Pikester....how was it? Are you into sci-fi at all? I'm a total sci-fi geek, but I missed the Andromeda Strain. I love Michael Crichton, and that was one of his first novels. I wonder if they'll replay it sometime this weekend....

BF doesn't believe I'll actually go to the concert by myself. Oh, what did I do to have him so grossly underestimate me? And with our leaving for WDW the week after, let me tell you a MagiKitten is completely possible! I'll be running on David Cook memories...I am a woman of a certain age, I do want to have a litter sometime.

ah, Pepper, he does look like he smells good. I hope to sniff him in person.

I've been ordered NOT to catch the bouquet at the wedding later this month. But since I'm one of the last singles standing, it'll be kinda hard not to!

Girlfriends meeting up on Monday in NYC! The bride is our "Carrie" and the two others are the Miranda and Charlotte. But that leaves me to be Samantha! We're definitely going out for drinks, I don't know if we'll be able to see SATC, but we'd like to! I wonder if there's a midnight showing..I am a huge huge fan of the show, I thought the series finale was brilliant!

Andromeda Strain is a remake of an earlier movie. I have seen the original. I don't usually watch remakes as they aren't as good. If they have emphasized government cover up then I definitely won't watch it. We don't like movies that make the government the enemy. ::cop:
We may watch Indiana Jones this weekend. We watched Narnia last weekend and I feel guilty spending $ on movies. Our town just got a new theater this year (didn't like the old one) and it's so nice not to take an hour and a half to get to the theater.

I thought it was pretty good. I can't say that I am much of a Sci-Fi fan, althougth I do watch some shows considered that. Have you ever seen the movie Dune? I so loved that movie! Kyle McLaughlin is so hot!

They did emphasize government coverup from start to finish. The government started it, they tried to conceal it, covered it up and still have a big secret at the end. It wasn't the entire government but a few key characters.

Evening everyone. It was an un-eventful day for me. I went to a few places to see if they were hiring for waitresses. I ran into the "need experince thing". I did find one place that may hire but the waitresses there work 4-5 days a week, 4-5 hours a day. I can't live on 16-25 hours a week. I need a 40 hour week to make some $$$. Iam about ready to scream.

I feel like I am running smack into a brick wall everytime I go somewhere to see about a job. All I want to do is get a job and pay my bills.

Hey Killers, I think I will try to bring you all up to date and then go back and try to join in.


Last I left w/DD's Junior Prom and all went well, on Sunday she awoke very sick and had me call the Dr. So I new she was bad. By 3:00pm after she pass out on me and was white as a sheet we were on or way via Ambulance to the ER, with a BP 90/55 and EMT's not feeling comfortable in taking me to my hospital of choice since her BP was so low. Anyway got through that and aside from being sick and having a UTI no real explaination. So as I got one child well DS b/c sick as in I think I'm going to throw up sick He never gets those type of virus's but yes, he did this time so there went the next few days caring for the weak and throw up kid.

In between sick kids and back and forth to Doctors, We had our first event for our 'kick off' to announce our candidates who would be running for election this Nov. in town. In addition meetings etc. I then became sick, well with bad sinus's I never just get a cold. I try and try and then give in and call my Doctor after suffering for about a week. We had my DFil's 80th surprise dinner and everyone was coming back to my house for his favorite 'old time' cake. So needed to get house in order and then a week later May 24th my niece was getting married and I was hosting the bride and bridal party.

Party for DFil went well and he was surprised, everyone seem to have a good time after when they all came back. My two DN's and I cont. the party spent the night talking and drinking wine. It was nice to spend time with both of them., laugh and talk about sad times. My Mil death was upcoming on 8 years and on the weekend of DN's wedding.

So went through the rest of the week trying to keep/or get kids well and have the house 'wedding ready' for Saturday. DD's asthma went for a loop during the week so in between trying to garden and get the house bride ready more trips to the Doc's.

Well we got to the big day and in between me having full blown sinus infection and DD and her Asthma being out of wack I built the 8' curved terrlace and decorated it, of course getting it out in one piece was . As the saying goes, you build it they will come, well if you make DH get it out in one piece.

