Tiana's Bayou Adventure Opening Day

Some families were exiting as if they all jumped in a pool together.

No reason to ride again but hopefully they can adjust the water levels. Grizzly is actually less wet than Tiana when the ending geyser is turned off.

I sure wish they'd put lockers near this and near Grizzly River Rapids (like they have a WDW) just for people to store some stuff. Even a waterproof hole on GRR in the middle would help.
Grizzly River Run (DCA) does have lockers available to use, located right behind the massive wood bear standing in front of the entrance to the queues.
Yep, they've been there since DCA opened.

As for a waterproof place to put stuff during the ride, I could swear that there used to be a covered area in the center wheel. Am I imagining things? When I went on GRR last week, I put my knapsack in that hole anyway, with the water resistant side up, and hoped for the best.

I hope those of you who've gotten drenched on TBA will provide feedback to Disney. Adjust the water, install lockers near the ride, or both. I got pretty wet on Splash a couple of times but this sounds worse and more consistent.

I agree. Of course there is no motivation for them to fix it the VQ sells out in seconds and it keeps drawing long wait times

Probably. The rafts at Kali River Rapids do have a plastic-and-velcro sealed storage cubby in the middle, but I don't think the ones at Grizzly ever have.

Are they strictly enforcing return times for the Virtual Queue?

I know that they haven't been enforcing at all for Haunted Mansion, but I'm guessing they'll be more strict, at least initially, for Tiana's.

We're thinking about doing a quick trip to take in the holiday atmosphere and entertainment, arriving in the evening on a Monday, full day Tuesday, leave at the crack of dawn Wednesday. We don't want to pack too many extra clothes or drag home wet clothes (may be flying Frontier with just a personal item), so ideally we'd ride late Monday night before ending our night, get soaked and have time for those clothes to dry Tuesday. If I get a virtual queue Monday morning from home, is there a possibility we'd be able to ride Monday night even though our group will have long-since been called?

If anyone is wondering… you still get soaked…

I rode it today and got row one… the moment the CM told me the number the things that might happen played in my head and sure enough I got a gigantic wave swapping right over me…(yes, literally over my head towards row two)

But I was prepared thanks to this thread… I wore rain pants and a rain jacket and a poncho…(used the same outfit for GRR,but GRR definitely has a much tamer winter-mode…)… because I was expecting a wave I tightened the poncho as much as I could and only peeked through a small gap… had that hole been any bigger a lot of water would have swapped right in my neck, but I sealed it enough to stay dry… but still it was a close call and despite my full rain gear I would have needed to go change at the hotel if I hadn’t been warned…

Nice thing I observed: a lot of people were giving their used ponchos to the next person still waiting…that’s at least some Christmas spirit…

I thought about rain pants as well. But then wondered do I really want to invest all that money for one ride?

Well, I still had them from my last Disney winter trip…(there was a heavy storm around with lots of quite heavy rain…)
I brought cheap ponchos for about $1… and they are actually better than the Disney ones because the don’t have those cut outs on the sides…

If you go by mid day and wear shorts or change your pants and flip flops a poncho is enough…

I was happy about the rain pants to keep my pants dry because I rode in the late afternoon and I feel like it’s freezing cold at night…
(I hate to admit that… because I have no idea why I feel soo cold here… wearing like 4 layers that is.. I honestly don’t know how I will survive visiting a Christmas market next week at home where it’s like 32 F…)

Last time I rode Grizzly I changed into leggings before I rode and then back into my jeans when I was done. I forgot to bring my water shoes, which I hope to not forget this time.

How humid is it where you live? (Germany?) Anaheim is close enough to the ocean that the moisture from the ocean may be making you feel colder than a drier environment of the same temperature would. Looks like it's in the mid-50s Fahrenheit at the moment, which isn't very cold, but 58% humidity.

Here now and agree with this. We live near Boise and I never feel as cold as I do in Anaheim right now! Lol. It’s much drier in Idaho. In Anaheim I feel damp in the morning and evening. I was cold last night in a tshirt, spirit jersey and hoodie. I went back to our room and got my down jacket. Lol.

We rode Tiana’s yesterday. We got group 106 at the noon drop (we got a 7am VQ for Haunted Mansion and rode before noon) We got in line around 2:02 and it took about an hour to wait in line and ride the ride. We got seats 5 and 6. We had ponchos and brought plastic shopping bags for our feet. We got the most wet on the first drop outside. Other than that, our ponchos and bags saved us. Our log was not full of water thankfully. The people in the front of our log were absolutely drenched. They also didn’t have ponchos.

Hope that info helps!

How fast did you have to be to get your VQ spots?

I'm going to try your plastic bag idea for the shoes!

My husband did the noon VQ for Tiana’s. He wasn’t all that fast because he was trying to screen record it. Ha!

For the 7am drop for HMH, I pretty much refreshed right at 7am and got boarding group 15. But we didn’t ride until later because HMH was down for a good chunk of the morning. We rode before noon. But it was a lot later than we anticipated. But it worked out. We got the gingerbread cookies at harbour galley right before we hopped in line. ☺️

Thanks! I definitely want to do those rides but I've never done a VQ before. The gingerbread cookies sound great :)
