This thread for some reason doesnt receive as many posts as other resort threads...however, have enjoyed reading recent posts!!!
Getting very excited as we are reaching the one month mark:)
We are planning a relaxed, enjoy the resort kind of vacation this time! Visit the parks.....but wont be in the "have to do everything" mode.
Besides, with DD being 14mths old at the time....she will be happy at SAB all day long:)

I haven't logged in here in a few years...but...I just remembered my old password. I'm ASTOUNDED that this forum is still in operation!!!!!

Why hasn't anybody updated it yet?

Good to be...back...it's like I never left!

It hasn't been updated because we were waiting on you! ;)

Honestly this thread has for a long time been hanging on by a..well...thread. :)

The GF thread is currently the big 400lb gorilla around here. I am a big GF fan but am also a HUGE YC (& now BCV as well) fan!

We are considering the YC for December this year but have only previously stayed there during the summer months. So I may try to add to the activity on this thread.

Welcome back Joe Cool! Now can we get this thing updated?!?!?:thumbsup2

I have already posted these pics on my own little thread, but wanted to inspire those going to YC soon! As I have said in other posts, but we just love BC / YC!

We probably will not be back to Disney until next Spring or Summer, so, I will have to live through others on their way sooner!

We're staying at the Yacht Club in November for the Food and Wine Festival and really looking forward to it. Seeing everyone's pictures is really helping to get the excitement going!

We will be at the Yacht Club really soon now!! This thread has been so helpful. This will be our first time at an Epcot resort - I can't wait!

Hi Joe!
Wondered if you were still around! Been to WDW lately or have any info?

I sure cant wait.... we have decided on Beach CLub for our May 08 trip to WDW!!! It is our 1st time.... and we are all super excited... would love to see more BC pics... and room tips... as I wait to book our 08 package...

We're planning Easter '08 at the YC and was looking for photos of the front of the building? All the ones I've seen are from the marina side. I was just curious what the front entrance looks like.

Thanks!

Does anyone know if anything special is going on around Sept. 16-23rd? We go every year to WDW around this time, but this year the BC is completely booked (good thing I made ressies a long time ago).

On an interesting note, the YC still has availability for all their rooms (std., water, and etc). Just seemed a little odd that one would be so full while the other seems so open.

They moved a lot of AKL people into there because of the construction at AKL, it may have something to do with that.

we'll be checking into the Yacht Club in 25 days! :cool1: WHOOO HOOO!!!! It'll be our first time staying there, last trip we stayed at the BWI but the kiddos wanted to try SAB this time :goodvibes We're booked in a standard view room, I'm wondering what I should request. Any suggestions on section, floor, etc? Last trip we stayed concierge and received a room that overlooked the delivery area and the dumpsters. Not the greatest thing to hear at 6:00 am every day, although it did get us up and going pretty early LOL :rotfl:

I booked a GV standard room, too. We were there the first week in July. I requested a Gazebo view. At check in, they were going to give me a view of the Admiral pool. No thanks. I really don't think anybody pays attention to room requests from the CRO ressie. I asked if I could pay to upgrade to a WV room (had a beautiful one last summer)....the CM didn't really know how or what to do so a manager who was right next to us (so I believe heard the whole conversation) came over, typed a bit but never spoke to me and poof...wound up with this room and view......It would have been more gazebo view but it was down at the end of the building near the exit at the boardwalk area. I THINK it was just a GV with an exceptionally nice view because we have stayed on the 1st floor just a couple rooms down and it was GV - more toward the gazebo, though. The rate stayed the same GV AP rate - nobody told me it was any type of upgrade , so I am really not positive, but would book GV and request this room area again.

Looking toward the right.....

Have fun!!! We had a really nice stay at the YC. Better than last summer and would do it again. We weren't sure we would return to YC after last summer's stay, but things were better for us this time around.

Hi,

Found this thread so thought I would ask a question or two. Apologies if this has been answered, but I haven't the time to trawl through all the pages.

I have just booked a deluxe club (previously known as concierge) room - all the CRO said was the room would be about 100sq ft bigger - anyone have any info on these, where they are located, whats so special about them etc. Also anyone stayed club recently - we stayed here several years ago and the lounge was very small - is this the same?

Looking to have a few days relaxing after a cruise, so hope I have chosen the right resort.

Thanks

Gail

I should have posted when we returned we loved the BC!

It was our family's 1st trip to Disney (yes dh and I too) and we loved everything about the BC. We were there July 6th-13th, found check in quick and friendly. Our room was ready and we were there at just before 11 am, that was a nice surprise.

We liked that Disney resorts recycle the bottles right in the room by separate trash cans (thumbs up for that one).

The room was nice and roomy enough for our 5. It was also very quiet which we liked more so than view, we booked std and had a view of tress but like I said it was soooo quiet it was nice to fall asleep fast at night.

While we did not get any towel animals, we did have shell shaped towel arrangements.

The pool area was awesome!! We spent some time everyday in the pool. The slide was great. My kids even decided to participate in the afternoon activities by the pool one afternoon and had fun.

Mousekeeping was very good no complaints about anything.

Actually, one afternoon I went back to the room from the pool to grab something I forgot, I sat down for a minute to read one quick thing before heading back down to the pool when there was a knock at the door, it was a Mousekeeping supervisor and he said he was going to check the room to see if it was alright, he did have a clipboard. he apologized profusely for "bothering me", I wasn't bothered at all. He did ask me if I found the room to be in good condition. We found no problems at all.

I was worried slightly too because of some of what people had reported not that long before we went.

I would not hesitate to go back to the BC at all! Loved the short walk to Epcot, and liked the boat to MGM.

It was great stay at the BC!

Marketplace has great gelato! The large is included on the snack plan!!

Just have to bump this thread up and say

we are 3 weeks away from our frist trip to BC and I can hardly wait!:cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay:

I have asked for an HA room since I cannot walk far or get in and out of tubs. Can anyone tell me if they have stayed in one?
Where are they located? I looked at the plan and the quiet pool area looks nice but the laundry is there, is this a problem. I also asked for a first floor room so I can get in and out easily with an ECV. Is the Standard view as bad as I have heard? I stayed in the Poly concierge last year and was very spoiled with a Castle view so I do not want to be too disappointed. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks, Nanci:flower3:

I don't know about the HA rooms but we have had standard, garden and water view rooms. I never had a bad view in any of the rooms. The worst view if you want to call it that was looking into a bunch of trees and I knew that the parking lot was on the other side but couldn't see it. For me the location is the best part of this resort. A five minute walk and I'm in Epcot. :woohoo: Hope you have a wonderful time.
