Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good morning :)

Light pink carnations that are budding are my favorite flower.

Dad has shared the jacaranda trees on our street are blooming. Their leaves are both lighter and darker purple. Dad said he will take a picture. I will post it when he does.

Pastel colors remind me of Spring and Easter, my favorite time of year. I am going to wear a light pink T shirt today, my favorite color.

DD18s Nursery - I'm not much of a pastel person but the bedding set I'd selected involved a pale pastel yellow, so that wound up being the color of her walls. I normally prefer a bright yellow, but the soft yellow was soothing and I was so happy to find something I loved that didn't involve more traditionally girly colors.

Glider & Ottoman - I had this super comfy pastel blue gingham swivel glider and ottoman that I used in both girls' nurseries. It matched both of their color palettes and made those middle of the night sessions much more tolerable.

Pink Trimmed Shorts - OK this is sort of a backwards one, but several months ago, DD16 asked for more athletic shorts for school weight room and conditioning days. They're only allowed black shorts and any trim needs to be white. I found a pair that was on sale but the trim was technically a pale pastel pink. It looked kind of like I accidentally ran whites with something red that lightly bled. In any event, the pastel pink was light enough that it passed for the coaches and I wound up saving about $20.

1. Pastel nail polish - i absolutely adore pastel colours on nails, they look so pretty and even better when you mix them up with a different colour on each nail. Such a great way to feel brighter after winter.

2. Pastel blue outfit - I've got a gorgeous 2 piece pastel blue outfit (top and knee length skirt) that not only looks wonderful, but makes me feel fabulous when I'm wearing it.

3. Jaws Loungefly - I have a Jaws loungefly backpack that is partially pastel coloured (it glows in the dark) and I love it, out of all the Loungeflys out there its still one of my favourites.

Today we have both:IMG_8587.jpeg
So if either of these apply to you, please go with them! If not, we finally have a sunny day after a lot of grey skies here, so there's a third option:

Today's Topic Choices (5/24) -
  • 3 things you're grateful about your brother(s)
  • 3 things you're grateful about your home (or vacation) state of Wyoming
  • 3 things you're grateful for about a sunny day after rain

Good Saturday Morning

I’m picking my stats - Indiana

#1 - Home of The Indy 500 - This is my DH’s favorite weekend of the year. He started going to the race at 7yrs old and he’s never missed a year. Our wedding was planned after it, our kids were planned to be born anytime except May and I hope if I die before him it’s not in May, or I’ll be put on ice until June 🤣😂

#2 - The Indiana Dunes National Park - I live relatively close to The Dunes, which is a neat place to visit.

#3 - Close to Lake Michigan - This is for me since I’m in NW Indiana. I like being close to water. I visited Lake Michigan beaches many times as a kid and taking my girls when they were younger. It gives you a tropical feel in a state that has nothing tropical about it - LOL!

Good morning :)

Definitely after the rain rainbows dear WDWEPCOT.

I am an only child. Dad has gotten a bit closer to his brother in recent years for which I am grateful.

CA is home. Besides, our favorite mouse lives not all that far from me.

Seen as I've never been to Wyoming and don't particularly get on with my brother, I'll go with after the rain.

1. The rain fills up the old flower pot my cat uses for drinking water, meaning I dont have to fill it up for her. She does get a nice bowl of fresh tap water inside the house but apparently rain water in a plant pot is better... 🙄

2. My plants get watered so I dont have to get the hose pipe out.

3. Generally just grateful for a nice sunny day after the rain, especially when it's been pouring it down. Nothing better than being able to go out for a long walk in the sun after the rain!
