Ok, so I have a box in my closet that stores any items I buy to take to DW while planing our trip/s. I like to buy some things beforehand and take with us instead of paying for things at Disney. It is an easy way to save a little $$.

Here are some things that always make my list:
  • glow sticks
  • gift cards
  • ponchos
  • Disney themed shirts/princesses dresses for my girls
I think this time I am going to add something for the characters to sign, but I haven't decided what yet.

A lot of this is irrelevant to people without chronic health conditions, but these are the special things I bring for a week on Disney property beyond the usual clothes and toiletries:

An extra pair of comfortable walking shoes
Sun hat
My own unscented shampoo, conditioner, and soap (the hotel stuff is so heavily scented it triggers my asthma and migraines)
Sunscreen (I use baby sunscreen because it tends to be waterproof and high SPF but less scented)
Lip balm w/sunscreen
Travel packs of tissues, wet wipes, and hand sanitizer (I ALWAYS get sick traveling; probably from being cooped up with other people’s germs on the plane, but clean hands help)
Extra batteries and memory card for the camera
Frio wallet for insulin and twice as many diabetic supplies as I would normally need
Gallon Ziploc bags
First aid kit with moleskin for feet
Extra safety pins
Refillable water bottle
Printouts of airline reservations
Envelopes for Mousekeeping tips
Backup prescriptions in case something happens to my medications
Mini flashlight (my phone’s flashlight doesn’t always cut it for super-dark areas and I have terrible night vision)
Dollar store rain ponchos
Decorations for resort room window
Snacks and mini-booze bottles for airplane
Over-the-door show organizer (hang it up on the clothes bar in the bathroom to store toiletries and make more room on bathroom counter)
Pennies for pressing (pre-1982 and shined up with a pencil eraser)
Body Glide
A Disney Gift Card with the total amount I want to spend on alcohol for the week

One of my favorite things to bring are blank notecards in a quart size ziploc bag with Sharpies - the big fat ones that Characters can easily use.
We use the blank notecards as autograph cards. You can then use those in your scrapbook or create other fun crafts to help remember your trip!
Also we like to buy Disney themed temporary tatoos at home - those were fun when the kiddos were little.
Light up toys to play with during a parade - you can find fun Disney themed ones at your local Disney store and sometimes they are really inexpensive!
we bring ears we might have purchased on a prior trip.
And lastly don't forget your tiaras!

We each have what we call a "ditty bag". A small plastic bag with a zipper where we have all our personal items. Each has a personal size deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, contact case and solution. I also throw in a few band aids and my husband has nail clippers, razor and cream. If you are younger and female, well, a few other things could go in there as well. We store this under our bathroom sink all year long and any time we take any trip, that bag comes out and we just toss it into the suitcase the night before and never worry about items we will need on a daily basis. If you are pi8cky about hair care, get small sample size bottles of your shampoo or conditioner or whatever. Oh - and a fold up brush is nice if you can find one. As long as it goes into that small zippered bag, you just grab and go. Refill when you get back - after the laundry is done and you are planning your next trip.

We just use a toiletry kit, which hangs in the closet and can hold quite a bit more than the typical small-size zipper plastic bags. It can take a normal size deodorant stick, a bottle of pain killer, allergy pills, etc. Since it hangs up, it's easy to check and refill at eye-level. Ours are probably at least 15-20 years old, so they last and are worth the expense.
