Those Crocs/Airwalk thingys....

I walked 82 miles in my crocs during my December trip. I was surprised by how comfortable they were, and no blisters :)

I have 2 pair, DH has 1 pair and we got our 2 y/o a pair of the Payless ones. Man they are comfy!! My son wont hardly take his off!

Honestly, I didn't believe that these shoes could be so wonderful. I have bad hips and have been on medication for years to keep the pain under control. I bought the airwalks and they were comfy, but the colors were a little out there for me. I use those for around the house and in the water park. I purchased my first pair of crocs last summer for WDW and I have literally worn them to the ground. I recently purchased the enclosed black ones, I wear them everyday--I'm on my feet all the time, as I teach. I have not had hip pain that could not be controlled without the prescription meds in nearly ten years--guess what, with crocs I can go go go and no hip pain--I'm even off the meds. I purchased the niles, but they do run a bit more true to size so they were a bit snug--gave them to DD and I will order myself a new pair.

Mom has bad knees and I'm going to purchase her a pair, don't know if she'll wear them or not, but for me I'll take less than beautiful shoes over pain and meds anyday!

DD saw the tie-dyed knock offs at payless and asked for them--maybe in the Easter basket.

my DD (18) is a CNA and has a pair of white "crocs" she wears, loves those things, much better than her other "nursing" shoes, which are just as ugly. She just went out and got two other colors. These things are VERY popular in our area....I might need to get a pair just so I don't feel left out, I'm famous for owning ugly shoes.

Just bought a pair of Airwalks. Size 7 too small and the 8 too large. Can anyone tell me if Crocs come in half sizes and where do you get them? Thanks.

I'd like to try a pair but prefer open toe ( I'm used to my Birkenstocks) has anyone tried the Nile type and if so do they run true to size?

Another true believer here.

I bought my first pair last March after reading these boards. I now have four pair. 2 beach, 1 highland and the new Athens (flipflops). The highland I bought in August and they DO make my feet hot but are great for winter with socks.

I have a heel spur and have a lot of pain with most shoes after walking a lot. But I handled 8 days at Disney just fine.

I even wear mine on the treadmill now, lol...... :thumbsup2 . Feel better than my Reeboks or anything I have ever worn.

I will wear these beautiful, ugly things as long as they keep making them! :cheer2:

My name is Linda and I am a Croc addict.......

I got my first pair for my birthday in January....Cayman's in dark blue. I had a hard time taking them off! Now I have Navy, light blue and red as well. These are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn and like other posters I have had problems with my feet for as long as I can remember. I am really hard on shoes in general and often come home from work with sore feet and arches. With my Crocs, no pain at all even at the end of a 14 hour day.

For those of you who don't yet believe....all you ahve to do is try on a pair and you will be converted.

Linda

I got my first pair of Crocs last night! :cheer2: I went to 2 different stores and both the sales ladies asked me if I was a nurse. (I'm not). So far I love them. I did try the Airwalks from Payless and they fit tighter than the Crocs. My feet felt more comfortable in the Crocs. I got the khaki pair and have been kicking myself all day for not getting a 'fun' color. I will be getting more. I definitely want a pair of the orange ones to match all my Bengals clothes. I got DD2 a pair of the pink/purple tie dye's from Payless and she loves them. She called her Grandma when we got home to tell her she got new shoes like mommy!

are they leather ? plastic? can u wear them with bare feet? tia! (and where can i buy them! specialty shoe stores? eeek i hope i can find them in Canada!)

I don't know about the Airwalks, but the Crocs are supposed to fit big.

There are no half sizes. I usually wear a 7 1/2, but the 7's in crocs were too small -- I could feel my toe rub the end. I got an W8, and it's roomy, but I heard you want a little room in there. The bottom also says M6, so I suppose thats a MEN's 6. They are not leather. Crocs are this foamy rubber stuff, squishy. Feels great. Can wear without socks because the material is made in such a way that your feet don't sweat or stink. I have on socks right now just because the vent holes make it too airy right now.

One caution. My Crocs (well-loved and frequent WDW visitors) were worn down. I didn't realize how slippery they were until last Friday at MK when they were wet and I slipped and fell on the incline in the que at Space Mountain. I pulled my leg muscle and was a lot slower the rest of the trip. I'm still a Croc believer, will be buying another pair, but check your Croc bottoms for traction!

Are Crocs the shoes that they let you wear in the waterparks and on the slides? If not what are they? I know people wear something at the waterparks other than sandals because sandals you can't wear on the slides but we saw everybody wearing something in July 01. We didn't have anything and boy did we fry our feet at Blizzard Beach. Don't want to do that again on the upcoming trip. :confused3

you are probably thinking of "Aqua socks". they have been around for a long time. i had my first pair back in 1993 when i was on my highschool swim team. i wore them so my feet would not get cut up on the pools walls. after awhile people started wearing them everywhere there is water.

Though I didnt use crocs I found New Balance running shoes worked perfect.
Since I am pronate I didnt know if the crocs would support my foot.

I love my Crocs and I have tried the knock offs and they don't fit as well. However, I would buy my youngest dd a pair of knock-offs if they had them in her size because they only make crocs starting at a toddler 8/9. How low do the Payless shoes go in terms of kids sizes?

My older dd calls us the "Croc Family" because we always go out with our crocs on together. I'd love to have a pair for my toddler for the water (and, who am I kidding, for the "croc family pictures").

P.S. I bought my first pair on a trip in Canada. I think one of the factories is located in Canada so you should be able to find them there!

Crocs are made of some kind of resin. I think of the material as something like packing peanuts, only much denser. They are unbelieveably light in weight. You can wear them with or without socks. I find them comfiest with socks, but I also wore them sockless all last summer, and they were very cool and comfortable, due to the air circulation vents.

I stopped by Payless today and looked at the tie dyed ones. Those suckers are BRIGHT! The pictures don't show the full scope of the brightness!
