Oh one more question. Did you notice if beer was available at the concierge lounge?
Thanks

Hi there,

Yes I saw beer! The guys seem to be happy about it :)

I stick to the baileys and drambuie :)

Definately ask for a room close to the lounge/elevators... I find the walk long - but I still love the room.

>>^..^<<

I have a couple of questions that might sound silly, but I'm staying at the BC for the first time next August and just started wondering. I know we'll have to show our room keys when we go to Stormalong Bay, but where do you keep them after you get in? I'm picturing myself trying to figure out what to do with the keys when I want to go swimming. Also, I heard they have people who come around to take your drink order. Can the drinks be charged to your room?

The last time I was at BC (2001) you could order drinks with your room key.

Also I do leave my room key with my beach bag  but I also never leave sight of the beach chairs. Usually some one is reading or relaxing in the chair...and we usually stay by the slide in the shade (less crowded there) and the lifeguard is right there too.

Not like they watch your stuff...but we've never had a problem.

Booked Y/C concierge this morning for Christmas week. Does anyone have photos of holiday decorations?? Also, any one care to comment on their Holiday experience??

Going to YC this month and love the iced scooners of beer in the Crews Cup! However last few visits they deleted my favorite appetizer (nachos). Cast member said that because Yacht club Galley is closed the appetizers com from the Yachtman Steakhouse. So I was wondering if you can tell me if the Yacht Club Galley is open yet?

The YCG was open when we were there in July. I dont know about the nachos we didnot go in to eat. We were just walking by.

I think alot about walking around the lake - back to BCV - past the Dolphin and the Swan to MGM.....over to Epcot.... gets me through my day here at work! I have a picture in my bathroom of myself, my wife, and two kids - all face - taken from the photo booth along the boardwalk. Has a great Mickey Mouse with a surry bike on it..... ah....only a few more weeks and we'll be there!

When we've stayed at the YC or BC, we usually have several items we just leave at our chairs. Hats, shirts, mugs, pool shoes, we just put our key in my fanny pack or a bag, and put in on the chair under the towels, with all the other stuff. We have never had a problem with any of it being taken. I know it may not be the best, but we do what we have to do.

Erika

I'm sure not their the quality of YCG but Hurrican Hannah's has nachos at poolside.

Good Heavens let me try that again.

I'm not sure they're the quality of YCG ...but Hurricane Hannah's has nachos at poolside.

Funny Anita!

I'm getting pretty excited about our trip im.....18 days! We have a wedding to make it through the week befor we leave but my mind will be in Disney!

Hi Brownsoup,

Always happy to supply grammatical humor!

18 days huh? Can you stand it? Talking to the kids yesterday about the trip and when we officially felt we were "on vacation."

To me it was when we get picked up by Tiffany town car at the airport, to Nikki it was when we entered the gates, to Ryan when
we check-in and to Coco when we board the airplane.

I love going to a place that everyone looks forward to soooo much.

Enjoy the wedding and post your trip review when you get back

My wife and I are taking a "parents adult Disney" trip - son (3) and daughter (2) are staying home. We all went last year and after that trip - we decided that we (her and I ) needed to come back alone. We'll plan next years trip around the kids once again. We will celebrate our 11th anniversary at Disney. For us - driving down I-95 and entering Fla is when vacation begains. Another post that I read stated "I know I'm on vacation when I hear "Zippiity do da...Zippity day!""

Anita, how do you "get into" vacation" sooner then later. Have you ever went on vacation only to take 3 days to feel that you are on vacation.....then ..... right when you are in the stride of things................:( you have to get ready to leave! 14 days would help but my wife and I are trying to think up ways to feel "on vacation" earlier....tips? Steve

Steve,

Congrats on your 11th Anniversary!!

Tips huh? I get into it reading this board and the Trip reports board. Great fun! Looking at pictures from past trips or reading your journal/diary from the trip. It's almost more than I can stand!!!

I think it helps if you have a tradition on the very first day. Like the other post "What's the first thing you do".

Since we have been to WDW so many times we have the luxury of creating a tradition.

You and your wife should do something special after you check-in. It doesn't have to be expensive..just something goofy...then YOU ARE THERE...

The other secret is NEVER NEVER NEVER let anyone's bad mood or bad manners affect YOU! Find something funny about it and don't talk about it or rehash it. The more you talk the madder you become. Hey you paid a lot for this vacation, don't let someone else drive it.

And finally, never plan the perfect vacation. Won't happen. We've been all over Europe and have never had a perfect vacation...BUT we have always had a blast!

Whew, that's enough preaching.

Thanks Anita....... I hear you on many levels. On our last trip - I found out where the Walgreens pharmacy was because our infant daughter had a fever the whole time and started vomiting oral tylenol.......I had to drive out from the Boardwalk at 3am and locate a Walgreens....got lost ( a few times), found the anal supository acetaminophen, and drove back - only to pull right up to the Epcot parking lot...... no one was there, obviously, but finally saw a security guy who directed me back to the Boardwalk. Got back a little after 4 and got the medicine to my daughter............

Then next day (well - actually that day) my son got up bright and early and we proceded to pull of a pretty zippity du da day complete with Buzz Lightyear and Pooh's honey pots!

Gotta roll with it for sure!

Thanks for the good tips - I think our tradition is staying over the night befor at Fernandina Beach in Fl.........it puts us 3-4 hours driving distance from Disney and it helps us to get in that vacation mode.

Also - the drive itself is a warm up. I'll be sure to bring my Disney audio tapes! -Steve

Sorry about your baby girls upset. Geez those kids, it's always something.

The EPCOT parking lot at 4:00 am. Don't think many of us have had the pleasure!! Except...maybe the Griswold's. HA!

You are a great dad to make the most of the next day with your son. You and your wife deserve this vacation!!
Anita

I can see myself now with a fake gun in the side of the security guard saying "We drove all this way to have fun - and we're going to have fun".........Steve

Question - My wife and I plan on ariving early and checking in early at the Beach Club Villas on Sat. While we are waiting for our room - will we be able to use the Stormalong Bay (sp?) pool? -Steve

As long as you've checked in, you can use the pool.
Enjoy!
