Hi Killers, well it time to catch up and come back.
I will start with a update of my past month and go back and read the page after page. Thanks to those who post lots of smilies, at least that is less I need to read, though then I get lost looking at them.
For starters. As I signed on I see that Pleasure Island closed????:confused3 thinking back I think I heard rumors but what are they doing with it??

Okay when I last left many of us were in a dreaded heat wave, Bobsmom it was cooler when you were in the world then where most of us were, 90 degrees sounded like a dream. I see we all did survive, maybe we can all audition for the next surviver, I'm sorry 110 w/heat index the first week of June:eek:. That Sunday during the heatwave we had DS's school closing big hurray from 2-6 that day, needless to say it was hot, but they did a great job and the kids had a blast. The adults did too I am surprised how well we all did considering the heat, but it was to important of a event to miss.
They had a banner made up for all the kids to sign with the school name and under "Always in our hearts" they are putting it in a time capsule.
When we came home I was sooooo ready for A/c, my GF stop by which was a nice surprise to see her it's been a while and then I think the heat got to me b/c I was overtired and thats when I tried to post and all my multi's went bye bye:confused3 by then I was to tired to start again.

The following was getting ready for the end, it was very emotional for many of the parents. Normally by the last week we are so ready but this year we didn't mind even when some of the schools got out a few days before us.
The last day of DS's school was sad and hard, went in b/f mass to have the class Sister her gift. We felt after mass it would be to hard for her. We then went to church, it actually wasn't a mass it was a service this year. The kids took part and it was very nice, the singers who are parents in the school had it end with a very upbeat song. The one you see late at night for Christian Music CD's My God is a assume God. Glad they did it that way since there were to many tears earlier. I was surprised, never have heard it sung in a Catholic Church and he said all right lets sing it, I guess they done that at school masses since all the kids new it.
Back at school was waiting for the end, Smart move on the principal's part he had a Ice Cream truck pull into the recess yard and serve all the kids icecream. Normally (they get out a 10:30), it would end with announcements over the PA and prayer and then Have a Great Summer, See you in Sept. So it worked out great to announce that they could go downstairs for icecream, after all there is no September there.
I think I mentioned b/f going MIA that I was having the class picnic at my house after school that day. We did and it was great. It helped break up the sadness of saying goodbye there and walking away from the school.
The kids had lots of fun. Bought wooden picture frames from Micheal's and paint in the school colors had them paint/decorate them as a craft had the small foam letters for them to put saying on. One of the parents brought his digital and his printer, so he took class pictures and then printed them out so the kids all left with there frames and class picnic picture. Sister came after the teachers luncheon, I think it helped her to be around the kids and not go back to the convent and look at the empty school.
DS's class was a pretty tight class, the parents discussed things to keep them together socially and hopefully that will happen.
Basically after that it has been getting into 'summer' mode and trying to adjust. DD was still finishing up her exams and I get into this I will do it all now so I can enjoy my summer. :rotfl2: Yeah that works everyear;) but at least I try.
Can't believe the 4th is next week already, seems like school just ended and the summer is rolling. Will help with the float for the 4th in our town parade, then before I know will be leaving for yearly beach vacation. Well thats my little paradise, like the world someplace I just don't have to deal with anything going on in the 'real world' well for a week that is:rotfl2:.

Well I guess thats it. I know there is so much to catch up on, from floods to bad tips to new members to killers coming back from there vacations. So I will review so I can know what I missed.
Missed you guys!!!!!

WOW! You guys were chatty the last few days! I have nearly 12 pages to catch up on! Which I'm going to do now, just wanted to post because I've missed my Tkers.

Before I go, I don't know very much about racing, but I have a new fave based on an article I read the other day. One of the drivers called Kyle Busch is participating in a program called "Miles for Kyle", in which people sponsor him based on the number of miles he manages to race. Proceeds go to the Pedigree adoption progran, which I'm a huge fan of. I dont know anything else about him, but if he cares enough to try to find home for homeless pets and animal shelters, he's my kinda guy! :thumbsup2

Ok, now to go back....

Went back and saw that Kyle Busch is a fave of racetrack's, right?

OK, I just went thru the thread and took notes....

D&D...Happy belated Anniversary! Sorry you had the scare and had to go to the ER. Hope you're feeling better today and go get yourself checked out just in case.

Pikester...your idea of a NASCAR weekend @ WDW is fantastic! Reading you guys, it seems that there is a huge, wildly devoted fan base. I can't even imagine how crazy that weekend would be. But so much fun! And belated Happy Birthday to you too! Mmm....cake and ice cream.

whgrn... that stinks about your schedule changes, Good thing that you did call! Glad you were able to get your airline tix., Are you getting excited about it now? OOH...the Mothman museum in Pt. Pleasant! I would kinda like to go there. The Mothman Prophecies scared that hoohas out of me. I had my roomate sit in the shower with me for days after that, and I kept the bathroom door open all the time. And it was his idea to watch it, so its all his fault! Really scared me coz it was based on true events, Have fun on your trip to the shore!

