Tiana's Bayou Adventure Opening Day

There today, unable to get a boarding group for 7am and 12pm, didn't try for 4pm. Rode the train around 10:30am just to see the inside, and the ride was not running. Honestly, it was cold today but beautiful; I didn't need to ride it, as I rode it once during previews, although it broke down then too.
I was mostly upset mobile order for Tiana's Palace was sold out, only available for late evening, as we wanted to try the new movie based beignets and the catfish po'boy for lunch.

Oh no! What time did you try to order?

I got to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure today! It was a really cute ride, but we got soaked! The sign should say: you will get wet, you might get soaked. We wore ponchos but pretty much any place that wasn’t covered (so lower legs, feet, and faces) were wet.

What was your boarding number and what time did your boarding group get called back?

I'm not sure what happened during the day but we were walking by after Fantasmic and the ride had to be evacuated. It was shortly before 10 pm and the CM were telling the people in line that since the ride closes at 10 pm anyway, it was unlikely that it will reopen this evening.

I am wondering why the attraction is not open during the entire operating hours. Maybe because the attraction is new and there would be downtime. I also noticed that the attraction will be open during the park's full operating hours starting on Friday, Dec. 20th. I am wondering if there will be a Virtual Queue on the 20th.

I thought you would be interested. Is it open all day at WDW?

Here are a few photos from just after 10 pm with lights on. There was a log at the top, just about ready to drop, when the ride shut down.

The line during the day started across from Hungry Bear. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I didn't see them using much of the queue with the picket fences by Ray's Berets. Instead, it wrapped back and forth near the new Louis' Critter Club store.

A large percentage were wearing ponchos. Very few had changed shoes. :scared:

Thanks for the pics!!
Looks very nice!!
Yes Tiana's is open for the full operating hours and is available for after hours events at Magic Kingdom/WDW.

While waiting for the first parade so around 12pm, I believe. I figured a window would be available around 1:30pm, but it was dinner. Looking back, I should have placed the order and tried to modify the time. We ended up having dinner at DCA via FOTH.

On Friday, I heard someone saying that Jolly Holiday mobile order was full by 9 am. On Saturday, I tried to place a mobile order for Harbour Galley cookies and it was not available within minutes of the the park opening. I think it is because they sell the gingerbread houses with the cookies there. I tried for Jolly Holiday on Saturday morning and was able to place an order for later in the day.

The app was super glitchy both days. Many times, the mobile order option wouldn't load. Both days, I could check in to tell them to prepare my order, but I never got a blue screen to go to a window and pick up my food. I waited until after my window lapsed and walked up to a CM to ask for help. The weird thing is that I wasn't ordering anything complicated. On Friday, I only ordered a drink and macaron. On Saturday, it was only pre-made desserts. :confused3

I'm surprised I'm not seeing more head lines about how bad of a opening day this had....I had group 45 and was not called until almost 4 PM....not even sure if the noon and 3 PM VQ even happened

For the ticket prices and the fact this is a LOG ride, its to me insane they just get away with this......if it was a new ride it happens but this is a 30 year old log ride...insane they can't get it to work.

Looks like you could pick up some free ponchos for the next day if you happened to go by Tiana's around closing...
If Disneyland were smart, they would offer them at boarding and recycle them as people got off. It seems like a waste and I'm sure there's a way to quickly sanitize/dry them!! (think of all the glasses, etc. on 3-D rides) Also, I sure wish they'd put lockers near this and near Grizzly River Rapids (like they have a WDW) just for people to store some stuff. Even a waterproof hole on GRR in the middle would help.

Grizzly River Run (DCA) does have lockers available to use, located right behind the massive wood bear standing in front of the entrance to the queues. Agree, given the reports of how wet Tiana's is, they should have thought to install some there but then again, I'm not sure where that would have been possibly given the current footprint of everything over there...
