Wait a minute...how did I forget? My honey, David Cook, won AI last night! I know some people gave up on him after Tuesday's performance, but he rose to the occassion and he's the newest American Idol! Yeah!

I really felt my age when I did some research and found out that he's 25...a little too young for me. But if he'll have me, I'm his! (I've already run this by bf). BF is from Kansas City, so it must be something about those Midwestern boys that I like!

Too funny. DH and I agreed a few years ago that if Faith Hill every asked him, I would let him go... as long as I could console Tim in the emotional aftermath...

Ok, so I checked out the "explanation" thread. (Thanks lighttech!) I found it rather hostile and nonsensical. But as they pointed out, it is their thread. We are just hostages to it. I do suppose I could be a stronger person and just walk away, as some people have chosen. But I can't lose my Tkers! (or lose any more than Dreamin).

My goal, as always, is to save others from similar feelings of the being the dreaded Thread Killer. I will battle injustice in my own small ways.

Now, back to enjoying a little David Cook....I think I really may have a problem. Oh, chocolate....

Morning all. I haven't been able to check till today because I've been very sick. Thought I was getting better but ended up at the hospital on Tues night with a ruptured eardrum. I'm on antibiotics now and making a slow recovery. Just wanted to let you all know that I am still around.

whgrn...I'm praying for you and your family these next few days. I'm sorry that you're cooped up at the "Hilton" but if in the end you're somehow able to help your DD it'll be all worth it, scary sleeping arrangements and all.

Thanks everybody! DD is doing OK, just bored silly and constantly telling me she's starving and when is the next meal coming. She's had at least 4 snacks today! No sign of the doctor yet, so I don't know what the EEG is showing. But I haven't seen anything--she seems fine to me. Well, even if they don't find anything, it won't be a total waste--being here now should mean we don't have to come this summer! (she usually has to be here at least once a year). She's just happy she got to miss school! I just hope we get out of here in time to see the chiropractor Saturday--my back and neck are all out of whack now! Oh, and one of my crowns fell out in the middle of the night--I was supposed to see the dentist today, but...

WOW, it must have been pretty bad to take such drastic action. I do wonder if banning anyone who'd even been a lurker there was really necessary, but I suppose they had to draw a line somewhere. It's a shame that the bad apples had to ruin it for so many who really didn't deserve to be banned. Hard to imagine that some people can be so nasty and cruel. I'm glad WE aren't like that!!

David Cook was a good choice for AI. He seems to have a very great attitude and personality.

Speaking of cooking...here's me . It's very fortunate that I have a great mom. I told her I would never have fresh veggies after she dies. I can do corn on the cob in the microwave! I'm having leftover shrimp from Red Lobster tonight. I ordered the extra 6 so I would have extra. The girl really wanted a good tip so she also brought out those yummy biscuits in a bag for me too!

That lasanga sounded great. I am having the other half of my sub from Subway that I had for lunch. The rest of the family is having roast with potatoes and gravy. That is as fancy as I get these days.

I got an email from a friend that was about aluminum foil. It talked about how hard it was to use because the roll would fall out of the box. Look at the end of the box. It says “Press here to lock end”. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? Did you all know about it? I didn't but now my little tabs are pushed in. (I feel a little like Martha Stewart now!)

I'm getting ready to leave for the weekend. Going to my old school and eating with this year's library helpers and my aide. Then on to mom's so she can get groceries in. We're going to pig out at Shady Maple Smorgasbord and then to a little dress shop and Flower and Craft Warehouse on Sat. My bf and her mom and my mom are making a day of it. It's about 40 min from mom's. Sunday I'm going to HersheyPark. The group is a local group that does oldies. Thankfully the race is Sun pm so I should see the end at least. Monday is laundry day. We'll stay put.

That sounds like a fun weekend. I have no clue what we are doing. Was thinking about going to the Strawberry festival, but I think it will be boring.

Morning everyone! It may be true....upstate NY may be warming up enough to enjoy the holiday weekend. Its already sunny and I don't have to wear long sleeves, so I'm a bit hopeful!

Ok, so I've gone a little nuts and asked BF politely if he would consider growing his hair out a bit and getting a little scruffy. He asked "Is this about David Cook again?" Well yeah! I can have both my boyfriends in one body---and its only in his best interests to indulge me on this....

whgrn...good to hear that your DD is feeling ok (a bit hungry) and bored! Sorry about your crown and your Dr's appt. Doesn't it seem that everything happens at once? And please take some time to enjoy the weekend for yourself!

M&N...it sounds like you have a packed weekend! Be safe on the roads and enjoy. What fun you're going to have! Make sure to give us updates when you get back...

So, I ventured to the grocery last night and my cost went up about $40 from it is usually. Any my area's gas is going to $4.08/89. Its really scary. BF and I are just being really careful so we won't compromise our trip. Flights are already paid for--thank goodness we bought them before the luggage fee went into effect! So its going to be a quiet weekend for us, which is welcome especially if we can enjoy the outdoors some. I have my hot dogs ready! And am planning to make potato salad!

Lasagne turned out great, but looks like we may be eating it for a while. The recipe was generous!

Ok, so I'm an idiot. All worried about money and what do I go do? I make another ADR for Raglan Road. It wasn't all my fault. Someone generously posted about a $25 off $50 coupon to eat there, and since I wanted to anyway, I figured this is a good excuse! Meant to be!

I haven't told BF yet, I may have to wait until after he gets over the David Cook thing....

Anyone eat there yet? I've read really good things but was wondering what my TKers thought!

We ate there on our trip. We enjoyed the meals. DH had Shepard Pie and I had Sage Chicken Bangor and Mash.

I ate there for the first time a few weeks ago. What a crazy place!!! I couldn't believe how big it was. If you get a chance, walk over to the Shady Maple grocery store afterwards... its amusingly large, and the bakery section is YUMMY! (I walked out w/ a loaf of peach bread, a loaf of berry bread, and a package of macaroons drizzled w/ chocolate... bad for the tummy, but good for the mouth!)

If its the one at DTD, then yes. It was one of the best meals we had. We ate outside b/c the wait was shorter and it was very fun people watching. But, we did take a walk through the inside, and the decorations and stuff are cool. Since we were there w/ DS, we didn't stay very late (and we had just flown in, so it was a long day anyway) but they were going to have live music later. I can't remember exactly what I had, but I think it was bangers and mash and it was delicious! DS had the kids mac and cheese, and it was also amazing... I know, sounds silly for mac and cheese, but it wasn't like when they just serve the kids Kraft at restaurants around here.. it was homemade and garlicky and in its own little casserole dish. I think I had some kind of cheesecake for dessert too. Whatever it was, I know I was impressed. So, definitely a thumbs up from me!
