Amy Jacobson at BC/YC/BWI Concierge spoiled us rotten and was so helpful in making all our plans, and changing them, and adding to them and cancelling things.. lol she is tops.

Since there seems to be a little confusion, I checked the official WDW website and found the following for the Yacht Club rooms:

- - - - - - -
Yacht Club Resort Guest Rooms

Standard - Two Queen Beds

These rooms feature two queen-size beds, table and chairs, ceiling fan, minibar, private balcony, vanity area with two sinks, and bath. Many Guest Rooms feature water views. Non-smoking and disabled-accessible rooms are available.

Guest Room amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port on the base of desktop telephone, television speaker and phone in bath area, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, refrigerator (upon request), and minibar.

I hope that helps (and that the official website is accurate). ;)

Sorry, there were no minibars in our YC room in June.

Should I request a corner standard room or fifth floor standard at BC? We're a family of 5 and I want to make sure we get a room that has two queens. I've read that fifth floor rooms used to be concierge level and are a bit larger, and that corner standard rooms a larger as well. Any thoughts/suggestions? I don't want to make any unrealistic demands and ruffle any room assigner feathers, but it would be nice to have a larger room if possible.

When we were there the last week in August, there was a mini bar - we got the key from the front desk and it had spirits, soda, juices and snack foods along with a price list. The food was replenished daily and a tab of the items we took was charged to our hotel bill.

As for the larger room.... I'm pretty sure the fifth floor is still concierge. When we were there, we had a really big room on the fourth floor. I'd heard that YC isn't thrilled about recieving room requests, so I faxed the hotel a few days before and asked for a "quiet, larger room on an upper floor that overlooked the garden/gazebo" ("if possible, thank you very much!") We ended up in room 4125, which was awesome as far as standards go. Terrific view and very roomy.

I would make the request a general request, while making sure to slip in the one thing that means the most to you. For me it was the larger upper floor room. Good luck

We so loved it there!!!!

anyone have any photos of the new beach club standard rooms?

Also, does anyone have a reccomendation for standard connecting rooms?

Thanks!

What a neet resort. We had a good time at the BCV. Stormalong bay is awesome. We saw the gator and Art.....noticed no smells. There were tons of lizards and frogs...must have been all the rain. We will stay here again. Wonder if they are planning a Yatch Club Villas? - Steve

Anita - you leave soon correct?

Welcome back Steve!!

How was the weather, your room, the restaurants, and the parks?

Hope you had fun and enjoyed the time with your wife.

So tell us everything.

Yes, we leave sooooon!!

For the YC, how & when to you make room requests. Do you fax requests to the room controller the same way you do for regular rooms, or does the request go somewhere else?

Thank you!

Thanks Anita

See my trip report for details. We could have used some better weather but managed to dodge most of the rain. The beach club/yatch club area is the best. I love walking out of Epcot at night when everyone else is scrambeling for busses. Stormalong bay is awesome. Make sure you get a few "big walks" in prior to your leaving....I bet we walked between 7-10 miles each day. I'll have to tell you about Ralph at Cape May....great guy! - Steve

RE: room request for YC
I have only requested room locations through the concierge desk. Never had a problem...but I'm not too picky.

Hope someone else has a better answer for you.

Steve,
I'm going to check out the trip reports now!!

Anita

Thanks Anita, I guess my question was a little confusing. I should have asked how do you make room requests if you're staying on conceirge level?

I call the concierge desk the day before I leave and request: two queen beds and day bed near the elevators. We normally get a water view so it doesn't matter about the view.

One year I did call the room controller to request a certain room or location...but have found calling the day before gets the best results.

Good luck
Anita

I have poured over all of this great info. I have a question about YC rooms 4057, 59, 61, 63, 65. What are these rooms and what view do they have?

What about YC rooms 4067-4079? What types of rooms are these and what views?

Finally,Rooms 4070-4078?

Thanks

Are there any newer room pictures? I was just wondering if there is any "Disney" decor in the rooms. For example in the GF there is Mickey topiary and Alice In Wonderland themes in the fabrics in the room. Is there anything to remind you that you're in Disney World at these resorts, or are they just meant to simulate New England?
Thanks:)

I'm trying to decide whether to pack my 4-cup coffee maker (along with all the coffee-making supplies) for a stay at YC (standard water-view room.)

Will there be a convenient place to plug it in, or will it just be in my way?

Should I just suck it up and order room service coffee each morning?

I really need my coffee when I wake up. Really.

(Apologies if this has been answered earlier- there are LOTS of posts to go through here!)

devine5829 We just got back from the YC and stayed in room 1075, 1077, and 1079. So, the fourth floor has the same #'s would be above us. The view is of the trees around Stormalong Bay straight ahead, the gazebo to the left, and you can see the lagoon, pretty much where the boardwalk goes out to the lighthouse/ferry stops to the right. You can also view Illuminations fireworks from these rooms. I absolutely loved the view from these rooms. I took pics of the views and am in the process of putting my pictures online and will send you a link to view them.

KathyTX You can buy a refillable mug at Ale & Compass (lobby bar). The cost, I believe, was $10.95. You can have coffee refilled there every morning for free. Also, any type of soda from there, Hurricane Hanna's, or Beaches & Cream takeout.

teentoddlermom The bedspreads at the YC are nautical but have ropes looped to look like Mickey face/ears. There is also a mirror with a "woven rope" around it that has the same Mickey face/ears. In the hallways, the carpeting has some hidden Mickeys in it.

My wife has always REQUIRED that I lug along the portable coffee maker. Not that an early morning trip through the lobby or grounds of YC for the refillable mug isn't pleasant - it is - we are just not even functional at all until after the first cup. We really haven't found it too inconvienient to bring the portable and supplies and then cook up a few cups to get the day underway. The room service coffee is really nice but quite pricey for just coffee. Also, I put the travel coffee maker and supplies in an ice chest and check it through as luggage, after arrival we hook up and coffee pot and use the ice chest as an ice chest. While returning the ice chest then becomes a suvenier carrier... good thinking no? he,he. Hope this is helpful!

First forgive me if this is a dumb question but I've been up since 4:15am with my DS and I'm waiting for more coffee to brew. I get that it's at the Yacht Club Yale and Compass you can get a refillable mug which I would just have to have to have morning coffee and DH's soda. But can you still request a coffee maker for your room?
