This Is A Poncho-Free Zone!--May 22-29, 2010 PTR (New PTR!!!! 5/31)

Hi Becky! Hope you had a nice Valentine's Day!

Jonah ended up choosing the UP valentines from Target! Thanks for the tip. :thumbsup2

Happy Double Digits! :banana::banana:

YAY for double digits! I bet its starting to finally feel real- and somewhat close and more planning is beginning! I love when its the hectic planning time because it feels so close! :goodvibes

I'm sorry I have been MIA, since working the weekend and the Dis not letting me log on, I have gotten behind. I am going to catch up though, if the Dis will behave:surfweb:.

Yeah Becky, you are on the home stretch!!! YEAH!!!! :cheer2:

I'm thinking up something cute to send the girls before your trip....I'll think on it and let you know. :cutie:

My goodness Becky - I hadn't checked in for a week or so and I missed so much!

Thanks for all your helpful links - Our 3 weeks there we have 2 lightness weeks and one moderate so fingers crossed we wil get lots done!!!

You have been so busy with snow, tea partys etc etc.

So, tell me how the Valentines things work with the girls? Do they give them to friends at school.

We have a thing here called "Snatch Valentine"! I am sure it is only done in my home town so I would love it if anybody else said they had heard about it. We buy presents for our children and put them on the doorstep one at a time. You then ring the doorbell and sometimes the child can take the present and other times it is on a rope and as they go to take it, it is snatched away! It is so much fun! My brother does it every year for Amber. Can't wait until Sunday!!!

I cannot believe you are already in double digits - Yeah

I'm going to update my PTR tonight as we have also been quite busy.

Sara xx

You're welcome, Sara!!! Ally exchanged valentines with her friends at school and then she took the extras to her friends at church. The snatch valentine sounds like a lot of fun! I've never heard of anything like it!! :goodvibes

Hooray your getting closer which means our date is right around the corner~~ :cheer2:

I know, Dina!! I bet you're getting excited, too!!! :woohoo:

Yay 99 days!!!! :cool1::cool1:

Thanks Kylie!! Whooo hooo!! :cool1:

Hooray for Double Digits!!

YAY!!! Whoo hooo!!!

Woo hoo -

YAY!!! Whoo hoo!!!

Hey Becky!!

I asked the lady who runs the Wilderness Lodge thread about the lobby rooms. Looks like they are the best bet as far as Standard Rooms go. It says that you may hear noise from Whispering Canyon restaurant (b/c it is open to the lobby), but at least it closes at night, unlike the trucks unloading where we were!!!

The view from the balcony is either roof top or parking lot. Not too bad though! Here is the info:

To request these rooms you should ask for Standard View room, 4th floor, off the Lobby, not a specific room #.

Standard View rooms located off the Lobby: (Southside)

There are only 9 standard view rooms located directly over the Check-in (Southside of lodge) area on the 4th floor and open to the main Lobby. While all of these rooms have outside balconies the views are of the roof peaks. Guests have also complained of noise coming from Whispering Canyon Café while staying in these rooms.

Wilderness Lodge Room #'s and Locations

These rooms also have easy access to an alcove with a fireplace and reading area just over the front doors, a large outside veranda over the front entrée of the lodge plus a great alcove and balcony overlooking Bay Lake. Looking on the map Wilderness Lodge room #’s and locations these rooms would be room # 4091-4099

****

I saw families in the alcove that they are talking about. I thought it was for concierge only!! It is a really nice fireplace and living room set up. They were playing games and eating snacks. So cute :cloud9: It would literally be steps away from your room.

HTH: Here is the link to the site http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2319081 (but I am sure you found it already ;) )

Katie--THANK YOU!!! You are awesome!!! I really appreciate all of this great info!!! And thanks for the link!!!

DOUBLE DIGITS!! :mickeyjum :mickeyjum
it will be here before you know it!!!

YAY!!! I know!! I'm sooo excited!!!

First & most importantly:

Happy Double Digits! :yay: :cool1:  :wizard: :dance3:

Love those mugs! We have a small collection of Disney mugs that we've bought the last 3 or so trips to WDW. But yours are so cute together! :goodvibes

I think our schools will be having their last day (so far...) on our check in day. Which means our kids will have to miss the last 2 days. :teacher:

Thanks for all those links! I entered my email & can't wait for the website to be up & running.

We are watching the Opening Ceremonies that we've DVR'd from earlier. Hope you have a great weekend!

Whooo hoooo!!! Thank you!! Apparantly the teachers are going to vote on how they want to make up the days--Spring Break, add hour to school day, or add at the end. So we'll see what happens!

I love the feeling of finally being able to say we are going to WDW in less than 100 days. It's awesome.

I know!!! Isn't it the best, Megan?!

:banana::banana:Happy Double Digits:cool1::cool1:

YAY!!! Whoo hoo!!

