The bad news is that I was at TDS today and was told that as of 6/01/03 the gate ticket prices at WDW are going up. Now, for the good news. The ticket media purchased in advance will remain at the same price it is at now. It seems WDW is trying to reward those of us that plan with a bit better discount. Mickey

Do we know how much they are going up. it might be worth it to make a trip to TDS tomorrow.

Well, it's bad news for those who buy when they get there but it doesn't affect me (yet).

I always buy before I go...

I wonder, then will this affect the Length of Stay Passes??????

Thanks for the info.

JMHO but:

-- Ticket prices last went up in September 8, 2002. I highly doubt that WDW would do a second increase less than nine months later. Only time historically that there's been a second increase less than a year later was when a new theme park opened.

--Word of it would come from CRO/WDTC and the resorts before it would come from TDS.

--Doesn't seem likely that Disney would raise prices while giving away free days with the Fairytale package.

--TDS CM's have been by and large the most unreliable source of WDW information.

While I won't say it's impossible (nothing is impossible for Disney ;) ), I think it is highly unlikely to be true.

I called CRO yesterday to ask about AP and PAP passes and advance ticketing before our 7/13 trip. I specifically asked whether prices were going up before then and there was no word then passed on to the CM's. This might just be the incentive I needed, however, to go to the Disney Club site and buy them tomorrow....just in case it is true.

Thanks.

I am a CM at TDS. This is not word of mouth information. The stores were sent all the new information and signage for this. Being that we sell tickets in our stores and have signage that shows price comparison, it is unlikely that TDS would have incorrect information regarding this. It is true that effective June 1st gate prices will be going up and pre purchase prices will remain the same.

Thank you very much for confirming the information and validating the OP!!

I'm so glad this doesn't affect my family. We always buy before we leave for Florida!;)

So if we still call and order them ahead of time, they will stay the same?

Right. If they are purchased in advance, either through Disney's website, over the phone, or at the TDS, the prices will remain the same as they have been. This price increase will only effect tickets purchased at the gate, or at the resorts.

CM Tinkerbell.....Do the stores already have a chart comparing prices with the NEW prices? I'd just like to see what the increase is. I'm still trying to decide between AP and PAP. I'll try to locate a TDS today, but the one I frequented was recently closed.....so I'm not sure where to go. I was going to do the purchase over the phone or online this weekend anyway.

Thanks.

Yes. We do have a chart. I will be working this morning and I would be happy to write down all the information and post it here this afternoon if someone hasen't already done so.

Thanks....that would be cool.......

I'm going to call this am anyway to see if CRO has the updated info yet. But I've got to make a decision on these tickets asap!!!!!! Thanks so much to the OP...if not I'd still be sitting here "thinking about it" till next week after the prices had gone up. That's why you have to be on top of things and on this board. Things change so quickly at WDW!!!

Do you know if this affects AP's? I was going to buy down their since you have to activate it anyway and not make a special trip to the store.

Thanks,
Sandy

We're buying at the resort....but we arrive tomorrow 5/31!!!!

I still can't believe Disney would jack up the prices when hours and bookings are abnormally low.

It most likely will since there is no advance purchase discount on AP's anyway. You pay the same price at TDS as you would pay at the gate. Only discount on AP's is DC and Florida Resident.

Looks like I'll have to make a trip to Orlando tomorrow to renew my daughter's AP at the lower rate...

Thanks a lot for the info!

I just called CRO again - even though I talked to them yesterday. The CM I talked to said they have absolutely NO knowledge of the prices going up on Monday. So what's up?

I have to buy my tickets anyway and will do so just to make sure....but it sure seems strange that CRO wouldn't know about it today if it were going to happen next week.

Sandy,
I just called my local "DISNEY STORE" and she said that
the AP and PAP passes are probably going to go up
$15-30 per pass...I don't know about you, but with my
family of five, I could save possibly $150! Every bit counts
with us! Thanks to the person who started this thread...
How do people make it without this board???

I'm confused. Even at the Disney Store, they (APs) will be more or just in Florida?

Well, I didnt think this increase affected me as I buy all tickets/APs at the Disney Store, but I guess I was wrong??

I'm still wondering how this increase will affect the Length of Stay Passes that people tend to buy when they get to their resort?