Bopsmom...how are you and DD feeling? It sounds like the sore throat yucky I had a few weeks ago. I love the idea of a treadmill desk. I would, however, have to dig out the treadmill OUT in order to use it for a desk.

Disney.Dreamer....welcome to our humble digs! Looking forward to getting to know you....

Kim...so sorry that you spend your day off fighting with DH. Hope you're getting along better now and that you managed to rest a bit on your day away.

Racetrack....I always go on vacation without kids (I don't have any!). But we're boring, we too just like to sit around and people watch, and really talk. We like to find a nice spot amidst all the craziness of Disney and just enjoy being together. We take funny pictures of us together, I make BF try foods from the kiosks that he'd never want to. Its just about spending time together and reconnecting--which in our case usually means doing what I want to do!

disney54us....I was saddened too to read your post about the last day of school. It seems that everyone really went out of their way to make it special for the kids. The ice cream truck was a really sweet idea.

MMMM...french fries! I prefer honey mustard or BBQ sauce for my fries, unless they're from Wendy's, in which I too dip in a Frosty.

Hi M&N! I missed posting to you, but I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Hi Shmu! How's everything going?

Hi lighttech! How's the heat treating you? Did you get the rooms finished?

Did I miss anyone? I'm sorry if I did.

So yesterday was graduation for my neice and nephew. I went early to reserve seats for my parents and I, and made sure they were on the other side of the gym from my brother's family and the Evil Ones. I sat and texted with my SIL, who looked terrible and was in a foul mood. My brother ambushed me with my older sister (ironically named Joy) and we were pleasant to each other, but hardly friendly. I didn't even see my brother's mother, the Big Evil. That helped a lot.

Graduation was nice enough, if a little long. My parents and I were quick to get out of there, to avoid the awkwardness between everyone. I had told my SIL this was out plan, and she was cranky that the Evils were messing up the day for the kids.

Going to the bank, my nephew called and asked if I had left yet. I told him I had, but I could come back if he needed me. He said he had to talk to his mom. So then my SIL calls me, freaking out that my brother is pissed off coz my nephew wants to go out to lunch with me and our parents, not with his own parents and their guests. Oh goodness.

I call my nephew and tell him that he graduates from HS just once and he should make nice and go out with his parents and siblings. We'll celebrate with our own family BBQ on the 11th. He was not happy but agreed. He did ask if he could come back here and stay for a few days. I said he could, as long as his parents were ok with it. My SIL said it would be fine, esp with parties going on all weekend.

Nephew came over last night after 2am. We have our tickets for Chicago and the Doobie Brothers tonight! I'm super excited!

So that was the atrocious graduation experience. I'm so glad its over.

My gay posse friends from DC (the ones I went to the ComiCon with) are coming up for July 4th weekend. I'm busy trying to clean and prep for them. We have many plans! I'm just tired thinking about it!

TTYL!

Afternoon!!! Cloudy and dreary here today. Looks like more rain.

Magikitty-Sounds like everything turned out ok with the graduation. I'm glad the evils didn't cause any real trouble. Hope the concert is great tonight.

Yeah, I'm the one who likes Kyle Busch. He's the bad boy on the track and most people don't like him. But off track, he's totally different. Actually, alot of the drivrers do charity work. Off the top of my head, there are 2 other drivers who help raise money for homeless pets. Tony Stewart and his sponsor, the Home Depot, build playgrounds in cities that can't afford to build new safe ones. And yes, he does actually go out and help. It's just not his name attatched to the project. Kyle Petty runs a camp for children with life threatening diseases. So many of them are about giving back instead of just take, take, take. I guess that's part of why I like it so much.

The Evils!:rotfl: That still cracks me up!

It was drizzally (sp?) and cloudy here this morning. Then the sun came out. Then a big thunderstorm built up and dropped buckets of rain on us. Made the bark mulch in my garden run all over the place. Then the sun came out again. Now it's cloudy and we may be getting more rain. According to the weather radar I just looked at; a big cell looks to be heading towards Loundon, NH where the NASCAR race is being held. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if it actually hits there or not.

I figured you would be proud ha ha. :rotfl:

Can't really type a lot today. DH spilled soda all over the keyboard last night and I am too lazy to go to Best Buy right now. :rotfl:

I'm always glad when it's my DH that does that kind of stuff! Better him then me or one of the kids.

Here's a funny one for you!

Not to much. Finally got DH to go to bed! He still doesn't get it that the longer he stays up the longer I do too. All I want is an hour or two to be by myself.

After I posted about rain heading towards the Nascar race my DH told me that it had been called because of rain. No way were they going to keep a dry track with what was coming. It finally stopped raining here where I am. It is still so humid! I hate being all sticky and yucky. The weather man is showing dryer weather after Tuesday. Good! Maybe it will stay that way through the 4th. Last year was a total rain out. Thank goodness my inlaws have a garage. We had our gathering in there.

What have you been up to?

I have the same DH problem as you. Being with the 4 kids all day and then he comes home and acts just like another kid, all I want is time by myself. It really is the only time I am "alone". Glad I am not the only one who feels like this.

