..but ended up being not so much.

Cheese blintzes. I finally bought some and cooked according to directions served with fresh strawberries. Well...the strawberries were great! I expected the filling to be smoother (they were made with cottage cheese) and sweeter.

I began cooking at the age of 9. I was pretty good by the time I reached my teen years. My favorite quick food was mac and cheese, but one day we did not have any macaroni. I thought I could just use rice instead. I made a huge pot of it. Absolutely gross. 20 some years later we still laugh about it.

Turkey legs at WDW. I thought they looked so good and everyone seemed to be enjoying them. Then I got one and it was NASTY!

Our new rec room furniture. There was a leak in the ceiling that stained our sofa. The insurance gave us a certain amount to replace/repair it. We found beautiful fabric to recover the sofa, loveseat, chair & ottoman. We also checked out new furniture. I'm hard to please but I found a set that was so comfy & pretty nice looking. So we decided to get the new set instead of recovering the old. We've had it since last summer & it's so uncomfortable and doesn't seem all that sturdy. I miss the old set so much.

But I'm thankful for what I have.

My husband was the same. He waited 5 trips before trying one and threw it in the garbage after one bite.

Honestly, I thought moving to Italy was going to be a dream come true. Turns out it is no different than living any other place. The cool statues and old buildings are just well...there. No time really for getaways anymore than when we lived in America. True, the food is great, but I want a choice other than Italian. I miss cable tv and carpet and driving without worrying that I am going to die.

AMEN. DS and I each got one and had identical looks of disgust when we bit in. Couldn't even finish it.

i'll date myself and say pop tarts. when the commercial first came on my mom and i couldn't wait to try them. what a disapointment. they smelled terrible while in the toaster and tasted worse. we were so disappointed. i know that millions love them including my dh and kids. they still smell bad when they're toasting to me.

Heretic! Cheese blintzes are AWESOME!

Ok, different people, different tastes.... as long as you're comfortable with your wrongness. :snooty:;)

Le Cellier. People gush about it. I tried it twice. I still don't get it, and I love steak.

hot pop tarts are nasty...that's why I dont' heat mine..I keep them in the fridge and eat them cold and they are SOO good.

Dom Perignon. I had the opportunity to try it at an anniversary party and thought it was terrible! The dryness stayed on my tongue for at least 15 minutes. Give me a nice cold bottle of Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante anyday!:thumbsup2

Bleeech.

Dole whips. The way people on here rave about them; I thought they'd be amazing. I love pineapple, it had to be a win-win. Not even close.

pierogies, everyone said how good they are. I thought they were horrible.

Were they from a box or homemade? Good, homemade pierogies are the best comfort food in the world ;) I am totally biased though! :goodvibes

Dinner at 'Ohanas.....overrated, rushed, and just not that good. The dessert was good though, bananas tasted kind of off though.

I like Le Cellier. I don't get the love for O'hana. It's fun but the food...blech!

LOL! If you ever want to make that trade count me in!

I was scared to say this, but I agree with you. Dole Whips. I would much rather have a Citrus Swirl (the old one, anyway) instead of a Dole Whip. I love pineapple, but not these...
