I got in about two dozen votes last night. Gotta love that redial button! :thumbsup2 I just love David Cook's voice and style. And when he teared up last night, I did too!

I don't watch the dancing ones. I'm waiting for Nashville Star this summer. I'm not a huge country music fan, but the people are just so talented I get into it! I also love the Amazing Race, but there's been no indication that its coming back anytime soon.

I STILL haven't watched any of the HSM!

Good afternoon!

I just finished doing a bunch of chores and thought I would give myself a break by stopping in here to say hello! :wave2:

I've been doing this and this and two loads of this :laundy: . I went to the gardening center and bought some flowers so I can do this this weekend.

I watched AI last night too and I have to say that I thought David Cook didn't do so well, although, over all I would say he has done the best. I think they are both great but I think David Cook has the staying power. David A. has been weak on many of is preformances but then what do I know. Many a time I thought someone did horrible and the judges just about peed their pants over them!

Hope to stop in again later!

Good afternoon everyone. I hope everybodys day is going great so far. Mine would be better if I could breathe through my nose (I am trying to get over this sinus infection). I am about to run for the nose spray.

I don't know if anyone else had to deal with those bad storms in the eastern US yesterday, but holy cow were they bad. They seemed to move out pretty quick. Luckily we had no damage to our home.

I thought I was the only one. I don't watch the talent shows either.

*Dizney*Princess* too much excitement  glad only the pot was hurt.

Bopsmom Happy Birthday to your DH!

Hi all. Whats everyone making for dinner? I need some new ideas, because I am tired of eating the same thing. I made Chicken Ole tonight. It is very good and maybe someday I should post the recipe on the recipe board. It is super simple.

Kim

Hi again, Kim. I've given up on cooking dinner. I've been lurking on the restaurant board, reading food porn and it has just gotten me depressed. I too cook the same things over and over again. I'm uninspired. I wish I was one of those people who enjoy cooking, but I'm not. To make it worse, I love to BAKE. And to make it worse-worse, I'm a fantastic baker. Cruel world. Cupcakes call to me in the night.

Let's hope Melanie comes to visit and tells us what she cooks tonight. We never did get an update on what she ate after the cooking excitement last night.

Its looking like tomato soup for me right now. Its cold and rainy and it would hit the spot.

PS---Please post chicken ole recipe here! I would love to try something new.

Uggg!!!!! No ideas for dinner here. Same stuff in rotation and I too am bored w/ it. Please post chicken ole and anything else yummy.

Anyone have big plans for the weekend? None here. Just doing what Pikester is doing
chores023.gif
Bought my flowers and will be planting away. We are having a very tendy Stay-cation where we just stay home all weekend and enjoy everything our yard has to offer. Gotta spend some time on that new patio. :thumbsup2

Planning to BBQ each night and eat on the new patio set.
Planting flowers
Play some Ladder Golf w/ the kids
Crash a few bring-you-own drinks neighborhood bonfires

Now this is only if the weather cooperates. Temps have been cold - 50s and low 60s but expected to hit a whopping 70ish this weekend. :woohoo: We'll see.

I just don't want to cook anymore. I need to find some crockpot recipes or something that are easy and take about 5 minutes to throw together. I have 2 slow cookers and 1 crockpot and I bet they have an inch of dust on them. Maybe I should cook the dust up and eat it. LOL.:lmao:

Kim

Don't you love it? FOOD PORN. People post entire reports on what they ate on vacation, complete with yummy pictures! Stimulating pictures of yummy meals. Food porn. I'm salivating at the moment. That's why I'm so depressed. There's so much good food out there, if I only were inspired and ambitious, I too could enjoy lovely meals.

Food porn is my new word. That and....

INFANTICIPATION! Isn't that great? I read it in one of my Filipino magazines. Instead of the traditional "I'm pregnant!" stories, they announce "we're infanticipating!"

I realized today that I should be so thankful for free dining, that wherever I eat I sould be grateful. No more changing ADRs for me!

My dad is huge crock pot fan. Mostly stews. I have yet to figure it out.

This is funny, a gf of mine is getting married and asked if I would help cook rice for the reception. I told her that I use a rice cooker, so really, all cooking that I would do would just be pressing a button! :rotfl2:

I use my crockpots for everything from spaghetti to casseroles. I have a good recipe for No Peek Casserole - a big time comfort food.

1.5 lb Beef Stew meat
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/4C red wine
1 can mushroom pieces
Mix and cook on low for 8 hrs. Serve over wide style noodles

My vocabulary has been enhanced today. :lmao: Thanks Magikitty!!!!

Here is the recipe for Chicken Ole. It takes about 10 minutes to prepare and 45 to bake.

4-5 uncooked chicken breasts, boned and chunked
1 (16oz) can picante sauce (salsa works well)
2 cans french green beans, don't drain
1 c. uncooked rice
shredded jack cheese (or whatever you have)

Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients, except cheese. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and return to the oven for 5 minutes.

Makes a 9x13 panfull.

Hope everyone likes it. My whole family including my kids love it.

I also have a great recipe for a baked spaghetti (not how you think it would be but so yummy). I will post it as well soon.

Kim

Ooh yeah! New recipes!

D&D...can I use something other than red wine in the recipe? Can I use something like stock?

I guess this means I have to venture to the grocery store. Prices have just gotten me depressed. Cherries on sale for 5.99/lb! Gosh, I am so tempted, I love cherries. Milk and eggs so expensive. Even with my coupons, its gotten really tough to go through the check out without pain. I'll plan carefully tonight during the AI finals...

