Tiana's Riverboat Party Ice Cream Social and Parade Viewing Starts Nov. 29th

OMG just watched the video on the review and the little girl screaming the name of each character to gain their attention broke my heart :( I hope they got to see the parade another day.
Seriously this is not the package to do if you are watching FoF for the first time or cannot watch it another day during your stay. I see it more geared to repeat guests, that want a different perspective, I know my DD16 will want to bring her camera for this

We all had a pretty good idea that parade viewing would not be good from this location.

So just how is it that the people who work for Disney Parks and created this didn't question that, and go down to watch for themselves before offering this to the public?

The parade viewing is an absolute joke. I feel so bad for that little girl, and for the parents who paid a lot of money only to have their child crying in the Magic Kingdom that day.

I just watched the video. Disney PR should purchase the video to destroy it, and scrub all remnants from the internet.

It should be worded differently so that people know what to expect, especially those unfamiliar with the park

Yes, definitely. Anyone planning to use this as their primary parade viewing is going to be leaving disappointed.

I keep hearing that us knowledgeable posters are the minority at WDW and most are first time visitors. No first time visitor will read the current description and have a realistic idea about the parade viewing piece of this event.

I'll be very curious to see where they go with this.

It's hard what they can do know.
Right now we are not that crowded so they could rope off an area for viewing on the street without causing major problems but once mid Dec. hits it will be impractical. They could also tell entertainment to wave "that way" I only saw one character, the birdlady on the last float, wave towards the Riverboat.
I see a lot of people asking for refunds.

I would have been in the refund line. I hope someone saw that video and got that family VIP seating at another parade. But they certainly can't do that for everyone, so that's not great either.

And what's with the autograph cards? You used to be able to get their autographs in the park. They remove them from the park, make them part of this paid event, and now you can't even ask for an actual autograph?

.

Boooo Disney! I can't believe they waited until the debut to evaluate the parade viewing. they should be ashamed of themselves.

I am stunned that these characters don't sign autographs. Pathetic!

I believe they do them at special events to move the line faster I have an Aurora and Phillip one on my magnetic white board from Sweethearts Week during the Limited Time Magic promotion (the other two prince/princess pairs handlers only gave cards to the little kids for some reason)

But that wasn't a paid event, right? I would expect an upcharge event like this to allow actual autographs. I can see the cards occasionally at special events open to the entire park population, but not this.

they've done the autograph cards for other paid events, the ones that come to mind are the Star Wars villains breakfast, you got a card autographed by Vader and Boba Fett and both Villains events that happened at DHS
I don't mind the card, to me it's actually better cause you get more time with the character instead of them just using that time to sign, to Disney I believe the pre-signed cards are a waste of money.

I don't think Disney does the cards to give you more character time. I think they do them to speed things up.

yeah, it speeds things up because if people want to talk more with the characters they can. Each meet is about 30 seconds to a minute, if some of that time is taken away by signing then you have less time. True that most people just want a pic and that's it, some will engage in conversation, especially with face characters. I just think it's more efficient. Now cards for all meets is something I don't think we will ever see

If I'm paying $49 for a M&G, I want a signed autograph, not a pre-printed card.

:sad:Well that video! Although i am not surprised at all this was a terrible idea for parade viewing from the beginning. Of course Disney saw the only way that this was going to attrack the non -disers where to add that parade viewing. I don't see first timers or casual goers paying $50 for a meet and greet with some ice cream. I think this will kill the event but the upsells will continue... monorail dinning anyone ?
