about it. It’s definitely time for you all to tell us if you ate or still eat cinnamon sugar toast - it’s good stuff! If you haven’t tried this, you should. Give us your cinnamon sugar good answer today…….

Have you had or still have cinnamon sugar toast?
If yes…..what is your opinion of it?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I love love love cinnamon sugar toast. I don’t eat it a lot, only on some Sundays when my DH makes a big breakfast. Like I said above, it takes me back to my childhood every single time. Do I need the extra sugar, no, but I really watch what I eat all week long, and I refuse to feel guilty about eating my cinnamon sugar toast.

I do like it I don’t recall him in a whole lot as a kid but I’ve had it a few times I can’t recall maybe I made it a few times for my kids it’s just known a thing I make a lot but what I did do was when I made French toast that’s how I ate my French toast with cinnamon and sugar on it absolutely love my French toast like that so as a kid that’s how I ate my French toast
And I treated my kids the same way I got treated as a kid I wasn’t worried about how much sugar they ate I really didn’t regulate it you know some mornings you could have pie for breakfast I wasn’t worried about it that’s how I was treated as a kid I love my kids to eat like that because I knew that they were going to eat a decent lunch in a decent dinner and it wasn’t an everyday thing ymmv

I enjoyed it, but it’s something I never made for my family. I do sprinkle cinnamon sugar into French Toast egg mix.

I've had, oh so many years ago. Like you said, Sandy, unlike today, sugar in so many forms in those days was a meal and snack staple for kids, ha.

We always had a Domino sugar cinnamon bear on the kitchen cabinet shelf, or right there on the kitchen table. Toast some bread, butter it, sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar. Soooo good.

As good as it was, I can't recall now when I last had it. A long time ago. Thanks for the tasty memory, Sandy.

We put the butter on bread with the cinnamon and sugar then broiled it in the oven to toast it.

Kind of related, my grandfather taught me to sprinkle sugar on peanut butter toast. I don’t eat it as an adult but it is amazing. He also put sugar on hush puppies, but that’s another story. He was a lifelong farmer, healthy as a horse ❤️

Around the Holidays last year I saw a flood of finishing sugars in various flavors that could up your toast game. I found a Butterbeer flavor on sale last month that is very good. I found a maple sugar one as well.

Growing up we had cinnamon sugar on French toast. I was an adult before I had any idea some people used maple syrup!

I'll still have cinnamon toast now and then.

We had it a lot as a kid, and it was a semi-staple for DD32 breakfasts when she was a kid. I'll occasionally have cinnamon toast when I'm sick; I guess it's a comfort food. I will also make it occasionally for the LittleGuy's breakfast.

Funny story: I made cinnamon toast for DD once when she was maybe 8-ish. It was a busy morning and I'd thought maybe she could eat the cinnamon toast in the car, on the way to school. Joke was on me: I made her celery-salt toast, not cinnamon toast! We were late to school that day...

Good memories…cinnamon toast was always a special little gesture of love from my DMom to me, and I made it for my own DS with the same sentiments. :flower3:

I can’t remember the last time I made it or had it. DS is home soon from his first year away at college. I’m going to remember this thread and make him some, and definitely a few pieces for myself! :goodvibes

Never had it growing up, but have enjoyed it occasionally as an adult. Have never broiled it though.

Honestly, never had it and never heard of it beyond Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Didn’t know it was a thing beyond that. Learn something new every day!

I like it but only eat it occasionally these days. When the kids were younger. I sprinkled cinnamon sugar on their pancakes as I cooked them which was good. Now I want some cinnamon sugar toast 😀.

I liked it as a kid, just never thought to make it as an adult. My fam just made toast in the toaster and spread the butter/cinnamon/sugar mixture as a topping. Maybe I'll try the oven next time:)

A favorite childhood breakfast. I remember putting it on french toast too. I made up some for my kids, but now I'll buy the premade cinnamon butter once in awhile.

Had it often growing up but I don't eat it now because of the sugar. If I'm going to eat something that spikes my glucose it's gonna be something I enjoy much more.