Whew! I did it! All caught up now. I am SOOOOO glad I read that Perfect Princess Party post (that's a mouthful)! That was just the cutest thing ever. I truly think that I probably would have cried if I had seen Caroline doing those things! I just can't wait until I can see her and Ella doing Big Sister/Little Sister things like that. I'll boo-hoo, but it will be so sweet! I will definitely be watching to see if the Knoxville store ever has an event like that.

Aww!! Thanks Andrea!! The girls had sooo much fun at the Princess Party!! Girls are sooo much fun, aren't they?!

Hey there!!! I just read through your whole PTR - loving all your pictures, and two trips this year!!! :yay::yay::yay: Happy double digits on the May trip!

Love the link to the Family Disney Theme Night idea thread too! I've been thinking about doing a few of those this year to help tide us over between trips.

I didn't make it over to the WL while we were there at Christmastime, but from the pictures I have seen, it's beautiful! I'm sure you will love it!

Hi Brook!!! I'm so glad you're joining in on my PTR!!! :goodvibes Thank you!! Yes, I'm hoping to have several family Disney theme nights between now and our trip! It makes counting down that much more fun!!!

Somehow, I missed this. Very cute!

Good choice of Valentines, too. Hope you had a great party. :)

Less than ten sets of ten days to go! :cheer2:

Thank you MeMom!! Ally did that all by herself!! Oooh--I like how that sounds--less thab 10 sets of 10 days--awesome! :thumbsup2

No worries, Dana!! I've been MIA this weekend as well. We went out of town and have been pretty busy!! I'm trying to get all caught up!! :goodvibes

Yeah Becky, you are on the home stretch!!! YEAH!!!! :cheer2:

I'm thinking up something cute to send the girls before your trip....I'll think on it and let you know. :cutie:

YAY!!! Thanks Katie!! You are so sweet to do something again for my girls!! They still talk about the things you sent them last year!! :goodvibes

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. We ended up going to my parent's for the weekend. They offered to watch the girls so Brent and I could go out for Valentine's Day. We actually went out Saturday night instead of Sunday. First we went to the movies to see "Valentine's Day" which we really enjoyed!! Then we hung out for awhile and then headed to a VERY nice restaurant called Flat Iron Grill. We had reservations for 9:30 p.m. (everything was packed so I was thankful we even got a ressie). We really enjoyed our evening together!! :lovestruc

On Sunday morning we went to church with my parents. We got to hear Travis Cottrell sing (he does the music for Beth Moore) and he was incredible. My parent's church is actually calling him as their new music minister!! It was such a blessing to have him lead us in worship!! Then we ate a nice brunch at Ruby Tuesday and headed back to my parent's house to exchange valentines.

These were the valentines I got for my girls (Target)

Yesterday was a school holiday for Ally and guess what?! It ended up snowing--again!!!! So we stayed at home and worked on our countdown chain. I found 2 different kinds of chains here on the DIS so I ended up combining them to make our chain!!
003-1.jpg

the front of each loop has a different Disney character on it and the number of days until Disney
006-1.jpg

the back of each loop has a fun fact about the different Disney parks and the Polynesian
007-2.jpg

012-2.jpg

The first fun fact link read: "Disney's Polynesian Resort is located on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon. It is situated directly south, and two monorail stops, from the Magic Kingdom. The Polynesian occupies 39 acres and is styled as a South Pacific paradise, complete with beaches, tropical landscaping, waterfalls, and bamboo tiki torches. The Great Ceremonial House is the center of the resort, serving as both lobby and focal point of the area. The Polynesian is a Disney Deluxe Resort, but the atmosphere is very casual and family-oriented."

94 days and counting!!! :woohoo:

What a fun Valentine's Day!!! Ally is so cute in her Valentine's outfit, and Claire is too funny making her Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip kiss!

Coffee makers are always good gifts -- drinking coffee is my favorite part of the morning.

Your countdown chain is fantastic!!! Reading all those fun bits of trivia will definitely make the time until your trip go faster!

Sounds and looks like a great Valentine's Day Becky! The girls look adorable in their Valentine's outfits! :goodvibes

Your countdown chain is really cute too! Love the fun facts on the rings. I haven't decided why kind of countdown the girls are going to do yet.

Wow, looks like you had a good Valentine's Day!

Love the chain. That is very cute. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you had a nice Valentine's weekend with your family. My friends and I saw Valentine's Day on Saturday also. We thought it was cute but predictable. I miss the days of mandatory valentines in school! We never did anything as cool as ice cream sundaes though. The countdown chain is very cute. I thought about making one, but maybe I'll wait until 30 days out.

What a great Valentine's day! My DH and I went out on Saturday night as well and Maddie stayed over at my parents house. We went to PF Chang's for dinner and then we saw "Valentine's Day" too! I thought it was really cute. I love Ally's Vday outfit. It's so cute. The countdown chain looks really awesome. I love the facts!

Your girls look adorable in their Valentine's outfits! I love all the bows you make. Do you have a website or anything - I'm thinking that my niece that is on the way is going to need some of those bows!

Claire making her dolls kiss is too cute :love1:

And I LOVE your countdown chain! Did you find the template for that here on the DIS or did you create all the links yourself? Very, very cute!
