The buses pick you up in fromt and to the left of the lobby. It is about a 3 or 4 minute walk to the bus.

Both have concierge rooms. We stayed at the Beach Club Conceirge floor the first week of May. The staff was great, especially Theresa, and the food was wonderful.

My family and I are going to DW for our first time next April (I know, probably a bit early for me to be planning things), and we are staying at the BC after switching from the Poly because of rumor about mold. Is there anywhere that tells how long it takes to get to each of the resorts from the BC and how to do it? I'm trying to plan our meals/ PS :teeth: .

Also, my husband wants to know why I booked at a deluxe when moderate or value would've been so much better money-wise. Are the deluxes (specifically the BC) really worth the money???

We stayed at the BC the first week of May. We had Ps's for Whispering Canyon and Chef Mickey's. We took the bus to Mk and then boated over to the WL and took the monorail to CR. It is time consuming to get from resort to resort unless you have your own car or take a taxi.

I wouldn't be concerned about the mold problem at the Poly. We have never had a moldy room and all the longhouses have just been refurbished. I LOVE the Poly. The BC was nice, Storm Along Bay is great, but the Poly is magical. The transportation options are better from the Poly and if you have little kids and are going to spend more time at MK, the Poly can't be beat.

I love the Deluxe hotels, I have never stayed at a moderate or value so can't comment. The deluxes have queen size beds and the rooms are larger. I know some people don't spend a lot of time in their room, but it is nice when you do. The dinning options are better at Deluxes also. I guess you can say we are deluxe snobs. I think it is the only way to go. I have heard good things about POR and POFQ also.

Thanks for the info! Wow, I don't think we'll be going to Chef Mickey's from the BC then since it is such a hassle! So you would pick Poly over BC hands down? Did you ever go to Trails End from BC? I've heard there are pony rides there and a petting zoo so I thought a dinner there might be in order as long as it doesn't take too long to get there.

::yes:: I LOVE the Poly. We will be staying there for Halloween. My whole family loves it there. I can't wait to go back. The BC was nice and I would stay there again, but the buses seemed to take forever and everything we wanted to do was near MK. We did get to do things that we had never done, like rent a Surrey Bike at the Boardwalk. I want to go back when DD is older. I think my heart will always be at the Poly.

To get to Trails End you would have to take the bus to MK then then boat to Ft. Wilderness. There is an age minimum for the Pony rides, I think it is 10.

My advice would be to see what you want to do and Where you want to eat, then pick a resort. Choose one that is closer to the most activities. I do think either one is amazing. If you have more questions just ask.

I wouldn't necessarily put Chef Mickey's on the back burner if you're staying at the BC. You could walk into Epcot and take the monorail to TTC and then from TTC to CR. You also have the option of a cab that will take you directly to CR without the other bus stops.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say the transportation options are better. Yes...the BC busses have probably the largest route to cover, but...if you are planning on visiting Epcot and MGM during your stay, you can walk or boat to both parks from the BC, and then monorail up to MK. If you're going to be spending a majority of your time at MK, then Poly might be your better choice.

All in all have a good trip

We always stay at the YC/BC and now the BWV, and we always go to Chef Mickey's. We take the bus to the MK, then walk over to the Contemporary. When we are done, we take the monorail to the TTC then hop the monorail to Epcot. We stroll around and watch Illuminations before we go back to the resort. It is one of our favorite evenings on each trip.

Thanks for the info. I copied everyone's transportation directions and will definitely use them. I know we'll have fun either way. It's so hard to know how spread out DW is just from looking at the maps, but all of your posts helped a lot! Now, I'll just cross my fingers and hope for some great discounts!!! :earsgirl:

You are going to have a great time wherever you stay! Chef Mickey's is great a worth the travel time. Sometimes half the fun is trying to get somewhere!

Joe we just visited your site through a link and many of your links and photos wouldnt open wondering what might have been wrong

I just saw on the theme parks thread that a gator was spotted at the BC/YC canal! IS this connected to the pool/lake area?

They also spotted one in Bay Lake.

The canal is connected to the lake but not to the pools. I wouldn't be very concerned though. It would be difficult for the gator to actually get on land where you would be walking. And there is no swimming allowed in the lake.

I just saw your info on the wonderful upgrade! Congrats to you. Was that at the YC or BC? We are torn between the two and would love to know. Thanks.

It was the Yacht Club. I prefer the atmosphere there and almost all the rooms have balconies unlike the Beach Club. Another good option is the Boardwalk. I'd take BW or YC over BC because of the balconies.

Are any of the rooms with 2 queens and a daybed standard view or are they all Water? Thanks.

I think you can get a queen and daybed in either standard or water view. Request it when you make your reservation or call them back if you've already made yours. We had a beautiful water view room on the fourth floor, far from the lobby but overlooking the marina, concierge priveleges (not room or floor) and the 2 queen beds with daybed. I don't think there are very many king beds so the odds of you getting what you want are pretty high.
