Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Morning dear friends :) I love all the R responses already! Thank you all, always, for keeping this lovely kind thread going!

My Rock and my Redeemer Who for me is Jesus!
Reading!
Respect, definitely resiliency, reliability, and radios can be handy, too!
Razzle, a stuffed animal dinosaur
Red couch where I spend a lot of each day reading or watching TV on.
Refrigerators and restrooms are sure both very handy inventions!
Grandma loved all candy especially Reese's. She did semi enjoy Rollo's, too.
I almost forgot, a favorite fun game, Rack-O!

How could I forgotten to list that one!!

Reese‘s peanut butter cups❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Definitely - especially the pumpkin-shaped ones. (Had my first one of the season yesterday!) I don't know what the minute difference is, but they just taste extra special.

Reading, and in our house, I have a reading room!
Admitting I'm a little jealous there. My "dream home if I win the lottery" definitely has a library in it!! But I also love to read outside 🌞 🌷 🌻 🐦 so my front porch is kind of my reading room right now, and it's pretty cool.

(Mon, 9/25) - 3 foods or cooking-related things you're grateful for
1. Home cooked dinners from my mom most evenings (Yes, I realize I am incredibly spoiled in this aspect of my life. Ha!)
2. Snacks
3. Cheese
(I almost said breakfast, lunch, and dinner)

(Tues, 9/26) - 3 soft things you're grateful for
1. Stuffed animals
2. The soft sounds of fall and winter
3. Blankets

(Wed, 9/27) - 3 travel-related things you're grateful for
1. GPS!! (You don't even want to know how lost I'd get without it! Ha!)
2. Family trips
3. Just getting away from it all

(Thurs, 9/28) - 3 neighbors you are (or have been) grateful for
1. Our across the street neighbors for many years
2. Our next door neighbor and their dog who actually barked himself into seizures (That probably sounds terrible...I didn't like the seizures part... but you don't understand. Little fluff ball of a dog, but had the "don't cross me" attitude. Sledding involved carefully avoiding him as well as the large tree in their yard. Fun times! Ha!)
3. Our neighbors down the street
It's been changing over the past few years, but for awhile there, we had *attempts to count* 7 families who had been in the neighborhood for over 35 years. Pretty amazing, really. Four of us are still there at 40 years.

(Fri, 9/29) - 3 things you're grateful for about coffee, tea...or whatever your favorite drink is
Okay. making me look a bit weird again here, but...

Sunday-3 things you are grateful for about October

2. leaves changing color
3. Holiday season beginning

Good Sunday Morning!

#1 - I’m grateful that I’m able to see another birthday month - every day and every year is a blessing - it’s good to be alive.

#2 - I’m grateful for all the feels that October brings - the days you start off with a sweater and end with short sleeves, the smells of bonfires, seeing trees change colors and mums everywhere - October is such a great month.

#3 - I’m grateful for shorter days - many will highly disagree with me about this, but I sleep better when it gets dark out around 6/6:30pm. I think it’s because when it’s light out until 8:30pm, I feel the need to be outside doing stuff and not relaxing in the house - I’m not going to be doing a puzzle when I can be outside pulling weeds or any other chore. But when it’s dark out, I can work on that puzzle, which I find very relaxing.

Slo
At first I was going to suggest you see a doctor about your misconstrued idea about it being better when it’s dark early I was really worried about you I thought oh my god she’s lost her mind but I will admit your logic makes sense looking at it that way I could see why you would say what you do I would suggest going forward did you get black out curtains have your spouse Kevin close the curtains about 630 and then you can pretend it’s dark outside for the rest of us I would like it to still stay light because I find it so depressing than 7 o’clock it’s dark outside 🤣🤣🤣
Just as an FYI I’ve been shopping for some curtains I have a couple rooms I need to get curtains in so if you need me to send you a link I’ll be more than happy to👍
I’m here for you

October - technically it’s supposed to get cooler but right now it’s in the 90s
I like this time of year the fall if we had truly fall weather so you can make things like stews and and chili and pot roast you know those nice Sunday dinners that you don’t want to make during the summer because it’s just too darn hot
I love the look of the leaves when they change colors the trees are just beautiful sadly it doesn’t last very long just takes one good thunderstorm and all the leaves are gone but it’s so beautiful all the reds and gold beautiful gift from God
I do like it when it finally does cool off a bit we are quite a bit humid here so I do like the break from that - you can actually sit outside and enjoy the evening if you can deal with the bugs the only good thing about it getting colder is it kills off the bugs
I do find it very depressing once all the leaves well and gets so dark so early I and then I got to start worrying about dealing with that stupid snow when ice which could easily start happening in November or it could be 90° you never know around here
The best part of fall is it sweater weather once it goes off - I am a sweater freak I love wearing sweaters and sweatshirts!
If we’re lucky we might have a very short break and we can shut off her air conditioners before we have to turn our furnace on it may be a day if we’re really lucky we might get a week or so but usually it’s heat at night air during the day welcome to the Midwest !!! I believe there’s another thread on that🤣🤣
A very happy Fall y’all - don’t blink because before you know it they’ll be playing Christmas music and will be in the holiday season!

R Things:

1. I will second/third raspberries. I eat them a lot, mostly red as they are almost always available, but sometimes black—they are my favorites.
2. Also reading—a good book (along with time to read it) is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
3. Roses—I am fairly good with plants, but do not do well with roses. I love them anyways.

October:
1. My favorite month of the year—love the weather, fall colors, the anticipation of the holidays coming, but the calm before the craziness hits. I wish October was a whole season.
2. My middle daughter has her birthday this month. She will be leaving teenagerhood.
3. Fresh air—one of the few months that we can have the windows open. I love the fresh air in the house.

Happy October dear friends:grouphug:

Hallmark Christmas Movies will start.

Memories of Trunk or Treat. I am not a traditional Halloween fan. I do not celebrate Halloween. God willing one day I would love to be part of again at a church a faith filled Fall festival that would include Trunk or Treat.

Birthdays of special friends!
