Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Seeing lots of great authors in the previous posts but I have to take it in a different direction - action, spies, cloak and dagger, good guys kick butt, USA! USA! etc.

1) Mark Greaney - author of the Grey Man series. Actually trains with the military to prepare for his books. Knows the
difference between a magazine (not the kind you read) and a clip. If you know, you know.

2) Vince Flynn - RIP. So glad other authors have continued the Mitch Rapp character.

3) Tom Clancy - RIP. A master at his craft and again, so glad others have continued to breathe life into the characters he
created long ago.

A little self indulgence, Brad Thor, Brad Metzler, Clive Cussler.

My bed - I often get up at night and I have bad eyesight -too lazy to pop a light on and the glasses (you know where I’m going ) so I just drag my hand around my bed to find my way - it’s got a huge footboard

My dog - morning routine - my dog gets a mini massage every morning! I enjoy him shedding copious amounts of his hair in the bedroom 🤣🤣 i like telling him how much he’s spoiled Princess 👑

Super plush soft blanket - nothing better than curl up with one to watch tv or as it’s better known fall asleep in the chair !!!

Good Thursday Morning!

#1 - My DD20 & DH - especially at church when we hold hands during The Lord’s Prayer - makes me emotional every time.

#2 - Our Guinea Pig - I love petting her - she’s so soft and fluffy

#3 - Play Doh - I used to love playing with Play Doh with the girls. There‘s something so satisfying about squishing new Play Doh. I really look forward to playing around with this with grandkids one day.

Things you touch -

1. Family with hugs - my family has never really been "huggers" but DDs boyfriend is a hugger and he's kind of turned us into huggers too. Every time we see them and when we leave, we're giving hugs and I really like it!

2. Another vote for soft blankets. DS gave me a Christmas throw this year and it is so soft and comfy. I still have it out and use it every night while watching tv. Not sure when I'll put it away lol!

3. My dresser getting into bed at night. I always feel around for it in the dark so that I don't stub my toe on the bed climbing in.

Dog- Furry bedtime snuggles usually makes it easier to fall asleep.
My bed- I usually sleep in our guest room due to a number of issues. I don't really appreciate how much I love the feel of that bed until my parents stay with us for a bit and I have to choose between the ultra firm bed in the master bedroom, one of the sofas, or the inflatable.
Furry/fluffy boots- It's not that it gets particularly cold here, but I love the cozy feel of winter boots.

1420Elexismic, I still enjoy reading the Boxcar books and have about 20. PollyannaMom and I last year enjoyed reading a few children's books together (including a Boxcar book) and then discussing them. How fun that would be to do again. If any of you are up for this let me know. PM me.

Three things I can touch

Holy Bible and Devotional
Dad with a hug
Warm blanket and cup of cocoa

TGIF Friends

Not including family, which is what I’m most grateful for….

#1 - Friends - I’m so blessed and grateful for many friends. Several are here on The DIS ❤️

#2 - Florida - We have lots of great memories that were made in that state. In about 8 weeks we’ll be making some more.:goodvibes

#3 - Furnace - you don’t know how much you love it until it’s gone. That happened to us 2 years ago in January - we were wearing winter coats, gloves and hats in the house for 3 days 🥶

Fridays...at least for people who work (M-F) or are in school, and see it as the gateway into their weekend of fun and relaxation.
Fish...It's been ages since I've had an aquarium and now have to rely on things like the Deerfield Beach underwater cam to get my fix, but I just love to watch them.
Fall...We don't exactly get real fall here, but I know I can travel to see good fall colors and I just love that vibe. It's not quite yet the holidays, but everything starts shifting to pumpkin spice and Halloween mode. There's rarely any fall crispness in the air here like I'd get up north, but fall usually marks a break in the oppressive heat.

Internet's back! ...Therefore, so am I! It wasn't really a problem without it, but it did feel weird. Shows how reliant you can become.

Anyway, I really hope 2024 is going well for you all.

Beginning with F: -
Family & friends
Fresher, crisper, colder - drier - air from today
Freezer (especially when there are homemade meals and ice creams in there! ;))

And things you touch: -
Silk pillowcase
Clothes and footwear that feel good on
Oils and lotions
A splash of clean, cold water on my face
Device screens, keyboards etc.
Play Doh (I haven't touched - or smelled! - it in a long time. I'd be tempted to get a pot, but I'm in the processing of decluttering!)
Warms sand running through your fingers...
