I agree! Especially with baking :lmao: I know I have a sweet tooth, but the funny thing is that as much as I bake lately, I haven't been eating much of it :lmao:

I'll have to find out if they do offer work study, but if I'm doing work study in addition to full time school, I don't know when I'd have time for a regular job :lmao:

Perhaps you can work at the competing restaurant across the street?

OK, I'm starting to fade....need to feed the kids and run the massager on my forearms before passing out.

Turns out we need to repair the current SUV, so we have to take that in tomorrow morning after the nurse shows up. Then I put Fran in her chair while I go shopping for big meat on sale for Easter. I already have two hams, and really I have enough Prime Ribs for the year, but she wants me to get more since they are $4.99 per lb.

My mom has our ham sitting out to thaw, but we do have to run out to pick up some things tomorrow afternoon. I'm likely going to start working on pieces of my cake tomorrow when we're done shopping.

Good Night everyone. Sleep well when it's your turn.

OK feeding the kids, I may check in from the cell phone once I go to bed otherwise, see you all tomorrow!

I'm up, had a shower, the nurse is tending to her leg. It's really nasty. I hate to see what it will look like after tomorrow.

We finally got our Tribune broadcasting station back. Not sure how many of you have DirecTV, but what a debacle! It's amazing how a stupid morning news show becomes part of a daily routine!

I don't have DirectTV, but I did hear about the nonsense with WGN, since that's a local station and the station they air most of the Cubs games on. DirectTV got back with them just in time for the Cubs home opener. Apparently WGN wanted DirectTV to pay to air them.

Hmmm... Silly double post!

That's standard for providers like DirecTV to be paid to carry their programming, but this was a big mess. I'm just glad it's over. I bet the Cubs opener had a whole lot more to do with it than my silly morning news show!

I'm really glad the internet came around. Saved me a lot of time wasted watching stories about places and things I don't care about to see the weather forecast.

To weird, going towards 9 am and there is no one playing games.

Quiet morning I guess.

If I remember right, WGN wanted to BE paid, not pay, by DirectTV. I might be wrong, though. I wasn't really paying attention to it since WGN's a local station here and I don't have cable anyway :lmao:

No that's it. They couldn't agree on the amount that DirecTV was going to pay Tribune and evidently after they had thought they worked it out moneywise, some Wall Street bankers pulled the plug on keeping broadcasting going while negotiations continued. I'm guessing DirecTV had to pony up for what Tribune wanted with all the flack they must have received.

TV channels owners, many channels are part of conglomerates, and the service providers argue all of the time. It's crazy that they do, but understandable. Basically some channels are expensive for the service provider and some cheap. The channel owners will only sell baskets of thier products to the service providers. This is why a la carte options are hard to provide, though would greatly help consumers.

With a la Carte we would probably have to pay a base of $25, and then $5 per channel.

Basically because the provider buys a package of 4 channels, the two we want that cost it $4 and $4, but also the two we could care less about that cost it $1 and 50c. It somehow has to make money of the crap channels that come with. So what they do is say hey for XYZ1 and XZY2 we will throw on XYZ3 and XYZ4, for only the low price of $12. So they make about 33% telling us what a great deal we are getting, and throwing in the extra 2 channels that we won't ever watch.

It really convaluted, and screws consumers.

afternoon everyone... Late start here with a Dr appt so just now getting on board!