The girls all came and used my dinning room for the hair and make up salon. Then ran around upstairs and go into their gowns. Mom and dad came. All went well and they all looked beautiful. The wedding was great!!! The ceremony was very personal, and the reception ROCkED!!! They gave their daughter a great wedding and all enjoyed!!

DD was still having problems with Asthma and that cont. through Memorial Day weekend. I so wanted to chill on Sun. after the wedding, but we went back to the hotel to meet for a brunch. DS had a B-day party at the local pool club, his classmate has it every year there but I was ready to crawl into a ball. Pool party was good and finally went home and tryed to relax. Mon. I really wanted to do nothing but I went to Wegman's and told DM to come down and I would B-Q. It's that Catholic guilt, really I'm telling you since I soooo wanted not to have anyone or do a thing. DM has a thing about any official holiday and that means we have to do something.

I thought I could get everyone caught up to date but I'm tired and the week that has just past made me more tired, so I will cont. tomorrow at least I have come close to getting you caught up and I can play catch up.

disney54us, you made me tired just reading that. How did you ever survive? You weren't the only one sick with a sinus infection. I just finished up my meds for one (along with a ruptured eardrum). Just rest for a little and catch up when you can.

hi everyone! i'm realllly trying to catch up and now am on page 23 (boy were you guys busy!). so i started multiquoting and i'm sure this will all be soooo yesterday's topics but here i go anyway - sorry!

I got an email from a friend that was about aluminum foil. It talked about how hard it was to use because the roll would fall out of the box. Look at the end of the box. It says “Press here to lock end”. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? Did you all know about it? I didn't but now my little tabs are pushed in. (I feel a little like Martha Stewart now!)

i got the same email, and let me tell you, i was SURPRISED by that news! oh boy, is my life so lame that i was excited by the little tabs in a tinfoil box? yes. i think it was just that i would NEVER have known about that!

Ok, so I'm an idiot. All worried about money and what do I go do? I make another ADR for Raglan Road. It wasn't all my fault. Someone generously posted about a $25 off $50 coupon to eat there, and since I wanted to anyway, I figured this is a good excuse! Meant to be!

I haven't told BF yet, I may have to wait until after he gets over the David Cook thing....

Anyone eat there yet? I've read really good things but was wondering what my TKers thought!

LOVED raglan road! we had some yummy food and drink there - hmmm, i'm pretty sure i've mentioned the cider, right? mmm mmm mmm. but be careful!

also you have to stick around for the music and dancing - it's really amazing.

and sooooo with you on the david cook thing! i have to admit though that i could NOT stand his hair in the beginning, and i was thrilled when he started making it more normal. i know that sounds dumb, but every week, i'd say to my DH "ok, it's a little better now."



ok, i wanted to quote on the vet thread, but now dennis is starting to yell! "moommmmy moommy mommmmmyyyyy!" good thing i took the monitor out of our bedroom where dh is still sleeping!

Hi everyone! Well my plans of getting outside and doing my planning and scheduling just went out the window. It is DARK outside. Like the heavens will open up and will never relent. I hope it doesn't though.

Yeah! I opened up the thread and full updates from both Disney54 and Magsnden! So good to see you both and find out what's going on in what seems to be very hectic lives! I hope everyone is better now and that the summer will welcome lots of good times.

Kim, just keep looking and something will come around. I'm sorry this is such a trying time for your and your family. As always, big hugs and prayers out to all of you.

I have new perspective on my husband David Cook dating. I figure, since the show started, he really hasn't had the time to go out and be social. He misses female companionship. I can handle that. I just hope he behaves before our "date" in September!

I hope everyone else's Saturday isn't a washout like mine is! And once again, my laundry is held captive out on the laundry line!

MagiKitty-Right there with you on the weather. It's raining right now, and the first storm of the day just ended. And on top of it, there is a tornado watch for most of today. Kinda throws all my plans out for today too. Not that they were much but I did want the kiddies to go outside and play so I could get things done around the house. Good Morning all!

It is very gloomy here in NH today. We had a little sun around 7:30am but then a shower came through and the clouds have stayed around. As I much as I wished it were sunny out we need the rain rather desperately. There is a forest fire burning in Rumney, NH that is getting really close to homes. I pray that they will get enough rain to help put the darn thing out.

