Thinking of splitting my stay into a split stay

Currently I have a week booked in a two bedroom villa at the Poly Tower in November. Which I loved the last time we stayed there, but it’s very expensive. It’s going to be a big trip to end our annual passes celebrate both our daughters birthdays, an anniversary and spend time with some family we haven’t seen in a while. So I don’t mind spending money to have a good trip. But I could save $300 a night switching to Copper Creek villas. They aren’t available the whole trip though so I’d have to do a split stay.

How many nights would you do for the split? I could do one night at Poly and the rest at Copper Creek. Would save the most money and we’d get a taste of the room I like and then we’d settle in to the other room. Or should I do a more even split to give time at each?

Doing this switch the cousins will only get to see Copper Creek since they are coming the day before we leave. Is the pool at Wilderness Lodge as nice for everyone? They don’t plan to be there late so wouldn’t take advantage of watching fireworks from our room at Poly. We plan to do a character breakfast and then swim. We could do the split for the last night and then they’d see two different pools but logistically that seems annoying since we won’t have the room for everyone after the pool potentially until late.

I would do 4 and 4 if you have any flexibility with flights, and take advantage of the free water park promotion on your moving day.

I don't like 6-and-1 or 5-and-2 because it makes the whole trip feel shorter. The 1 or 2 day segment will feel tacked on, and it'll feel like you "real" trip is just the main 5 or 6 night segment.

We don’t have flights since we live a few hours away, but I don’t think we can add any more days unfortunately with my husbands job. I don’t think we’d do the water park with my baby she can’t swim yet. We’re also trying to maximize our park time since we aren’t renewing our passes

With kids I’d want a couple days at Poly just to land and then do the split. As for experiencing Poly Tower- I’d still want a couple days. You don’t get a decent feel for any property after 1 night even sans kids!

This sounds rude but ignore the cousins. They’re tagging along anyway, so wherever you chose to be is the best place for them. WL pool areas are lovely too.

I’m trying have family together since our kids are close in age, but definitely get that. I’m not usually a fan of one nights but have done them before usually adding on club. I saw Boulder Ridge is available for the beginning of our trip so I might switch and end at Poly although saves slightly less money since the end is more expensive.

I switched rooms in the same resort after just one night (moving from a 2nd floor poly room to a first floor poly room), I would not do a one night split unless I absolutely had to. I would do 3/5 or 4/4 or 5/3.

ETA: I'm not even sure I caught how long the stay is planned. If it's a 7 night stay, then 4/3 or 3/4.

It’s 7 nights

I once had both flights screwed up and I ended up with a 1-7-1. It was awful.

Do a week split often. I find 3/4 the best so that the second leg feels longer and less rushed. Easy to give the bags to Concierge to transfer especially considering you'd be staying in the same area.