Oh, did you see on the news tonight that American Airlines is going to charge $15 for the FIRST bag you check in? Crazy!

I have used cranberry juice in the past when I didn't have red wine. I think it just needs to be something sour-ish to give it a little tang. Or just leave out all together.

I have a recipe fun for the kiddies.

DD loves Chicken Nuggets and while I will make them for her sometimes, I think that they are "empty" when it come to making a dinner-sorry personal opnion.

I have made this for her and her friends:

Cook Nuggets
When done spoon on spaghetti sauce (warmed)
Sprinkle with cheese
Cook until cheese melts

This makes little chicken parmesan(s)

Serve with a salad and a side of pasta.

Yummmmm:lovestruc

You also have portion control this since you know how many nuggets make a serving and there is no waste using whole breaded chicken breasts-(DD never eats a whole serving of anything!)

 packing my box for Disney:banana:

Has anyone given any thought to what you are going to do for the holiday weekend? We will be just hanging around the house.

Kim

Hey everyone. Just stopping by to say hi!! Life at work is crazy busy these days. Now not only am I swamped with stuff, I am still finding Beaker mistakes that I have to fix!!! Did I mention he almost ruined our entire accounting system?

Remember how excited I was after his interview??? He really did interview well...it had nothing to do with the baking. :rolleyes1 That is NOT the first thing I told you guys about him...nope not me. :rolleyes1

Okay, I am the first to admit when I made a mistake. :rotfl:

Happy Birthday.

Today is DH's 50th too.

Happy Birthday!!! Do you guys have something special planned?

Good Evening Friends,

I hope all is well with you. I was just about to come in here and complain about the fact that some of my smilies are missing but I happened to notice that some are missing in others posts too. I wonder why? I know they are the ones that I got from another site.

Right now it is 9:07pm and Hell's Kitchen is on. I love Chef Ramsey! He is one BadButt guy! Actually, I think he has a nice butt!

For those of you who remember my DS7 dental issues; he had an appt this past Friday with a pedatric dentist. All went very well. The dentist that we originally went to thought he had 8 or 9 areas on his teeth that were problems. The Pediatric dentist says that he only has 3. Two are in his baby teeth so he will have silver fillings since those will fall out and one is in his 6 yr molar :sad2: so they are going to do a white filling. The PD said that this is no ones fault; it's just the way his teeth came in so close together that the bacteria gets trapped. He will have to have his teeth worked on at 3 seperate appts. His first is next Thursday.

I just previewed this post and now my smilies are back! I think it's magic!

I love love LOVE Hell's Kitchen!!! I have not watched it yet this week. I have it on TIVO, but DH is taking a nap (he needs to get good and rested to go to sleep later I guess. ) We will watch it when he wakes up though. Last weeks show rocked!

Another secret (okay not anymore lol) vice of mine was the Bad Girls Club. Not sure where that addiction came from :scared: , but I was sorry to see it end.

Pepper: No more Beaker stories. I'm gonna miss him. You are a great DD--taking care of your DM's toes. You sure know how to bribe--I mean spoil--your DH to go to DW. ;)

That makes one of us that is going to miss Beaker. Ha ha. Hopefully by now he is someone else's problem.

Toes are very important ya know. ;)

Kim: I was born in Suffolk but we moved before I was 3 so I lost my southern accent. Sassy is a cutie.

I don't have any pets. Had a goldfish when younger who did a high dive out of its bowl.

Just thinking of what it was like to be 17. It does not compute! I've been out of HS 40 yrs.

I hope I'm finished...

I didn't know you were a Suffolk girl!!! Well sorta anyway. :upsidedow

----Cook! Cook! Cook! I'm not ashamed to say that I voted like crazy last night too.

Love me some David Cook. I like them both really, but if I was in a record store (or whatever those stores are called these days ha ha) I would probably pick a DC album over a DA album.

I don't know if anyone else had to deal with those bad storms in the eastern US yesterday

Kim

We did. :rotfl:

Kim

Wendy's. ;) Too tired to cook tonight. But last night I made Quesidias (I can't spell it but they were good)

Excuse me....what is this????

Awww dude!!!! Food Porn is the best!!!! It is over on the restaurant boards. There is one thread with nothing but pictures of Disney Food! Then there are the reviews with pics that Magikitty is telling you about. :cloud9:

INFANTICIPATION! Isn't that great? I read it in one of my Filipino magazines. Instead of the traditional "I'm pregnant!" stories, they announce "we're infanticipating!"

THAT is probably one of the funniest comments I have heard all day. :worship: :worship: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :worship:

I needed a good laugh and for some reason that comment had me laughing so hard I could barely get reading it out to DD....who also thought it was hilarious. It is an awesome word though.

Racerchickladydon'tknowyournamestill, where are you??? :3dglasses

Oh, did anyone see the explanation thread? Someone should tell Dreamin' that she should send an email.

Kim

DS wants to take me and DH to a movie called Forgetting Sarah somebody or other (see I already forgot :rotfl: ). He said it is hilarious. I love to laugh out loud so I am looking forward to it. Other than that I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing. I think Legion Baseball tryouts are this weekend. DH coaches the HS age team so I will go help out with that some. DS baseball season is over at school so I am having withdrawals until summer ball starts. :rotfl:

MMMMM that sounds good (except the mushrooms)
