Thrifty - why does 5 days = 1 week?

I'm trying to book a 5 day rental from 10/14-18 from Thrifty. But when I query for the price, it comes up as weekly rental, which seems to be more than 7x's the daily rate. How can I book this as a 5 day?

That's the way it is....5, 6, or 7 days usually = one week.

I had this same problem when I tried to book our Christmas rental car throught Thrifty. We will be at WDW for 11 days but Thrifty was charging me for two weeks. I ended up booking National which did give me a one week rate plus the extra daily rate. This time National proved to be cheaper than Thrifty.

odd, using primarily experience w/alamo & national the weekly rate (5 - 7 days) is far less than the daily rate X 5.

1. Book with someone else, who has a lower total price.

2. Inquire of Thrifty the question you asked here.

3. In the event Thrifty lowers their total price in time for your trip, cancel the reservation you booked elsewhere and book with Thrifty.

That has been my experience with Thrifty. In my case it was 6 days = a weekly rate which was well less than 5 X daily rate.

I would just keep shopping the various rental outfits. I might pay to clear your cookies before hitting a site the second time.

Car Rental wackiness. If you rent Monday through Thursday, 4 days, your total can be DOUBLE what the weekly 5 to 7 day total is !

5 days equals one week mainly because business travelers usually rent Mon-Fri (5 days). With companies or government paying for someone's business trip they can charge a week's worth for 5 days travel and get it.

I never heard of a weekly rate that exceeded the cost of fewer days at the daily rate, unless the assumed weekend span went over into a more expensive season or holiday not included in the shorter time span you were really interested in.