I will be taking my DS10 to see Indian Jones at 1:30p; I will let you know how it goes. I can't believe a matinee is $5.75 now! It sure is better then paying the full price though.

I suppose I better go do a few more chores before I have to leave.

Okay killers and the saga continues......
Oh I left out that the week after Dfil's party that Monday I had to take DD and friend to a concert yes 5 imo bands and me very tired it wasn't a drop off I got to stay. Actually it was good, but once again timing is everything and I don't have it, Seems like this was just a action pack month, really my life is not usually that interesting. Also had a field trip with DS the next morning after the concert. And while we were there we were evacuated after watching a movie about the Sun. It was a fire drill, but we didn't know that at the time.
Oh and I forgot that we got a nice little notice from the IRS, seems my tax preparer forgot to add in one of DH's w2's on our 06 taxes and we owe them money . Now why couldn't they have figured that out before we spent our 07 return. What gets to me, it is his mistake and all he is responsible for is interest and penalties I think he should refund what I payed him to do my taxes.
Okay so this past week after Memorial Day Weekend has been spent trying to keep DD out of the hospital. Her asthma as I said previously has been out of wack and we were back at the Doc's Tuesday. They put her on a stronger med for her nebulizer which she had never had. Doc said its the last resort b/f admitting her. Tuesday night she was bad called to see if we need to go another round of predisone. They try not to put her on that cont. but I really felt we needed to go heavy duty and kick this out. I also though maybe a stronger antibiotic. When I called that evening it was another Doc. can't stand her She doesn't know DD has only seen her a few times and I always end up back in the office the next day or so with her regular Doc and have a different diagn. Her great line is well then you should take her to the ER Yeah I love a Doc who is to scared to practice medicine and just does the CYA game. Anyway I dealt with this for to many years so I decided to give her 40mg of predisone which would be protocol and what other doc's have told me in the past and what they would do at the ER after waiting for hours.
Brought her back in the following morning and it was decided to go another round of Predisone. I asked her regular Doc about taken her full speed ahead and putting her on the Z pak. She did not feel we needed to switch antibiotic's at this time. Took her back in Thrus. morning so they could check her and now the Doc. here's crackling in her chest!!! So she sends her for a x ray and tells me she should have listened to me and put her on the Z pak.
Thrus. I called her school b/c it doesn't look like she is going to be back b/f the end of the year and if she is it will be at the tail end.
Even if she gets better she will be back a zero since her school has no A/C no fans and if you can't breath it is even harder when your in a sufficating building. Also the windows are open which means all that great stuff like pollen that she can't tolerate is all over the place.
We went through this last year and like I said to the Doc. what do I do??? About the third week of April ship her off to a beach until mid June.
Last year she finally had to leave school and we never got most of the work till the end of the summer.
I told them I wanted the work and the study guides for her final's and reminded her Guidance Cons. that I will not have a repeat of last year.

Yesterday we did not go to the Doc's woohoo, they were not open since they are moving there office, that did have me a little worried that they would not be around from Thrus. afternoon through Mon. She seemed a little better on Friday so for health reasons we went to the beach.
No grass,, pollen and heat does wonder's sand and salt air seem so healing .

So now you all know why it's been a while since I posted. I would check the thread from time to time so I realize we have some newcomers a big Welcome to you!!! Now I need to go back and catch up.

My sky has opened!!!! and we have a tornado watch. Guess this is a good day to play catch up.

Whew! I'm exhausted after your post (and the next one.) Hope the salt air did wonders. I also believe firmly in the healing power of a little fresh (pollen-less) air and sunshine. I hope things start to look up, but congrats on getting thru so well.
As far as catching up... do what you can, and we'll fill you in as we go along. I'm not as far behind as you, but I basically skimmed the pages I missed, and started commenting from where I was... there was just too much to say!

Yea. We've got that watch too. Pretty dismal in PA today. I don't usually mind a good thunderstorm, but we had some trees come down on the house a few years ago (luckily, no one was hurt, and the damage was as good as could be expected... new roof needed, but nothing in the house was too bad... a little minor water damage and a few cracks.) So, as much as I enjoy summer thunderstorms, whenever there are winds (or tornado watches) I tend to get antsy now. Be safe!
