This Is Us- Season two

I’m not much of a fan of “pretty” men (I like guys with a little edge, crooked nose, scar, “worn” a little bit) but I wouldn’t turn him away that’s for sure. I have noticed that when he talks his mouth is crooked. At first I thought it was the drunk scenes but it’s all the time and now it bugs the heck out of me.

So a crooked nose is okay but you draw the line at a crooked mouth? lol

It’s just something I only recently noticed. Not bad or good. Milo is too pretty for me.

I have not watched the first few episodes again, but I only noticed it in the drunk scenes and then after. I wonder if once he did the drunk scenes, he started adding it.

Of course!!

What (or who) is your favorite thing about the show so far?
Thanks!!

Of the three kids I like Randall the best. Then Kevin and Kate in that order. There's just something about Randall, though. His character is so raw. He is such a brilliant actor. The Kevin character is growing on me and I'm starting to really feel him and his vulnerabilities.

I can't connect with Kate. I think it's because I grew up heavy and had many of the same scenarios from well-meaning family members that Kate experiences in the childhood scenes. I was always the one kid in my house on a diet. At some point you have to let it go and grow up.

Then there is Jack. He is everything. He is by far my favorite character. He's just so loving and kind despite his start in life. Very interesting plot twist about the brother. Can't wait for more info hopefully this week.

Toby is great comic relief and Rebecca is so frustrating. Both actors do their jobs right. Beth always seems mad. I think her character will develop more with the introduction of Deja.

I wish it was Tuesday already! I'm hooked!

That’s the first time I noticed it. Rebecca is telling him to get in the car and he admits he’s drunk and has been for weeks. I really did think he was doing that for those scenes, like he didn’t have to hide being drunk anymore.

Milo was in that show Heroes a few years back, and I recall reading an interview at that time in which he said he was born with some sort of nerve damage of the face or mouth, and that was why the one side of his mouth droops a little.

Yep, I think he's always had it. I watched an interview from Gilmore Girls and noticed. I think we didn't notice it earlier in the series because he had a beard and that hid it well. It bugs me, too, but I still love Jack.

That makes sense. I wouldn’t have known that about him, I didn’t watch Gilmore Girls or Heroes. He is new to me as is most of the cast with the exceptions being Mandy Moore and Sterling K. Brown.

I looked it up a a while back. He was born that way and really didn't notice how pronounced it was until he saw himself on video. He asked his mom "do I really talk like that?" and spent the next months or years training himself to talk with less of a droop. I think it's cute, though. I'm a sucker for little imperfections like that.

I just read that Mandy Moore is only 33. Wow, I thought she was well into her 40's. She is actually younger than her present day on screen kids.

IMO she was a not-so-great casting choice for the role and the ageing effects they've used are woeful. :sad2: Weird when so many other aspects of the show are top-notch.

She by far the weakest of the actors, but her character makes me nuts, so I wonder if that makes me biased?

Should be good tonight, it's Halloween , loved themed shows.

Glad it is on late enough so won't be interrupted by Trick or Treaters.
