Thoughts on new countries in Epcot?

I would love to see Australia there too. You could do something with the Sydney Opera House, the harbour bridge and some aborigional content based on Uluru (Ayres Rock.)

Yeah...Brazil from South America would make more sense than would Argentina, imo. A Rain Forest exploration ride or something?

I still like Australia...esp. with the popularity of Nemo.

And Russia could add in a snow/ice-themed ride.

For me I cannot just bring it down to 2 countries. I would love to see Australia, Greece and South Africa.

For Australia, I think it would be fun to have some kind of surfing or outback ride. Or even, they could create a really fun ride with adventuring over Australia since it's such a diverse country.

Greece is just beautiful to me they could have something to do with Greek Gods, or the very old buildings around...

For South Africa, it's different. There's something crazy/mysterious/interesting about this place. One of friends who goes to WDW often also goes to South Africa a lot, she went winter 2008 and is back there again... with a WDW trip in the middle She swears that a SA pavillion would be wonderful and sucessful.

Why I don't think Russia will ever be a pavillion: there is still a continuing fued with a lot of counties but the US especially, I feel like if anything really did elevate to something serious, the pavillion may become in jeopardy.

Seriously......I like the idea of Egypt. Thats probably the only thing that would ever get me back to Epcot.

Although I like the thought of Antartica, its a continent and not a country. Iceland maybe?

Dont really need Africa as its represented heavily in AK.

Honestly, I'd like to see an "America". I'd like to see Disneys version of the country which has so much turmoil, war, poverty, hunger, and sickness....yet is viewed by the rest of the entire world as the place you can live out your dreams. I want to be able to see my own country through "their" eyes.

I think it has a lot to do with corporate sponsorship from the given country. Such as Nestle sponsoring Norway.

I think they should do a country like Somalia. There would be no food in the Somalia pavilion, but you can star in a commercial telling people that for $16 a week, you can be fed and clothed. Also, do not drink the water at the Somalia pavilion.

Israel - Can you imagine this pavilion during Christmas. It would be worth it just for that.

Russia - A replica of Red Square would be awesome.

Brazil - Carnivale anyone?

1) Whoever wants to pay
. . . $45-$70 million to build the exhibit ( a figure I saw elsewhere)
. . . $5-$15 million per year to operate it
2) ALL countries are sponsored and paid for by the sponsor.
3) Morocco is a state-sponsored exhibit.
4) All others are tourist bureaus or companies.

"Don't Russia to Conclusions - It's been more than 20 years since a new country was last added to the World Showcase, but that long dry spell may soon be over. Very quietly over the past few years, Disney has been putting out feelers to representatives from Russia, Australia, and Spain, in hopes that one of those countries might be interested in joining the community of nations around the World Showcase Lagoon. According to what my sources at Disney Imagineering tell me, the Russia pavilion that was orginally proposed for this theme park back in 1990 as part of the "Disney Decade" may finally be making its way off the drawing table soon."

I personally think they need to add a country from Africa or South America since there are none from either of those continents already. I like the Brazil idea with a boat ride down the Amazon!

I would welcome Brazil to the World Show Case. With the Olympics coming to the country, what a great way to get the word out. Maybe something with Rio in the main picture.

I really, really wish more would be added. At this rate, and yes, I understand the cost to the sponsors, it just seems like no other counties will ever be added to WS. I think that's a real shame, as it is such a fantastic display of culture and heritage for all to see!

1) I have always been partial to Antarctica.
2) Would be a nice respite during Florida summers.
3) Besides, it is even more "down under" than Australia.

I always thought they could make ice station cool Antartica.

Israel - Terrible idea no offense.You have to remember if they put in an Israel Pavilion the Arabs will want one too.Then Disney will have this whole PC problem going on bc now all of a sudden they hate Muslims and then it goes on to the war and you get the picture.

Russia - That sounds like a really good idea.Don't forget the vodka station

Brazil - Also a really good idea.Though I do like the boat ride down the Amazon idea.

I completely forgot about that one my bad.Israel would be a great idea now.It was one of my favorite vacations.
