But are Credit cards/debit accepted every where in the park? I only ask because I hate carrying cash on me. I would like to use my debit because I get Disney rewards with it. TIA

I don't believe they are accepted at the snack stands, like popcorn, churruo's, ice cream, etc., I think they are cash only.

We've never had a problem using our debit card anywhere, including snack stands. I hate carrying cash. The only thing I can think of is vendors that walk around, like balloons and such.

Thank you that is helpful. I am sure I can carry a few dollars for a vendor but I hate to have cash to pay for everything.

I hate carrying cash as well, but i may have to. I am not sure if my Canadian Debit Card will work, nor do I want to pay fees if I can, and I don't want to use my credit card too often.

i use my mastercard and my visa at DLR like its going out of style!! on some snack carts they only accept cash, but others credit cards!
everywhere i have gone my cards have been accepted.. :goodvibes

o i feel like i am in a visa commercial:
"visa , for everywhere at disneyland you want to be"

:rotfl:

According to our kind CMs that wander onto the boards every so often, almost every vendor takes cards now. There are a very few, like wandering balloon vendors, and that sort of thing, that don't, but even the ice cream people, according to the CMs, accept cards.

FYI, there are also ATMs in the parks, and they are Chase, which is lovely (the OP says she gets disney rewards which means she has Chase just like me). No fees for us for those times you have to get cash!

Funny thing about those carts - like, let's say the cart that sells the yummy pineapple spears on Main Street, for example - is that I used a gift card at that cart last year. I asked the CM if they were allowed and he said yes. He said they didn't accept the Annual Pass discount at the carts, but that you could pay with various forms of plastic, including gift cards and debit cards, etc.

Then, when I got some gift cards this year, I looked at the fine print on the gift card website and it said somewhere in there that the gift cards are not accepted at the carts (or at Taste Pilots Grill?). So if that's true, it is a new development as of this year - and it made me wonder if they were no longer taking debit cards at those specific places, either.

In any case, aside from the carts, I have not only used my regular bank debit card all over DLR, but I have even used my PayPal debit card with no problem. DLR is such a big tourist destination, and they get visitors from all over the world - it just makes it easier for everyone if they accept as any forms of payment as possible

Just remember that your debit card may have a limit...although most of the time if you contact your bank they will raise it.

its funny you mention that sherry . becuase i did try once to get a snack at a cart and they had no way to accept credit cards. it was cash only.

and at the karl strauss cart thing in pacific warf, they do not accept the ap for food discount, is that because its not over $10? i just dont understand why they didnt accept it not that it was a big deal, but still i am just curious as to why. becuase i dont think it has to do with the alcohol, cause at the wine bar when i get a cheese platter i get a discount on that item only. and its like $12.00!!!!

and i never carry cash anymore at the parks, if i do its goes in my pass holder lanyard thing. otherwise its too much of a hassle to remember wether or not you spent your last ten at taste pilots. i just rather use my cards, its just much easier. specially when i cant count change!! RFLOL

but yea my visa is my debti card, linked to my bank account, and my mastercard is ....... a capital one.. rflol

o so i have question is chase better then like bank of america?? can someone tell me?!

I honestly like Chase better. They now have rewards programs one is for Disney. That is the one that I have. I switched over from Wells Fargo. I know my Aunt switched form B of A to Chase.

Thanks for the information. Since I would be using the debit as a CC I know how much I can spend. I am sure I am not going to spend more then $500 a day. Especially since the hubster is going. I like to spend his money.

Taste Pilots has never been on the list (at least not since sep '07 when we became AP holders and I got the list). Neither has Royal Street Veranda, and I've NEVER gotten them to do the discount for me (but someone on mouseplanet has). The ice cream place BrrBank isn't on the list, either, but the bakery right next to it is.

The carts are weird about the AP discount. Even when they take the debit cards they won't always do the discount b/c they say their machines don't accept them. As much as I like the coffee cart near the castle (when there's no line), for those times that I want that discount (I keep talking like I still have an AP, sigh) I'll go to the bakery, not them, for my silly iced latte. :upsidedow

I didn't even have an AP when I went to the pineapple spears cart last year, but I remember that there were limitations on which places took the discounts.

It's the regular Disney gift cards I was confused about, because I had used a gift card at the pineapple spears cart last year, but then when I started accumulating gift cards this year to set aside for future DLR trips, I noticed in the fine print on the gift card website that the gift card is not accepted at the carts.

So that made me wonder if this was a new development as of this year or if the website was wrong. The pineapple spears guy told me last year that debit cards were accepted as well as the gift cards for payment. But the GC the website seems to indicate they cannot be used. So then I wondered if only the gift card usage was banned from the carts this year, or if they stopped taking debit cards too? In other words, have all the carts switched to all cash or can you still use plastic?

Has Taste Pilots Grill never accepted gift cards for payment? That seems odd, since all the other counter service places do.

yeah bumper get with the program!! RFLOl just kdding..

yeah they take ap, at taste pilots grill..i mean they will take your money also!! RFLOL

but gift cards i have no idea. never even used a disneyland giftcard

Oh, giftcards, sorry! I'm not focusing properly, it seems.

I don't know...sorry. :(

It's okay! I'm lucky if I can even focus on one thing I have to do at home, let alone multiple things. This brain is old and tired!!:rotfl2: (And I don't have a huge Orlando trip [in a few months] to plan for, as you do!!)

Gift cards... I got one yesterday for my birthday! I have an amazing friend!!! I think I am going to buy my first pair of "ears" when I am there with it.

That's a nice friend!! I love those gift cards because not only are they so versatile, and can be used at DLR & WDW for food, hotels, tickets, merchandise, at the Disney Store, for PhotoPass, at the Walt Disney Travel Company, etc., but for me, they are a great way to set aside "Disney money" that I know for sure will go towards a Disney trip. If I just tried to set aside cash, I would be too tempted to use it for something else. But the combination of the gift cards and the Disney Visa Rewards redemption card guarantees dedicated Disney money that cannot be used for any other purpose, so that is very helpful for trips!!

I bought a churro last week at the churro stand outside of Buzz' Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland with my Debit Card. I even purchased a piece of fruit from the Main Street Fruit Cart with my Debit Card. The only thing we couldn't use it for was a Balloon. They don't have card machines.
