Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Happy Friday everyone!

God willing I will be able to shower one day sooner than later. Until then I sure am grateful to a larger baby wipe for twice a day cleaning. I also am extra thankful for hand wipes right now too. Dad and I like Target Up and Up brand.

Kroger brand from Ralphs dry shampoo sure has become a blessing to me right now.

Johnson and Johnson pink baby lotion is once again part of my daily routine. It's gentle and smells sweetly comforting.

I'm not much into personal care/pampering products, but I use Oil of Olay Regenerist regenerating serum. I like it best for under my makeup. It's getting harder and harder to find, though. Most recently I've had to resort to ordering thru Amazon (boo!). Other than that? I don't use any special soaps or skin lotions, just whatever I happen to have on hand. For a while I was using a lot of Bath and Body Works products, but as I've aged, the scents started to bother me, so I don't use much of their stuff anymore.

OH WAIT!! I buy the B&BW foaming pump hand soaps. I guess that's "pampering," right? I only buy when there's a sale so I'll order 10 or 12 bottles a couple of times a year. We (there are 5 of us, 2 bathrooms) use it for handwashing at the bathroom sink. The resident 8 year old is less resistant to taking the time to wash his hands if he can get a pump of foamy soap.

I used to be all about all sorts of personal care items, but I've really simplified over the years. We live in such a humid climate that most creams and lotions are actually a recipe for skin issues here. I guess I should be grateful for that!

Bath and Bodyworks Body Sprays - I just received my annual holiday coupons. I don't think they're as good as previous years, but pretty much everyone gets a couple of bottles as stocking stuffers. DD16 really relies on them so she doesn't stink things up too much in the car after games and practices.

Sunscreen - While my skin cancer excision results showed little to no sun damage in the impacted area, I am still grateful for good products that help shield me from the damage of the sun's rays.

Dermaplane/Microblade - I recently shifted away from bleaching, waxing, tweezing and razors for facial matters in favor of these blade based tools. So far, I really like them and it's much kinder to my skin than the wax and bleach.

For the non math lovers out there, the Fibonacci sequence is the one where you add up the last two numbers to get the next one, so it goes:

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8....

Today's Challenge (Saturday, 11/23) is to come up with things you're grateful that come in ones, pairs, and threes (the first four numbers of the sequence)

Ex: I'm grateful for -
(1) my house
(1) my cell phone
(2) warm mittens (come in pairs)
(3) my little family (there are 3 of us)

Fibonacci series have always freaked me out a bit. It's amazing to me that this complex relationship of numbers exists in a variety of natural settings (spiral shells, fern heads, sunflower seeds, etc) but also a little... disturbing? I don't know, it just unsettles me a bit, I guess. Anyhow... on to the assignment!!

1- my laptop
1- the resident 8 year old (step-grand, and potentially the only one)
2- our cars
3- I have 3 pairs of glitter crocs: Multicolor silver, gold, and purple/green/blue
I'm gonna keep going cuz it's a rainy Saturday and nobody is awake yet. I know not all these are a number of things, humor me, it's been a bad week...
5- fingers
8- octopus arms- I love octopus, I think they are amazing, intelligent creatures, so incredible to watch!
13- A baker's dozen of donuts or cookies!
21- Drinking age!
34- Country code for calling Spain
55- National speed limit during the Arab oil embargo in the 1970s
89- A documentary following the Arsenal football (soccer) team's first divisional title.
144- A gross is a dozen dozen, 144 of anything... eggs are sold by the gross, although I'd prefer donuts!!
OK, DH is awake and has brought my coffee, I'll stop now... Have a great weekend!

Happy Saturday Friends

#1 - Our Puppy - Who’s currently sitting on my lap. I didn’t realize how much we missed having a dog until we brought him home, especially now that he’s maturing and calming down some.

#2 - My Winter Baseball Style Hat - This hat is the best! I got it from Amazon and I wear it a lot every winter. It covers my ears, which is great too.

#3 - Pair of Sophie Socks - Years ago my DH bought me socks with Yorkies on them. They are very special to me now that Sophie has passed away. I always think of my sweet girl when I wear them.

#4 - Three Reindeer Ornaments - These ornaments are beautiful, and every year I wish I bought more than three twenty years ago. I just put them on the tree last night, which is why I thought of them.

1. My house 🏠❤️

1. My Car 🚘

2. My Cats 🐈‍⬛

3. The 3 baking potatoes 🥔 I get at the store so yummy - they come in a pkg 3 to a pkg

5. My Disney Starbucks cups - yes I have five and use them all

8. My 4 sets of my most favorite earrings - I can wear 3 sets a day - so I’m all set for the rest of my life !!

1 - My DH - we've been through a lot together, but way more goods than bads!
1 - My job - I love my job and other than 2 months of the year (coming right up - Dec and Jan), it's not to stressful and most days I look forward to going in!

2 - my two parents - even though my dad passed years ago, I'm thankful for him every day, he was a great role model and parent!

3 - my 3 kids - so thankful I was picked to be their mom!

Little toiletry bags - I really like the little tiny ones I just purchased a couple at the China Pavilion and the Japanese Pavilion at Epcot always finding good uses for them To hold small things so they’re not floating around in my purse

Little tiny containers not just for traveling but I do use them a lot for traveling but again I like to use them to hold maybe a few pills some Alieve or Tylenol and put it in my purse

Appetizers - I’m not a big eater so a lot of times I order my meal from the appetizers

My new home - we recently moved and this weekend we were able to put up my son's drums and keyboard in his bedroom and it made me emotional because he's never had space to practice before! And the little one has a playroom with all his dressing up stuff hanging up instead of a box in the cupboard he can't really access. It makes me so grateful that they have what we didn't have growing up.

My view - my desk now faces trees and I see birds every day ☺️

Warm cups of tea - nothing that can't be fixed by tea but maybe that's just being a Brit haha

Good Monday Morning!

#1 - My Bed - I love the layers of bedding for me to sleep under - top sheet, blanket and comforter.

#2 - My Mom’s 7 Layer Salad - I can’t eat it anymore, but when I did, I really enjoyed it. I’m very grateful that she takes the time to make it for different family gatherings that we have. I know it takes her a lot of time so I’m grateful that she makes that.

#3 - Winter Outfits - i’m one of those people that’s always cold, so I do enjoy my warm winter outfits. I especially love cardigans for work, so I normally will have a tank top (that’s like an undershirt for me), a turtleneck, and then my cardigan. Those three layers help keep me warm.
