Tiana's Riverboat Party Ice Cream Social and Parade Viewing Starts Nov. 29th

rode the boat today, around 1pm. The best view would be if the boat moved forward just a bit from the dock. These pics were taken from the middle level, II think people on the bottom levell will see very little. Keep in mind that in pictures things look a bit farther. In person you are far but it's not that you can't make out who is who. For these pics I was standing in the middle of the boat, right where you go on board

the other area it might stop at is by Country Bears, this one has a lot more trees

First shot is not bad ... but I still wouldn't consider it special viewing.

I think the first pic is where the parade makes a turn that would be more towards the boat. That would make it possible for a good view and possibly some waves from the performers..

My daughter is obsessed with Tiana and we've seen the parade tons of times, so I booked this for her birthday mommy/daughter trip in March. Can't wait to hear reviews!

As a stockholder I say go Disney. As a parkgoer I don't get it at all as the view does not look great and when it is warm out it is really hot on the boat. Definitely a different strokes for different folks thing IMHO. I do hope those that attend enjoy it though and on the plus side that is less people in my way for a street spot.

Looking forward to reading reviews of this. It sounds lovely, and it might be our add-on for the trip if they extend the dates.

This could be a fun thing to do if still available in May. We have a few MK days and have seen the parade a few times so the view would just be something a little different. Could be fun! Looking forward to reviews and then see if they extend it.

Some things really only make sense to Disney fans and I think even some fans are hitting that boiling point. There is no way I'll be paying money for crappy view of the parade even if they throw in some ice cream to a meet and greet I was able to do for free. Thanks but not thanks.

Now having an attraction close a couple hours of the day for an upsell event set a terrible precedent for things to come...

YEs, Disney fans do see things differently, that's for sure! I am not sure how I feel about the boat closure, though. On the one hand, I seldom see it filled to capacity, and honestly, it is down a lot when I visit anyway. I just do nto know if I am comfortable that Disney has decided to deliberately close an attraction to sell it to guests.

I disagree. The boat will be closed for three hours. We always ride the Riverboat mid afternoon. This upsell will definitely impact our family.

Three hours is a long time IMO. I like the riverboat and try to ride it every trip.

I am on the fence about this event though.

I think it's probably closer to 4 hours:( They said 2 hours before the parade and 1 hour after, and then there's the actual parade time. That's about 1/3 of the time the boat is open, assuming it opens at 8 or 9am and closes at 8pm, which is usually the case.

The operation times for the Liberty Belle boat have been adjusted. So for example next week it's operating from
10:00AM-1:30PM
4:00PM-8:00PM
on a non party night. The opening times fluctuate from 9 to 10 to 11am

So its down for 2.5 hours. I figured it woudl be longer.

so, if you are supposed to show up 45 minutes before the parade, meet Tiana/Naveen, then they leave for the parade, then they come back and ride the boat with you.... and the party lasts for another hour after the parade... that's 1 hour 45 minutes on the boat right? With little kids drinking pop and eating ice cream.... on a boat with no bathrooms.... unless guests are free to come and go from the boat as they please to use the bathroom (except when it is in motion obviously), does anyone see the potential for disaster here?

A very good point. I need to go to the washroom just thinking about this.....:rotfl:

I've been creeping through Instagram trying to find some posts on this.

It looks like Tiana and Naveen meet on the dock - not on the actual boat. It is decorated with purple/green/gold bunting. ETA: pictures are popping up of them on the boat. But I'm guessing the official photo is on the dock.

The boat (during a test run a few days ago) did not move down the river - it was still at the dock for the parade.

The cupcakes are cute. It looks like the ice cream may be a make-your-own sundae style bar. The popcorn is mardi gras colored, though not sure what the flavors of the purple/green ones are as the sign just says 'candy popcorn'. There's a fancy autograph card. Assorted Sodas are listed as Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, and Bottled Water. There's also a lemonade drink.

Right now that's all that's showing up.
