I had asked this in a separate thread, but thought I'd jump in here and ask again since you are all YC experts!

We're staying there in mid-September and I was a little disappointed when I called for pool hours and was told 7 am to 8 pm.

Hurricane Hannah's looks like it has some nice drinks and we pictured ourselves sipping tropical drinks at poolside late into the night.

Did this affect anyone out there?

Does HH stay open after the pool closes where at least we could sit outside and have a cocktail?

Thanks!

The only negative that I have with SAB is the hours that it is open, or not open I should say! We were there last September and it closed at 8:00 PM. Honestly, 7:00 AM sounds a little early from normal. You might get there and find that that is not actually the case. They don't seem to always know when that pool is actually open. I called the front desk when were staying at the BCV, and they said it was open until midnight! Needless to say they were very wrong.

As far as Hurricane Hannah's goes, I'm pretty sure that when the pool is closed, they are closed. The entire pool area is roped off when it is closed. There is Beaches & Cream which is right by the pool area as well, and that seems to be the place to be in the evenings, as they stay open very late.

You could always pool hop over to the Volcano pool at the Poly after SAB closes.

Just kidding folks.

The quiet pools do remain open 24 hrs a day.... they are rather nice and located next to the laundry facilities-so you can always swim and do your laundry late at night! :rotfl:

Hurricane Hanna's is closed when SAB is closed but there is still the Ale & Compass lounge off the YC lobby that I'm sure you can request your drink "to go" and enjoy it in a rocker on the main balcony :thumbsup2

Thanks for those answers.
KLDMom2000 -- the "quiet" pool -- where exactly is that? (We've only walked by the complex while strolling the Boardwalk in past visits -- really not familiar with details of the site.)

And I am assuming that you can get a cocktail to go at Ale & Compass and relax on a lounge chair by quiet pool late at night??

Thanks again!

It's on the other side of the YC (and BC has one too). It really is quiet in that everyone automatically assumes Stormalong Bay is the only pool.... last fall our room was on the bottom floor facing the tennis courts with the quiet pool just to our left-so we could walk right out our sliders and go to that pool :thumbsup2 The first day we were there, we didn't get a chance to do SAB since we went to Epcot that afternoon and by the time we got back from dinner, it was already 7:30 and SAB was closing at 8.... so I took my girls over to the quiet pool since they had their hearts set on swimming :) Once you check in and you get your map, you'll see it.... like I mentioned~it's right next to the tennis courts and laundry facilities :thumbsup2

As far as bringing your drink from Ale & Compass... I've never tried it as I don't like alcohol (yes, DH picks on me-I hate coffee too! :rotfl: :rotfl: ) and I don't recall whether there are any signs re: no alcholic beverages by the pool??? There are no lifeguards at that pool, so I can't imagine there would be a problem????

Enjoy! Have fun!!! :)

OMG...thanks for that tip!! I would love to go swim at the Poly after SAB closes!!!

Or, even better....get a drink to go (or just get a glass of wine from your room) and sit on the beach and watch the activities. We LOVE sitting on the beach after dark....it is really nice out there.

Quiet pool rules, we would buy unbelievably high priced beer in the gift shop put it in our frudge specific for quiet pool drinks. Ale and compass is usually closed and hurricane hanna is definately closed at 8. good drinks though We always request a first floor room facing the quiet pool, then open our sliding door and jump right in!

I agree that the quiet pool rules. My DD17 and DD13 liked it better than SAB. After a day of park hopping and walking back from Illuminations, we hit the quiet pool and hot tub at YC :thumbsup2 There was no one else there!

So, I cannot believe I have forgotten to ask this, as I have not had any luck locating this info.....playground area...located near SAB? Is there one for both YC/BC?

Thanks for any info!!

LL...thanks for t quick info:)

Is it "toddler" friendly...lol...baby swings?

Not sure about tot friendly....I have a contact at the hotel I can email and she will let me know if she gets back to me today I will post

I think there is a swing set at the Beach Club near the volley ball net. It's funny how quickly you can forget things.

Just thought I would pop in while I am here. I left my cord at home so I cannot upload any pictures until we get back but we are having a ball.
The lady at Guest services that said we would be by the quiet pool was wrong. We actually overlook where you walk into the Lobby when you are coming from the lake. We also do not have a full balcony but it is still a great room. I actually really like the location and we really have not thought twice about the balcony. Mousekeeping has been wonderful so far and the staff is super nice. We stayed at Dolpin last time and we like BC better so far because of the staff.
The kids met Art today for the first time. We actually asked yesterday at the desk about him because DD has been missing him. He is the nicest person I think I have ever met. He got down to talk to DS and stayed there forever. Art was asking him what kind of pins he liked and all about them. The kids adore him to say the least. :)
Also I do not remember reading about it but everyday so far in the lobby they have had a few members from Mousekeeping showing kids how to make Towel animals!! We had a few in our room when we got here as well. :)
So we love our room and adore beach club! Definately thrilled with our decision to stay here! Now to nap. ;)

I will look for it tonight (the swings) and if I find them I will check to see if there is a toddler swing. :)
