Thoughts on new countries in Epcot?

There is room for at least two more countries, esp. next to Germany. My DP and I have thought for a while that an Australia pavilion would be awesome there. They could even do a near E-ticket ride...maybe a water ride called the East Australian Current where guests ride in cars shaped like sea turtles (Righteous. Righteous!)

And what did I happen to see at Food and Wine last night? *RIGHT* in front of that open area next to Germany? A food booth for.... Australia!!

Hmmm....

I'm sure it was just coincidence but wouldn't that be cool??

Picture that EAC ride...and maybe the Syndey Opera House building sitting out next to the water with a great restaurant inside?

Ooohw I would love to see Australia.

Besides this, with the amount of european countries I would love to see the Netherlands there as well. Maybe Amsterdam or focus on the rural area's. the fight against the sea etc.

Okay I am from the netherlands but still.. It would fit.

Might be interesting (btw, love the Netherlands, myself...stayed in Maastricht for 10 days on business once...loved it. Esp. the Martens Pils! :) ).

Another one I'd like to see is Russia. I've heard talk of Argentina but, to me, that just doesn't make sense.

Australia and/or Russia would add so much more diversity into the World Showcase, eh?

Or maybe Egypt?

India and Greece!

EPCOT already has an Australia Pavillion, except they call it Canada, England, or America.

Love the Australia idea, and it could include some other Pacific Rim countries.

Really, I can't think of a place I wouldn't want to see added -- Epcot would really benefit from a new pavilion or two.

Not sure why Argentina wouldn't make sense -- there's nothing from South America....

I'd love to see Egypt...or Greece....or Ireland...or actually I just want them to add something!!!!

Ireland!!!! LOL. Of course I am a bit partial. I agree with others though, a new pavilion or two would be wonderful. Not that I mind Epcot the way it is now either.

I like the Australia idea, and I also think Russia and India would be cool. Another unrepresented area is South America, so maybe a county like Brazil.

When I took that Backstage Magic tour I asked the tour guide about plans to add more countries and although she said that she wasn't aware of any plans she did mention that there is easily space for up to 6 more countries. She also said that the original plan for World Showcase was 30 countries!

What a great thread! I think the idea of Australia is great. Especially the ride!

Brazil would be another one I'd love to see.

One of the PPs mentioned that Australia was already represented in the forms of America, Canada and the UK. I wonder, did you mean because they're all predominantly english speaking countries, or what? I don't really get that connection. It's true they've got the queen on their money, but..

Votes from me for Egypt or Australia. Egypt especially, I've always been fascinated with the place since i was a child.

Last I checked, there were only dead presidents and founding fathers on U.S. currency.;)

1) I have always been partial to Antarctica.
2) Would be a nice respite during Florida summers.
3) Besides, it is even more "down under" than Australia.

i vote for Egypt. a pyramid with a ride in it would be so awesome.

I vote for Russia. My oldest DD was born there so it would be a huge hit in our family!
