Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I'm waaaayyyyyy behind here!

Three R things-
-Reading- along with 'riting and 'rithmetic. I'm grateful we live in a time when girls are educated, and have a great ed system. PLUS I love to get in bed at night and read!

-Rye bread- what else would I put my Reubens on?

-Ramen soup- one of the local taprooms, of all places, makes a killer tonkotsu ramen!

October things-
-Crisp sunny mornings

-My fuzzy socks and sweaters- it's finally cool enough to snuggle down into them at night

-NO SNOW YET!! (...although it can happen around Halloween)

Buildings-
-What used to be the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University. It held about 23K for basketball and about 65K for football. With a bunch of die-hard Orange fans in here, the place was really rocking. We also saw Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones here!

-Animal Kingdom Lodge/Jambo House- The architecture is fascinating and the overall vibe is so calming to me. We can't afford to stay here often (I'm at ASMusic in November) but I love to stop by, sit in the lobby, and just soak in the atmosphere.

-My home, I guess. I don't really love it but I knew it'd be a good size for us, and it is so full of things (and we are about to fill it more with a recliner arriving this week to help DH's recuperation from shoulder surgery). I feel like the walls are moving in on me and I know there is no way to alleviate this without putting in some serious sweat equity. STILL... I am grateful for a roof over my head, space for my stuff, a warm, dry spot to keep us out of the elements, and that we have enough room so DD, her husband, and his now-7 year old could move in with us when finances and rent hikes put them in dire straits.

Animal Kingdom Lodge fell in love with that hotel the minute they built it it is absolutely gorgeous it was my first DVC purchase but I was staying there long before it was a DVC something about being able to go out on your veranda and seeing animals like it would in an African safari It’s just amazing to me I think it’s one of the most beautiful hotels on this new property
Not that DISNEY is slacking on beautiful hotels - they have several just pick a theme you’ll find a beautiful hotel
I’m almost grateful for my house whether it’s this house a different house but whatever house it is it’s the house I’m living in I’m grateful to have one! I’m grateful to be in shelter and not homeless!
I’m grateful that I have stores close by I don’t have to drive real far to get to stores I still have the feel of being in suburbia but have stores close by and it doesn’t look like a huge strip mall or anything like that just a few stores but enough to meet your needs

Good Morning!
It’s the start of a new week

#1 - I’m grateful for my house - I loved it the minute I walked in the front door almost 20 years ago.

#2 - I’m grateful for my church - It has many many windows for natural light, which makes everything brighter and more alive feeling - I just love it.

#3 - I’m grateful for the athletic building at my DD20’s college - why you ask? Because it’s right next to the softball field and is unlocked for us spectators to use the bathroom. Why is this a big deal? Because for 12 years before college ball we were all using nasty port a potties during travel and high school seasons. Now we have nice heated bathrooms, sinks with soap and hot water and a lobby with windows so you can watch the game a few minutes in the warmth. College season starts the middle of February and my DD plays in Northern Indiana - there are times the players are shoveling snow off the field. Those heated bathrooms are something to be very grateful for.

Forgot I never typed my own answers yesterday -

The different houses I lived in as a kid, because I think it nurtured my sense of adventure

DH's parents' house, because of the many family gatherings that have happened there

Museums & Aquariums, because they're fun to go to, but also because the buildings themselves are often really cool designs

And on to today's -

Family ❤️
Friends 💛
French Fries 🍟

Good Tuesday Morning!

#1 - I’m grateful for food (all food) - we can’t live without it.

#2 - I’m grateful for flowers - they make the world a lot prettier to look at

#3 - I’m grateful for my faith - it gives me strength and comfort always. My life would be empty without it.

#4 (bonus) - I’m grateful for my family - we’ve had some difficult times the last couple years, in regards to DD25, and we’ve become a stronger family unit to help us get through these tough times. I’m very grateful for that.

I've just googled and your Marathon bar was what we call a Curly Wurly!

Yes, that looks the same!!

And now I'm in trouble, because apparently I can order them through Amazon. :rotfl:

I think I'll wait until we're not having a heat wave, as I'm sure they'd melt on my porch, but I put it on my list so I can order some (and maybe the Wispa that popped up too  ) this fall.

Quoting some old posts here because I did place an order now that the weather is cooler, and my Curly Wurly's came yesterday. I just had one after my lunch, and it was delicious - perfectly what I remember!!! Very grateful to you, @Tink-osophy, for the recommendation!
