Those Crocs/Airwalk thingys....

I tried on a pair of crocs and they just don't fit my feet right. They seemed to rub my toes and I just knew I would end up with blisters. They did seem they would be comfy though by how soft they felt.

I have a pair of Crocs that were given to me as a gift. I like them but my feet tend to sweat in them. I haven't given up on them though. They are so light, it's almost like wearing nothing on your feet.

ok i am looking in my city for a supplier. LOL i am convinced. i called my mum just now to tell her what i had 'found' and she said 'oh yea, they were in the paper a month ago. i have a pair' i said 'you what?' and she said "yea i have a pair. got them in Maine in the fall, orange. they are really funky and willl use them at the cottage" sigh. moms really do know it all. LOL

QUESTION: what is the difference between BEACH and CAYMAN?

Beach and Cayman look just alike (with the holes all over), but they're sized differently. Beaches cover two full sizes (like W8-9), and Caymans are single sized (W8). I believe Caymans are also a little narrower than Beaches.

I bought my Crocs last year on vacation in Colorado. I had never heard or seen them prior but in CO in the Rockies they were the hot item. I bought a pair in Steamboat Springs. My dh made soooo much fun of me.

Since then I have worn them so much. I wore them to the Rose Parade in the total downpour and they were great. I have worn them to DL several times.
I wear them almost everyday. I know around my hometown in rural Southern CA that people look at me wearing them and think they are hideous, but I LOVE them!!! They are so comfortable I highly recommend them.

I need to invest in another pair. At our local mall in La Jolla a kiosk has opened up that sells Crocs so I guess they are getting trendy! LOL!!!

walmart has some too. BUT they didnt have that soft gooshy feel to them. Had bumps in them that I guess are like massaging bumps but that would drive me absolutely nuts. For the person asking about smaller ones...I think these went pretty small. There was one pair that looked very tiny.

Okay I'm going to try on the air walks...but can anyone tell me where they carry crocs so I can compare?

We love our Crocs! They do tend to wear down on the bottom, but I really don't care they are so wonderful. We were the first to have them around here and many folks did laugh, but now they are wearing them. We bought some knockoffs without holes from allheart.com and they have been great for winter. I plan to get all new real Crocs for the spring and summer. My DS14 thinks they are the best. He has always had problems with his feet hurting but can walk for ever in his Crocs. We have the beach model and they are big, but the next smaller size did not fit as well. If you wear a half size I would go up not down in size.

Just a quick note about Crocs and Airwalks....The material they are made of is neither plastic nor rubber but a patented closed-cell resin material that prevents odor-causing bacteria and that makes the shoe weigh less than six ounces. Natural body heat causes the PCCR material to mold and customize its shape to the person's foot. Just a little FYI :goodvibes

....my neighbor works at a shoe store and says ppl have been reporting the ability to "shrink" their crocs and airwalks in the microwave for a better, tighter fit. However, she attempted this herself and the little buttons that hold the strap on flew off. :stir: Another customer told her that she left hers in her car during the hot summer, and came back to a pile of melted "rubber"...or so it looked. :confused3 Just passing along info.

Does anyone know of a place selling crocs for less that the $29.99 at Dicks?

We need at least three pair of them. Plus I would like to try the lime green and Dick's only had blue, ivory, black and brown.

I don't know about "shrinking" them - I sort of did the opposite. Crocs.com recommends choosing a size where your feet fit the footbed without touching the ends (with the strap turned forward). If the strap is too tight when you turn it back, they say you can stretch it by pulling gently on it, and it will "remember" where you pulled and stay there. I fitted myself this way, but I couldn't get the strap to stay stretched out for more than a few minutes. I put my crocs in the dryer on low heat for a few minutes, and when they came out (feeling very soft and pliable) I just put them on and wore them around the house. Instant perfect fit! I've done this with 2 pairs now, and it worked perfectly both times.

I saw a lot of Crocs last summer at WDW, and thought about getting a pair. When we returned home, I found a kiosk selling them at the local mall. My fiancee' and her daughter bought a pair. They loved them, so I ran out and bought myself a pair as well. They were great for the summer.

I like mine so much that last week I bought another pair with no holes at all in them. (Aspen model) They are chocolate brown, and look very similar to the shoes I normally wear. I'm a sixth-grade teacher, so I'm on my feet a lot each day. These things are incredible. My feet do not hurt at all!

I would highly recommend Crocs to all..

So if I wear a 7 1/2 what style do you think would fit better? :confused3

Thanks.

Honestly, I'm not too sure why people would buy the Beach model as opposed to the Cayman model. It says on the website that the Cayman is the new and improved model, taking into account everything they learned since creating the Beach model, plus all of the suggestions made by those who purchased the Beach model originally.

Perhaps something akin to owning a classic car?

I thought the same thing as you. It is the new and improved model of the same shoe/sandal and it comes in whole sizes instead of small/medium/large. It seems like they should just phase out the Beach model.

I don't think there was a Cayman when I bought mine. All I have seen in the stores are the Beach and the Aspen. Would love to try on a pair of Cayman's I wear a half size and my Beach's are just a tad to large. I think that they may phase out the Beach. Before the Aspen there was another modle that had no holes and not it is gone.

I have a pair of Butter Beach and I love them. I think the Beach model is here to stay for those of us with a wider foot. Caymans are more narrow. Now to just decide between purple or lime green next :rolleyes1 DS5 just got his first pair (red) and has worn them to school every day this week (that he has't had gym). My 3 year old kept swiping them so we bought him a pair as wel. Now DH wants a pair too. Wonder if the Payless knock-offs come small enough for our one year old as well :scratchin ::yes:: :rotfl:

Okay, that's what I was looking for....a reason that people would purchase the Beach over the Cayman. That makes perfect sense if the Caymans really are made for those with a more slender foot.
