I have been trying to scan this thread to see if this has been answered yet, but only see it in reference to BC. We are staying at YC CL 7/23 - 8/3. We have requested a non-smoking room, as my son has severe asthma. Can anyone tell me which CL rooms are smoking vs. non? I am concerned about getting a non-smioking room that might be right next to a smoking room and him being affected by that. Thanks!

You can email the IPO and have them put a note on your reservation about your son's medical condition. That way they won't put you next to a smoker and your room will be gone over if it ever was a smoking room.

I had them put a note on my reservation for the GF because I have very bad allergies to mold, smoke and dust. It really worked because our room was absolutely spotless, not one speck of dust and no sight of mold.

We will be at the Beach Club Villas in June and read somewhere about a refillable mug/cup for Hurricane Hannah's but didn't get any specifics. I think you buy the cup with an alcoholic beverage and may be able to refill it at a cost. Does this sound correct? Does anyone know what kind of beverages can be used to refill it (beer, frozen drinks, mixed drinks, etc.)? Thanks for any insight you can provide!:drinking1

I don't know about a refillable mug for alcoholic beverages but there is one for soft drinks. When we were at the BC in October it was around $12 and there were a few locations where you could get free refills for your length of stay. Sodas, juice and milk add up quickly so it was a good deal. Plus our room was really close to the BC Marketplace so we used to just zip over there and get drinks.

Thanks Lyn and KLDMOM2000! We do have it noted in the reservation, I was just worried that while we might get a NS room, if qwe are right next to a smoking room, we could also have issues. Sounds like that has not been your experience.

I have a couple of questions regarding our YC CL trip over the course of the July 4th week. We have stayed BC CL and BWI CL, but never YC CL. So if anyone is in the know, could you please fill me in?

1) Is the YC CL only on the fifth floor?

2) With only 32 standard view rooms on the 5th floor, what is the standard view?

3) Do all Lagoon views on the CL look out toward the boardwalk?

4) Do the evening snacks change, or do they stay the same?

Thank you to those in the know!:thumbsup2

It was mentioned above that you can take a bus to MGM from the Y&B Club. You cannot. The only way to MGM is by boat or foot.

Keep in mind that if you take the bus directly from the Y&B Club to Magic Kingdom, you will be left off at the entrance of Magic Kingdom - very quick and easy. However, if you decide to go via monorail, you must walk all the way through Epcot then wait for the monorail at Epcot. This monorail only takes you to the Ticket & Transportation Center. Then you must get off that monorail and either take the large ferry boat or the express or resort monorail to the Magic Kingdom. And you have to realize that you could wait 10-15 minutes for the first monorail and another 10-15 minutes for the second monorail or ferry plus add on the 20-30 minute walk time from the Y&B to the front of Epcot. Taking the direct bus is definitely quicker and definitely easier on your feet even if you end up waiting 20 minutes for the bus at the bus stop at the Y&B!

Oops! Sorry about that, I didn't mean to include busses as a way to get to MGM!

It took us about 15 minutes to get to the monorail at the front of Epcot (and that was pushing a stroller) Once there, we NEVER waited more than a couple of minutes for a monorail. The same was true at the TTC. We timed it and it was never more than a 4 minute wait for the next monorail. We waited for the ferry once and it was a longer wait, but it still wasn't anywhere near 15 minutes. A couple of times when the lines were long at the TTC for both the monorail and the ferry we walked over to the Poly and grabbed the boat from there.

Personally, I would rather walk thru Epcot and get to check out the sights rather than feel like I am wasting time waiting 20 minutes for a bus, but that is just my opinion. I enjoyed the walk to the monorail everytime we did it (ok, except for the time it was pouring rain, but it didn't start until we were already there so we didn't have much of a choice! Thank goodness for those expensive ponchos!!) That's what is so great about Disney, so many choices!

Can you all tell me if some YC rooms have the couch/sleeper single??

thanks

is there a map of just the BC/YC/Epcot area so I can try and wrap my mind around where I'm going. We always stay at the Poly so I am completely lost.

did I miss the explanation of the "refillable" mugs? it can't be for grown-up drinks.. that would be too good to be true :woohoo:

Here's a link that may help you out also. It shows the room floor plans and the jogging map.

I am looking for ALL the locations for refillable mugs at the Beach Club.

Actually don't much care where I have to buy mugs initially (what location at BC) just how convenient they are to refill.

We have used these in the past and as we are huge beverage people (think Diet Coke addict) I know it will be helpful $$ wise.

Also, are Yacht club mugs the same or different?

Just very unfamiliar with this resort location.

any and all info greatly appreciated.

I can only answer your question partially.

The mugs we bought Oct 2006 say Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, so you can refill them at both resorts. I believe the BC/YC has the most places to refill your mugs of any of the resorts. We only refilled (and purchased) ours at the Marketplace (they sell the yummiest lemon gelato, sandwiches, salads and other snacks) and Beaches & Cream.

We were in room 1762 a ground floor room with a full patio and it was just around the corner from the Marketplace. My husband is a Pepsi addict (he had to settle for Coke) so that was great for us. We definitely got our moneys worth with those mugs especially this this last stay.

I just found this on allearsnet.com

Beaches and Cream sells a Length of Stay refillable mug. You can get it refilled with coffee or soda at the following locations: Beaches and Cream, Beach Club Marketplace, Hurricane Hanna's, Martha's Vineyard, Rip Tide, and the Ale and Compass.

Hope this helps!

If I might add on to your question...

Do all Lagoon views on CL have a view of the Illuminations fireworks?

Thanks!
No they do not. There are some lagoon view rooms that are over the wedding gazebo and those views of Illuminations would be blocked by another wing jetting out.

Yacht Club info needed

I need the email address for the Yacht Club concierge.
Thanks in advance.