Nothing exciting today. Watched the race and was disappointed with who won. Highly disappointed. Kurt Busch is the Busch brother that I hate. :lmao:

Oh geez, they messed with the smilies again. I just had gotten use to where they all were and now they moved them around again. :sad2:

I was trying to use those Glassy smilies earlier today and they wouldn't let me copy. Let me see if I can now. Nope! Still won't let me do it.

My DH was watching a review show about today's race and they showed your guy getting hit on purpose! That was not nice. :sad2:

I saw that too. I don't like the guy that hit him either. The other driver has a hot temper. Hopefully, Kyle Busch will be smart enough not to try to get revenge.

Mine worked. :confused3 Mmmm, maybe it's to make up for all the trouble I was having yesterday.

I've had a really bad day.
Just clicking on to escape a little.
Too upset to write about it right now.
No emergency or anything like that.
I'm just :furious: :furious: :furious:
Let me settle down a little and then I'll share the details.
Going back to read some funny posts from you guys.
Need to settle down a bit.

 Shmu, sorry you had a lousy day. Hope things are better tomorrow!

I had a great visit from family this afternoon--my favorite uncle who lives in FL was up with his GF (1st time I met her--I LOVE her!). Then DSis, and her girls, DBro, DMom and DDad. The kids played and went in the pooly, the old folks just sat and yakked. My uncles GF was telling us stories about him and we were just howling--it was so funny! Ordered in dinner, great food (Cheesecake Factory--didja know they have GREAT healthy salads?!?!) Just a really nice afternoon/evening. Tomorrow I'll be with my sister, and later my parents too, so it will be another pleasant day. Then I have to get my act in gear and start packing! PLUS, pack up DD's room, since when she's at camp, it's getting redone. PLUs, pack for camp! Gonna be a BUSY week!

I can't believe Tuesday is July. Where on earth did June go?

Sounds like you got a regular ol' family reunion going on. Can't do that with my family...they are just too nutty. :lmao: Glad you are having a great time.

Don't mention the time thing. It seems like my kids just got out of school but it's almost a month already. I just feel like the whole year is going too fast.

Sounds like you had a great time today. I used to love sitting around the table at my Nana's house with the Aunts. The stories they told!

You are so right about June flying by! I hope July goes by a little slower.

Shmu, we're here. :grouphug:

 Shmu, sorry you had a lousy day. Hope things are better tomorrow!

Thanks.:grouphug:

Details in short form.

You all know how sick my DD was before she went on Mission Trip.

She was VIOLENTLY ill. Had me so scared.

She got back last night and had the best attitude.

Met some girls her age and encouraged them. That's all good.

Well..........she also shared with us that the Children's Pastor (who we love dearly but is a very high strung individual) was mad at DD for not eating at McDonalds the first day.

I had called him ahead of time, so he knew that DD had been very ill. Said I could send DD her own food.

DD did not feel like eating at McDonald's.....Duh....

She explained it to him and he grudgingly said OK and let her eat her fruit that she had brought.

Next day DD's stomach was still tender and not wanting regular food. She ate some Peanut Butter crackers that I had sent with her.

Only wanted fruit mostly from the meals being served.

She told us that Tuesday morning she came down to eat and he was meeting with all the adults on the trip.

Then he stopped talking when she came downstairs and told her he wanted to chat with her.

He accused her of having an eating disorder.

Now please understand, I am not making light of an eating disorder. I know how serious that is. But we are 150% positive she does not have one.

She was still recovering from food poison.

DD tried to explain that is the reason that she is not eating but he would not listen to her.

Now remember...I had called him before the trip and told him that she had been very ill with food poison and she would not be able to eat normally. That is why I packed special food for her.

He told DD that he was going to call us and explain to us that she had an eating disorder. DD told him...."please call them" She knew we would know what was going on.

He never called us.

For the rest of the trip he made such a big deal about her eating. All the adults were hoarding over her. Forcing her to eat foods that she normally does not eat. (She sticks with vegetables, fruits, chicken, potatoes, salads) She is a very healthy eater.

He even got mad at her for wanting water in a restaurant instead of a Dr. Pepper.

As if that wasn't enough for me to be upset over. DD explains that he talked about this "eating disorder" that she has so much on the trip and in front of everybody else that her friends started to believe that she might have one.

DD is so worried now that she is going to become the victim of gossip. She is labeled now as the girl with the eating disorder and she was just trying to re-cooperate from food poison.

Needless to say, DH and I are very upset about this. DH is going to contact both the Children's Pastor and the Senior Pastor to make sure they put an end to this immediately.

I hope I am making sense. I am still trying to calm down.
My mother lion claws are coming out to protect my baby cub.

I don't blame you for having your "claws" out. I would have been very upset too! I think what would have bothered me the most, and let me see if I can type this out the way I have it in my head, is this person is associated with a group that is christian and should know better then to put a label on your DD that could potentially have a bad affect on her. I know this person is a human being and is not perfect but you expect a little more from them. Does that make any sense. I think you and DH are doing the right thing by contacting them right away.
